has the signal problem been fixed with these?

although im happy with my 4, im out of contract and my mummy :p needs a new phone as her 3GS doesnt like syncing anymore.

The better ones don't affect the screen quality. I have tried many different ones including Power Support, Invisible Shield, Best Skins Ever, Phone Devils etc. etc.
Really not sure why you guys want screen protectors. The iPhone 4/4S screen is not prone to getting scratched. I have even dropped my iPhone 4 from the top of a wheelie bin where I'd placed it after a bike ride, then a few minutes later flung open the bin lid and it shot into the air and slammed down on the concrete. Did this twice! It wasn't in a case and neither time was the glass scratched at all.

The only thing I do use is a carbon fibre effect sticker on the back. I had a black one on my black 4 and now have a white one on my white 4S. Looks very nice and has attracted a great many positive comments. If you're interested, search eBay for a 3M carbon fibre sticker - don't get the full body kit, just the sticker for the bad. Costs around £3. Have a look at item no. 170609106215, that's a white one. Looks even better with a bumper - you can get these on eBay for around £3 too and they look identical to the Apple version.

Agreed. I have an HD antiglare on and i despise it, turns the screen grainy and mutes colours. Can't wait till Powersupport Crystal arrive from US.

I'm not convinced that there are any that don't impair the screen quality. I have used invisible shield since the 3G and was always happy with it until I used it on a iPhone 4. Maybe it's time I stopped re using the same one! LOL

I'm not sure if there are any that don't effect the screen quality, or have a very limited impact!

Powersupport Crystal has been outstanding for me in the past.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

what about the invisible screen protector by shield (",) ....

Pain the a*s to put on and you get a ripple effect afterwards. Also feels weird/frictiony

Victim of online fraud?

I ordered mine a week ago, decided to change the delivery address to my parents this friday just gone (received email from Apple to confirm the address had been changed), then on saturday I get another email confirming another change...

I log on to my Apple account, and find that somehow the delivery address has again changed, but to a random address up north (I live in the south).

I have taken a screenshot with the fake address, changed my password, and changed the delivery address back to my parents.

Today I phoned my local police constabulary to be told that I have to take this matter up with Apple, and only if they confirm that a criminal act has been carried out can I take it up with the police constabulary relevant to the address up north.

I am waiting for Apple to phone me tomorrow to see if they can determine how the address was changed.

If Apple cannot tell me how the address changed, then I am stumped as to how someone has hacked my Apple account.

My Apple account password is not written down, I am a Mac user and have WPA2 security enabled on my Airport Extreme; can my details still be obtained? I don't frequent dodgy websites (well not intentionally) and don't believe there is any malware installed on my comp.

This may sound crazy, but I find it a little strange that this has happened the day after I set up iCloud and sync my contacts and mail from my current iPhone. Maybe it's just coincidence though.

You might think optimistic, but when I ordered my MBP I received the despatch confirmation the night before it arrived, literally the email was like 23:10hrs.

Good to know. I don't know how the couriers typically work, but I guess they have Sundays off? So Tuesday would be the earliest, maybe?

So far I've tried to get it to drop signal and I haven't been successful.

I ordered mine on the 9th of October. [16GB White iPhone4S for £499]
The order has not shipped yet and the shipping date is claimed to be somewhere in b/w next week.

Some questions for the UK folks:

- What is the best 3G network in the UK? Is it three?
- Three offers unlimited data in some of their plans which is very tempting.

Is there anyway I could get unlimited minutes and unlimited data on the same network?

----------

Sweeping statement, not something I have experienced, I spend anything up to two hours a day on phone calls and have never had a call drop or cut out, so your post is misleading simply because you are trying to convince people (or maybe yourself) that you are getting a better service. For every happy customer will be an unhappy customer, in my house we use Three, O2 and Vodafone and we all rate THree as the worst of the bunch for a variety of reasons. Sure I can talk to someone about an issue at any time of the day, but I usually can't understand a word they are saying, sometimes because of their broken english, others because of the appalling cal quality with them being so far away. To be honest I have never had to make a service call in the middle of the night, so a call centre only open 9-5 is not a major issue.

I don't think I have seen a no service indicator other than when I have been in a place that no phone would get a signal.

Do keep banging your drum though, you seem to enjoy it, even if its not really honesty you are pedalling.

People have their own experiences so it is incorrect to call them misleading. I used O2 from Dec 2008 to June 2010 and boy it dropped almost 2 - 3 calls in a day. I live in Greater Manchester but moved to Northampton for some work.

They barred my access to the network for a couple of days when I was stuck in some low lying area around Birmingham with the excuse that I hadn't paid their bills although I had. They cleared that mess by sending an apology email.
Their customer service is terrible and so is their network coverage. I stayed in one of the very posh areas in manchester in around 2009 and surprisingly they didn't have 3G coverage there. They had 2G access for the most part and sometimes I was fortunate to connect to the OpenBTClient wifi.

