What model are you getting?

Will be interesting to see what happens with the watch lineup in 2024. What will they call it if Series X releases in 2025? Can’t really see them changing the release cadence and missing holiday 2024.

If they follow the iPhone precedent, then Series X will be in 2025. But that was only possible because of the S series of iPhones messing with the naming, allowing them to skip 9. But they've not had that with the Watch, so unless this year they don't name it Series 9, next year kind of has to be Series X. I think?

This is what I am thinking but then again X means X and not 10 so….

What do you mean? iPhone X was pronounced 'iPhone Ten' in the same way OS X was pronounced 'OS Ten'.

Whether people chose to call it iPhone Ex or OS Ex is up to them. Apple Watch X would similarly be known as 'Apple Watch Ten' officially, but half the world would still call it Apple Watch Ex.

It still looks and sounds cool though and why not shake it up for the 10th gen.

Yep it was always ten not X.

Good points about it being series 9 this year so what would the call it in the 9th year (2024).

I'd be surprised if they didn't follow the precedent. What I predict will happen:
  • Apple Watch Series X released in September 2024 with brand new design (like iPhone X did with removing home button)
  • In the keynote, Apple will repeatedly refer to it as Apple Watch Series 'Ten'
  • Most of the public will call it Apple Watch Series 'Ex' anyway
  • Series 11 will arrive September 2025
Just call me the oracle. 🔮

I imagine that even though it's technically the 9th year (2024), S1 was unveiled in September 2014 so I think they'll just do it in September 2024.

(Or they'll announce September 2024 and release Spring 2025 to precisely follow the pattern of S1.)

Wait oh Yh, I am getting confused with Xbox series X 😂😂 Yh it makes no sense for it not to come out next year then.

We bought a portable AC unit years ago, after the last long summer heatwave, where fans were impossible to get hold of, let alone AC units.

I seem to recall getting it the following January, one of our best purchases ever.

It lives in a cupboard in a spare room when not in use, then it lives in our bedroom.

Stick it on an hour before bed time, shut the door.

It seems like it's going to be more essential for us in the UK. I mean, I live in Scotland for crying out loud, it's September, it shouldn't be this hot!

How are people supposed to get up early for pre-orders when they've had no sleep from the heat?

I bought one a couple of years ago. Had it running last night. Makes the bedroom feel like a fridge! Only thing is is that it's a bit noisy.

I like the 1pm. I don't think anything will release after the keynote. At the very most maybe the AirPods Case.
