Some decent simo deals (none on ee)

£10/m for 100gb on three (after cash back of £60)

EE don’t even try. Changed days from when they were so confident their prices were best that they would price match competitor tariffs (Orange Value Promise).

You have to watch with Three that you’re getting the best deal. e.g. my 30GB for £8 is still available

but they also have 30GB for this which doesn’t seem such a good deal!

If using Money Saving Expert, look at all the deals, there’s often more than one price for the same package. You can get 100GB for £12 if you don’t want the hassle of cash back, for example.

Morning all and a happy new year.

Not much to report, other than I got myself a new, slim, MagSafe case: https://amzn.eu/d/ibVVQCi

I really like it, it almost feels caseless.

I had the non MagSafe version of this and found it was a fingerprint magnet. How’s this one?

Happy New Year all,
I’d appreciate a bit of help.

Got a call allegedly from Three, the lady on the phone was really keen to sell me a contract once she found I already had an iPhone 14PM (she wanted to offer me a 13PM).

Sorry for the long post but basically here below is the contract I asked her to send it via email so I could decide, not sure if it’s scam??? She immediately cut the price to £5/month for 12m contract with watch (Apple, model not specified!), unlimited calls/message/internet. Is it a good one?

Got the email from threeg@promotionthree.co.uk

When I sent a reply to the same address to get some clarifications, got a notification that address was wrong.

I smell a rat. Domain promotionthree.co.uk was registered with Go Daddy. Three.co.uk is registered with CSC Corporate Domains.

Highly suspicious of the £49.99 security deposit too. I'd run a mile.

Thank you all. I was indeed interested to know if this looks like a standard contract, as never had one (got my company business mobile and don’t need contract on the private one).

Have to say these scumbags are really into it, when I asked the lady to send me an email, she promptly asked for my email address. Then she asked me when we could have followed up via call.

If she calls me on Monday, I know what to play her with, I’ll have some fun.

I’ve had two text messages today claiming Three have had problems taking payments. My bill is not yet due, all payments have gone out and the phone number is just a random one.

I’ve only recently moved back to Three from EE, which does make me suspicious how the scammers know which network I’m now on (my phone number is a Three number which I ported to EE some years back and then ported back to Three at the end of last year).

Some of the so-called “contract” is absolutely hideous to read through in the use of language 😬.

They don’t even bother to notice your ‘sim plan’ is £5.00 in one paragraph and £6.00 in another 🤣

You wouldn’t do that if you’re a genuine salesperson, would you? So the fact she hung up immediately revealed her intent imo.

You should have made her an offer, she pays your Three bills for the next year and you withdraw the complain to the police so she can keep her freedom 😁 . Ohh, playing with these frausters is too much fun.

Not me, still 100% happy with my M1 Air.
yeah not budging on this one... would be a complete overindulgence and I've done plenty of that this year.

I went back and forth when the M1 Pro/max came out and went for the base with more ram and storage... getting that same level of spec on the M2 would be £2750... £240 more than what I paid for the M1 Pro

what did you go for?

Had the google nest Wi-Fi (older non 6E one that recently came out) but it’s pretty dumbed down and was causing issues with my sky q Mini box (that runs its own mesh to connect the boxes).

No ends of drop outs, lost signal etc.

Pushed the boat out and got the orbi 6E and it works amazingly. No issues at all now with the sky set up, great signal through the house and super fast Wi-Fi throughout.

I have the Orbi with Wi-Fi 5. It’s good, but the only issue is the back haul limits me to a max of 500Mbps, even though it connects at 1700Mbps between router and satellites. Long term I want to run cat 6E around my house and use that for back haul.

£1699 for Wifi boxes?! Damn.
