I'm no longer getting the all products unavailable page, back to the iPhone unavailable page.
 
I think we're out of luck, the website clearly isn't broken, they just had very little stock.

It's a store down south, I don't want to name it in case some idiot reserves with no plans to pick it up, just so it's no longer available.
 
Yes they do. They are brown box stock and not normal retail stock. In other words it's just the phone itself although brand new. For an issue like that they should replace it on the spot. Make sure you have a current back up before you take it in so you can restore it to the new phone.

I ordered an iPhone 4S to a friend of mine living in UK last night from store.apple.com/uk. The order is still processing. Is this normal? I'm scared that they might cancel it because i am not in the UK but i am having them deliver to a friend in UK, whom will bring to me. Can they cancel because it is a foreign credit card?

Emir, when they realise that the credit card and billing address are "foreign" to the U.K., I believe that they will cancel the order.

It happened to me when I tried to order the original iPad from the U.S. store for delivery to a friend in the U.S.A.

Your best approach is probably to get your friend in the U.K. to make the purchase for you :)

Grrr.....

...so today, 3 days later than the rest of the UK (I'm in Northern Ireland) I got my shiny new toy. One excited unboxing later, I was ready to go. Then....

....I got the "Invalid SIM" message and shortly afterwards, the "No SIM" one. A quick google later and I saw that there are many others in a similar position. There appears to be no consensus re why, but many have solved the problem y obtaining a new SIM. Indeed I have a 3 Ireland one that is working suggesting that the iPhone isn't the problem.

Now Orange tells me that it will be 3-4 days before they can send me a replacement SIM. I could get one instore but it wouldn't have the same number and I am not prepared to lose mine which I've had for 10 years.

Nothing today... :(

And to rub it in, two colleagues have got hold of handsets from carriers. It appears Apple have favoured the carriers and sold the majority of the 4S stock to them.

your not the only one. a few people including my self have the same delivery date and mine still says processing item. has apple took the money from your account yet? they've not taken any thing from my account yet
