top advice, i do this - i get the phone and sell it 11 months later, phone only ends up costing me about £150 a year. if you dont make calls ( i dont ) then the tariff for £10 gets even cheaper ( unlimited data, and texts )

Has anybody else had confirmation of the 12am start as noted above? Or is it definitely 8am?

It's a shame they aren't doing the reserve and pick up in store this year, I was hoping to go to eldon square to pick it up on the 14th.

Depends who you ask but will try at midnight and 8am anyway, then hopefully the same gig as last year. Get up early next Friday, get a Starbucks at 5am and wait until 6.30am to get my new unlocked phone :)

Just spoke to Apple in Exeter and they are not 100% certain about reserve and pick up yet.

I'm certainly going to attempt it tonight. I remember last year it was very slow to attempt to order... i eventually got ordered about midday.

I'd just try mate. :apple:

Been following o2 on twitter today, they still have no info on the pre-order stuff?!.

Anyone else find this weird that o2 (first mobile company to get iPhone in UK) doesn't have any info yet regarding contracts etc on the day before pre-order?.

Noticed that the Australian site hasn't updated to be able to buy at 12pm their local time - so guess that suggests that all will update at 12.01 PST aka 8am here

That's because there will be no pre order on O2, you will have to get down to the store at around 4AM to have a chance of getting one on launch day

Someone a few pages back spoke to o2 on livechat and mentioned a pre-order and they confirmed there would be one?

Hell has frozen over and I think I actually want to get one of these!!! Siri thing looks AWESOME especially for me when I drive from Germany to England every other weekend!!

Does anyone know when Voda will have them? I am on a Sim Only contract at the moment, I am back next weekend, might try and pick one up then, also does anyone know if that Siri thing will work over my BMW Bluetooth?

Hey guys, I currently have a 3GS on O2 PAYG and am looking to pre-order the 4S tomorrow. The things is though that I was wondering what my best option is in terms of getting the micro-sim. Would I be safe cutting down my current one and putting it into my 4S? I just don't really fancy messing about with PAC codes and going out to the nearest O2 store on release day. I'm impatient I know, ;)

I just tracked a white iPhone 4 on ebay and it went for £400!
If mine goes for that I will be made up ha.

My thinking is the same as yours - and I am really leaning to making the 'upgrade' - loose term lol. :p

I see me keeping my contract and when it comes to renewal in April - if there is no iPhone 5 by then (which is highly highly unlikely) I will just upgrade to another 4s and sell it. Keep the money to one side, then when the 5 comes, sell the 4s I have had since launch and put both those 4s sales money together to buy outright.

I have it all worked out... ;)

I'm doing well convincing myself ha

Snap for me. Vodaphone 2 year contract runs out next June.

WOW thats really cheap, whats giffgaff tho... is it reliable, my phone is a business phone, so will my number be secure?

I'm going to pre-order tomorrow as soon as the website allows me to. Presuming its 8am, i'll be at work so will have to try and get it done over 3G on my iPad.

What are the thoughts on supply/demand for tomorrow? is this going to be anywhere near as tough to get as the iPhone 4 was?

apologies if this has been discussed earlier in thread.

how do you mean? it runs on o2 network so network is the same as o2, how do you mean your number is secure? like do they give it away to people so you get spam calls?

its just another mobile network, like orange, 3, asda, virgin ect.

I probably use between 4-6 hours a month, and 1400 texts! Then 450mb data!

So i'd need a decent tariff.... I pay about £50 per month at the moment with o2... it was a 24 month contract.. NEVER again!

So you think the best way is to buy the handset from apple, keep selling each year, and updating... I have a 3gs to sell, so will knock a little bit off the cost!

My phone is a business phone tho, so i will need security on the number. Also, is it actually O2?? So can i phone o2 with problems?

Sorry I mean, I need to keep my phone number.. even if I leave them.

If its with o2 how does it work? Are they like carphone warehouse (for example) basically sign up, then i can deal with o2?

Your phone number will be fine. GiffGaff run on O2s network so you might want to check their coverage at your area.

I wish they would release some information about what is happening tomorrow. Are they going to try and make us pre-order a non existent contract and hope we'll pay. I really want to know how much the phones are going to cost on contract, hopefully not ridiculous prices though others I'll stick another year with my first gen.

So to (try) and clear this up....if I pre-order an iPhone for pickup in an apple store (if I can even do that?!) then can I pay in store and choose a contract in store? Or do I have to order from somewhere else entirely for contract (I'm starting a fresh one)? I'm so confused!

I'm already an o2 customer, so should be fine!

Do you sign up to contract with them, or is it pay as you go?

yep you get your PAC from whatever network you are on now, then you get a sim card from giffgaff and tell giffgaff the PAC code then 2 days later you have your old number on the new network like nothing changed.

giffgaff is it's own network any problems you go to giffgaff, it just uses o2 network for coverage (it's an MVNO), other than that it is it's own network.

This is not down to apple, the phone prices are released, so wait till tomorrow and the networks should have caught up!
