UK iPhone 4S thread.

No chance getting through- got as far as the checkout and got stuck with a 'loading' screen. Now time for a thesis supervision meeting D:
 
Going to be a brilliant week for me next week - it's my birthday on the 13th and I know I am getting a 13" mba and some withings scales (lot of money floating about for once, we just sold a house. We're spending it whilst we got it !) Then the 4s all being well next day. I will be in Apple heaven !

One confirmation email at the moment... I am going to wait until all are confirmed then keep the one with the earliest delivery date!

Mmm, Apple aren't very good at delivering to Northern Ireland on time, can't remember anything ever arriving when it should. Saying that, if it hasn't shipped in good time I'll just cancel and queue up on the 14th at the Apple Store. Cheers for the information though :)

I couldn't do it again....you'd need to be at the store for 3am to have a chance of getting out with your sanity lol...

If I have to wait a couple of days I'll survive...its going to be months before a jailbreak is ready anyway :eek:

Just had a thought, got two processing order errors and it went through on the third attempt. Hope they don't take the money 3 times!!! lol

I had a processing order error on my first on, tried again and now have had emails confirming both of them!

I am trying to cancel one of them right now.:mad:

I thought the 4S included a USB adapter in the EU? Or did you just want a spare?
 
Apologies for asking what might be obvious questions but it seems this is the place to ask :)

Ive currently got a 3GS out of contract on O2. Been so for a good few months waiting for the 4S to be released.

I intend to buy my 4S on the day of release, at the Cambridge Apple Store. Can I assume if you want to buy on the day you dont need to pre order? Pre orders are all about delivery not reserving one in store?

If im currently on O2 and might want to change provider etc. When you purchase the phone in an Apple shop... do they have the ability to set you up with any provider you choose or do you need to go to a specific phone shop afterwards to set it up? Or is it an online thing? When I purchased my 3GS I believe your only option was O2. Now there are so many providers how does it work when you purchase it in an Apple shop?

At the moment Vodafones 12 month contracts look inviting.

If I do want to change from O2, depending on the packages provided... how do I keep my number? Is it like other phones where you need a PAK number etc. Or can you just get all this sorted out in the Apple store on the day? If I stick with O2 can I assume they can just swap the simcard from my current 3GS in store.

Might I need to buy the 4S, then wait a few days once its mine to allow whoever I have the phone with to change my number?

I got two errors before on the third attempt I got through. Just checked my orders page and only one phone is there thank god!!!
 
For those of you not getting a confirmation screen - check "Your Orders" in your account. Mine went though, even though I had tried about 3x beforehand. No email confirmation yet though.

I just noticed that in the store on the page where you select your model, it says iPhone order limit: two per customer. If I was anyone who'd ordered more than that, either on purpose or by accident, I'd be inclined to reduce my order back to two without delay rather than run the risk of Apple cancelling any larger orders outright. Of course they might not, but personally I wouldn't want to take the chance.

I'm wondering the same thing. The screen froze after I clicked on the 'Place my order' button before returning to the main 'how to buy' screen. Not even sure if the transaction went through.
 
Managed to get mine through on about the 10th attempt

Original attempt was almost complete until my bank decided it was fraudulent transaction and blocked it :(

Finally...! I got through the ordering process and got an order number in the 'Thank You' page. Now I have to double check the order history to make sure I haven't ordered multiply. But the site keep gives me an Oops error.

I haven't got an email confirmation yet, but I guess it will come soon.

Apple order confirmation emails always take several hours to come through, whenever you order. Its not instant like other online stores, I think they do some further checks before they confirm your order.

I know some people are getting theirs straight away, but based on previous experience don't be worried if you don't even get one today - I've not had mine yet. Last year on iPhone 4 launch I ordered first thing and confirmation email was sent 11:20 that night.
