I've always wanted 64GBs of memory, and didn't get a chance to get the IP4 last year. So I decided (about 10 months ago) that I'd definitely get whichever phone they release this year :). £700 is a lot of money but 64GB cards aren't cheap I guess :p.

I can get a 64GB SD card to £97.99.

how big are the memory cards in iphones? I thought they'd be more of the micro sd card size rather than as big as a regular sd card?

either way, 64GB :D.

Hey, with ref to GiffGaff and its registration form - is it a micro sim which is automatically sent?

giffgaff will send you whatever sim you want for free. My wife uses them for her 3GS-there's auto-top-up if you want. The reason that they're so cheap is they use O2's network BUT they don't have their costly overheads because the help comes from the giffgaff community who get cash or mobile credit for helping new members. They claim queries are answered within 3 minutes. Check their website.

I'm with O2 & my iPhone 4 deal finishes on 31 December 2011. However I phoned the upgrade number to check my minutes & data usage to work out the best deal for me-we're hoping to move to France in this academic year. I've now chosen to switch to an O2 Simplicity tariff straightaway & so will order from Apple tomorrow. Just switch my O2 sim on the 14th & I'm up & running with the freedom to switch to new provider whenever I want. 3 seem to offer a good deal but when I checked their coverage for my postcode-seems I may have to stand in the field over the road to get a decent signal!

They're chips, and they're somewhere on this board (not at scale, blown up)

Regarding HD size, just how important is it really? Am i missing a point about the iCloud? Can't you d/load your content as and when? I'm assuming a 16G would suffice and you just adjust accordingly - like the Kindle Fire.....am i wrong?

I just went through this entire thread, more or less, and people keep asking the same exact questions after a while. Is it possible to edit the original post to update it with a sort of FAQ of stuff that's already been answered? That'd be helpful!

I live in Switzerland but am preordering a 4S 32GB as soon as it goes up. My sister moved to London a couple weeks ago and I'm simply ordering it as a "gift" to her address in London, which is perfectly possible apparently. Then I'm visiting her to pick it up.

I have a 32GB iPhone 4 right now. I think the upgrades are absolutely worth the upgrade, especially if you love and use your iPhone as much as I do. The only thing is.. 64GB, worth it? I don't see what for... I never even managed to fill 32GB.

What i have been doing :p

Hey guys just letting you all know what i thinks a good idea :p (having got every iPhone on day of release since the first)

1. Buy subsidised iPhone on contract (regardless of length)

2. Unlock this phone and sell before the new one gets announced but you know its coming :p

You now have £400+ having only invested £100 at the start and paying for your data.

3. Buy new iPhone unlocked from Apple for £500.

4. Sell this iPhone for £400+ before new one gets announced :p

Your now out of a contract and have only spent £200 but have had new iPhones on day 1 :p

5. Get another contract out and get subsidised iPhone for £100

See where I'm going :p you should at this point have about £300 extra in your bank account from selling the old phone to pay for your bill for the next year ^^

I currently have just sold my iPhone 4 for £400 and will be getting a 16gb White 4S for £99 on a contract with 3 :) I really don't mind paying £25-£35 a month on a contract and this is working out perfectly for me! Its insanely easy to jailbreak and unlock if you were worried about that... Only downside is eBay for taking extortionate fees ^^

I have had an iPhone since its release and by using both contract iPhones and payg iPhones have managed to only spend around £940 over 4 years :p This INCLUDES my contract/sim only bill every single month....

Thats less than £20 a month for a new iPhone every year on day 1 and all your calls/text/data

Sorry for the long post but it really does work for me and I'm just letting you all know what i feel is the best way to go about things!

P.S If your wanna know my math its this
Average of £30 a month bill for 4 years = £1440
Amount spent on iPhones over 4 years = £1189 (2 contract 2 without)
Amount i have sold my 4 iPhones for = £1700ish
£2629 - £1700 = £929

IT WORKS!!! :p Shiny new iPhones yearly

whats the longest you've gone without an iPhone between new releases?

Hi guys,

Will I be able to reserve an iPhone 4S like last years release then go and pick it up and pay in-store or is it online sales only from tomorrow?

Doesn't look possible at the moment as far as I am aware. They may allow it when pre-orders go live, but nothing has been said yet.

iPhone to iPhone 3G i think... Was about 3 weeks

The rest were between 1-2 weeks :) Post it on eBay so it ends the weekend before the press conference, make it end about 8PM on sunday night and you will get most for it.

iPhones are very very easy to sell but i HATE eBay... this year i got £390 selling on gumtree. Phone was collected yesterday and in 8 days i will have my 4s :p

Gumtree>eBay if possible.. No fees!

Australia Preorders haven't got online so it must be a synchronous launch. Expect it 8:01am.

Unlocked iphone

Not sure if this has been covered.. I have a work phone contract. BUt I want to move to iPhone and use my work contract. So I guess I need to buy the unlocked iPhone and just put my work sim (micro sim ofcourse).. I can but that phone directly from Apple site for £499 ? do I have to pay any other unlocking fees on top? or is that it ?

Thanks

If you buy it unlocked from Apple it is not subsidised so there are no unlocking fees. I would check the data charges on your work contract and whether or not your employer restricts data use.

if your contract sim via your employer is with o2 for example, can't you just buy an o2 iPhone 4S?
