I don’t know you know.

If Apple were planning on widening the scope of SIM-less iPhones, how would anyone know that the U.K. was one of the additional countries?
Annoyingly we've had no physical unit leaks just yet, but in the next week id expect to start seeing some

As soon as a unit with the 'CE' branding on the side makes an appearance with or without a sim tray, then we'll know!

I honestly can't see Apple not having disclosed this information to the networks already. This time of year is the networks 'Christmas' and them not being prepared to support the biggest handset release of the year wouldn't happen.

I also can't see a point where the MNVO wouldn't be aware (not to say they'll be prepared)... they form a large part of the networks business and wouldn't be a great place to leave them in the lurch..

not long to go but I'm assuming physical SIM for now

We ain’t ready for eSim sadly, We are to far away technology wise to successfully to do the switch over at the moment, It would be mayhem
I completely agree with you bud, but if Apple are driving this, the networks have no choice but to get on board and they’ll do it at their own pace.

We’ll be the ones that suffer, while they use us all as guinea pigs.

I was thinking the other day, what exactly is the point of the keynote if everything gets leaked in advance? Each year, increasing amounts of the specs/design/colours etc get leaked, to the extent that there's barely anything surprising revealed in the keynote. However, now we'll all be on tenterhooks watching the keynote to discover whether our phones are gonna be eSIM only or not :D

The same happened last year in the US, there are a lot of MVNOs over there that have lost their iPhone customers as the host network won't let the MVNO have eSIM capability.

While we’re on the topic of sims…

Anybody have any idea how to sweet talk the o2 live chat into somehow giving me this deal?

Saw it around July time and was going to get it but held out as I was heading off on holiday and didn’t want the hassle of number porting just before (as it never…ever…goes smoothly)

Now it’s gone and I’m pretty sure won’t come back as it seems too good to be true, mainly for that 3 months free Apple Music - can easily get this price without it but that’s essentially what I pay now with Three

Might be worth seeing if another network have a deal on currently with Apple Music including and then providing o2 with the deal etc?

They do currently have this deal at the moment which is great until it goes up after 6 months but it does include “up to 6 months” of Apple Music

If it’s esim only and the MVNO’s don’t all support from word go then I’m out for this year and I’ll wait for the 16. I gave up on expensive carriers and currently on Voxi and really happy so I’m not going to go back to a more expensive contract just to get an eSIM!

This also, same thought process of a great deal until the 6 months mark, but then paying then paying £20 for the remaining 18months on a sim only is silly money these days.

In the long term it probably balances out not paying the £11 subscription for AM for 6 months, but I won't feel that way at the time when I start seeing £20 being taken from me every month and then the return of a £11 AM fee!

Don’t you get an offer with Apple Music when you go to sign up anyway?
An offer from Apple or from o2?

The 3 free months Apple Music offer from apple was used years ago

o2 have a perk and an offer - you always get the choice of perk (Disney+ for example) and sometimes also have an offer (Apple music)

The offer only seems to be if you buy direct through them though (where the prices are higher)

If anyone is in need of a recommendation of somewhere to recycle their current iPhone I have just had a good experience with twigcard.com they send a prepaid cardboard protective box with tracked 24hr delivery via Royal Mail. They received my iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB today and the money is in my account £833 it was in pristine condition. They are still offering £831 as of right now for this model which is far better than the £720 Music Magpie are offering.

I find the e-sim only thing hard to believe

I'd suspect iD Mobile have just prepared their page to go live and will allow for quick easy editing once they have the full details

If the phone was to be solely e-sim in the UK you'd surely expect info on this to had leaked by now

I'm thinking that if they were going eSim only they would have let the providers know already.

They probably have, there has been rumour since March that is may be eSIM only. Last year I think a lot of the MVNOs in the States found out same time as the public.

I've just locked a trade in price with twig card as my UR quote expires on Monday. UR have dropped their prices slightly. Twig card is £781 for 14 pro 256gb, one thing to be aware of is you only have 7 days with twig card whereas UR is 14 days.

O2 are actually quite good at giving deals out. I normally just go to live chat and ask if they can give me a deal as a long standing customer. They are always happy to help.
