What model are you getting?

For me it’s the fact my backup phone if I ever needed it is physical only. But that’s only IF I ever needed it of course. Can you reactivate a previously used physical sim?
I’ll just go back to taking it instore to carphone warehouse or O2, less money but also less trouble. Drop it off and get the money no worrying about having to call to get the money.
This is the first year I’ve had an issue with MM but really puts me off. They need to be careful they’re whole business model requires an element of trust which has been eroded with these payment problems.

Have you not met my daughter?! lol.

On the iPhone 8+ she broke 3 screens in 6 days. So much so the Apple Store joked the third time "Oh you must be here to upgrade as you can't have broken another screen"

EDIT: She should have paid extra for the 3rd screen, but she smiled and they took pity on her.
She sounds like a great match for my son. He broke the screen of his 12 Pro Max about a month ago, then the back a week ago. Both replaced under AppleCare+.

The number is 0808 196 5009 I will probably give them until after I finish work unless I see people on here calling them and getting paid.

That number is only for help with smart kiosks, not customer service. I could be wrong but i will try Live chat tomorrow and see what they say. But yes keep an eye out for people who have started receiving payment and method they used to chase would help. 👍

I phoned that number on Saturday to process my payment again, so did @Saladin12

How are you getting on nowadays old pal!
All good! I'm really happy with my phone and not had any issues at all other people are having - apart from feeling like the AOD is too dim for my liking, but I'm getting used to it!

I'm buzzing for AirPods Pro 2 on Friday to finish things off, think the volume control is what I'm most excited for. And if ANC is sorted out.

I wrote an article on Medium in 2020 about AirPods Pro noise cancellation getting nerfed after launch which has racked up nearly half a million views now and has 11k "likes"! https://medium.com/@jcrrn/we-need-to-talk-about-airpods-pro-4bbd2533e031

So I'll be very interested to see how these new ones go, and if the launch ANC remains!

Get my 14P tomorrow too, as I was away this weekend so rescheduled the DHL delivery.

DPD left my watch strap on Friday in a safe place - outside my flat front door, when there's a perfectly fine letter box it would easily go through. Luckily it was still there on Sunday!

All good then I haven’t used my pro‘s since the max came out. I used to use them in the office to be able to concentrate but I only go into the office 2 days a week now due to work from home so I try to be a little bit socialable now rather than noise cancelling everyone 😂

Did you complete the activation on the app. I found that I had started the process but had not completed the activation. I happened to log into the app on Saturday which was a few days after and saw I hadn’t completed it. Once I did that I then had 5G on my phone.

However I still could not make calls on either my iPhone or my Apple Watch and they kept failing. Someone here I can’t remember who asked if I had taken the physical SIM out of the phone which I hadn’t. Once I took that out then it worked just fine. This was on my 13 Pro Max.

I did decide after that to go to the EE store and just get a new physical SIM for my 14 Pro Max. Make sure if you go to the EE store you take your driving license or passport as otherwise they won’t help you.
Didn't have to use the app, it was an eSIM Quick Transfer whilst doing a phone to phone setup. It works fine aside from no 5G and no WiFi Calling (not even the relevant menus in Settings show up). There's nothing in the EE app to activate. Yes, I took the old SIM out of the old Phone but the Quick Transfer process appeared to have deactivated it anyway. EE second line tech support have said the eSIM is set up correctly.

Odd, just checked my order and it too says it’s it’s ineligible to return. Probably one to contact Apple about.

Using both of your examples, you have broken one phone in say 5+ years. If you had been paying Apple Care at say £249 every year for that period then that’s £1245, which you could’ve used to buy a new iPhone to replace the one you smashed (if that does indeed unfortunately occur).

It’s like when I was paying for an extended warranty with BMW on my car for several years at nearly 1k annually, not using it and realising I could’ve just set that money aside in my bank account to use if a big car repair bill cropped up.

I think the main benefit of Apple Care is the quick replacement especially if you use your phone for business and hassle free customer service from Apple so for some people it’s totally worth it (or if you’re really clumsy and break phones regularly 😳).

It’s luck of the draw though because if you had an auto gearbox you could be looking at many many thousands to get it changed. You may be two payments into the warranty in which case it’s the best bargain you’ve ever had.

Or alternatively you may pay it for years and never use it. My Beemer is £400 for the full cover with breakdown, no brainer for me as I don’t think anything at bmw is cheaper than that 😂

Good catch but then some on here upgrade their iPhone annually and as far as I am aware you can’t transfer it to the new one? So in reality they will be paying for Apple Care annually.

Others have covered this already