Point being, O2 has been the worst carrier for me in the UK. I have been using three for a while on a dumb phone for the purpose of Skype. It has worked out well, but I am not sure if they actually have a good service for high speed voice and data.

Cheers!

The best by far is the SGP Steinheil EX Ultra Crystal. You can get front and back covers too. Easy to apply, and once on you would not be able to tell that it's there!

Available via eBay and Amazon. :)

Incidentally, I have no connection with the company.
Bah, I just ordered some Phone Devils ones. At least I'll be able to put something on it while I wait. :p
Hope it's easy enough to apply even after you've been using the phone for a few days.

Also, thanks for the input. It's been doing my head in trying to find a particular screen protector after initially deciding not to use one at all!

I'm not aware of one who offer unlimited calls, but 'The One Plan' on Three has 2000 minutes of calls, how many more would you want?!

Three claim they're the biggest, and they've come out well in various surverys. I know people who've had bad experiences with them - their customer service in particular - but more people who've said they're happy with them- some who've switched from O2, one who switched from Orange. The positive comments, the unlimited data and the fact that tethering is allowed on 'The One Plan' were enough to convince me to switch to them for my iPhone. (My old phone is a 2G only one and I've been on O2, happy enough with them for calls and texts but they're far too expensive for data.)

Its also suggested they're investing to cover areas they don't, possibly more than other networks- which might be true, given they don't have a 2G network to automatically fallback on- they have a roaming agreement with Orange in areas they don't cover or have very poor coverage, but its just for calls and texts, not data.

Worth remembering that T Mobile and Orange are gradually merging together and so you'll be able to use both networks for data- I believe that will only happen where is no signal on one network, rather than a poor signal.

Which one is 'best' depends on where you are! Use each ones postcode checker.

Unfortunately, my experience is that they do scratch, and I speak as someone who is careful with his stuff and takes care to avoid damage.

I found the 4's rear glass scratches a lot easier than the front. I've always thought a screen protector was a waste of time as my 4 and 3GS didnt scratch at all on the front.

...Use each ones postcode checker.

I did that with Vodafone when I was hunting for a sim-only deal. It displayed my area as having good 3G signal whereas in truth it was only possible to get 3G outside and even then it was unreliable. No point in owning a smartphone if you're half the time stuck on 2G.

With Three I get a solid 3/4 bars of 3G even inside. I've even had signal in the middle of a field in rural Lincolnshire at my folks.

Just been into Manchester Arndale and the 4s is still sold out (knew it would be).

My main reason for going was because the vodafone live chat assistant said I could buy the 4s on PAYG in their stores. Manchester store said no I can't. Wasted journey.

Haa!

I need more like unlimited rather than 2000 minutes. :D

Reason being those times, when I call my wife back in India for hours. I don't have a landline at my place as of now, so I need unlimited minutes for this.
There seems to be an app on the appstore - chattimeapp who have a great service for international calling but works only on the iPhone. For $14.99, I have unlimited international if I have unlimited landline calling.

One thing, Three allows tether on the 'One Plan', free of cost? That's one big deal for me and I can give up international calling just for this.

The lack of a 2g service is sometimes a pain
The CS are pretty poor too

I've just moved onto 3 with a payg micro sim (been with them for ages with my iPad) and, having been ready for little or no 2g service I was surprised to see GPRS engaged when I was out of 3G range. Or am I getting it wrong and 2g would be edge? I haven't seen edge yet!?!

So far (a week in) coverage locally is way better than I had with O2 or Orange. Just need the new phone now as the pathetic wi-fi and death grip have driven me nuts with the iphone 4!!

Numerous times I've said to people that the only reason I stuck with the iPhone 4 was for all it is as well as a phone cos the phone bit was awful!!!

Today I went to the Apple Store in Southampton but all of the iPhone 4S were gone, what a pity !.
Do you think is possible to get it for tomorrow?

The included minutes do not cover international calls so if you need to call India a lot then ignore this as a decision maker. Skype (or similar) would be better.

Tethering is included in the one plan monthly charge and is also unlimited.

3 use Orange for their 2G service which is only GPRS.

Ummm might it be a good idea to ask before you leave the apple store in Southampton the next time???

You could maybe ring them and ask now? (I'm sure google or apple website will have their number!!!)

Any of you guys that have your phones from the Apple store or any other network i have a question. Are all of you lacking the "Enable 3G" switch in network settings or is just a network-specific thing? Thanks a lot.

Mate, I am not dumb :D. I spoke with a Genius and he didn't know when they would be available.

They said that they had "plenty" stock this morning. I called back 5 minutes later as I forgot to ask something, they had no stock then.
