Yeah, email confirmation just arrived for my white 64GB:D

Mine too! + The money has been taken!

20 mins after I ordered it my bank rings up going 'there has been suspicious activity on your card' :p. I was like iPhone baby!

Just to let you know, I'm a pretty light user with only the occasional call that last quite long. Im on O2 simplicity and have always bought the iPhone outright. Done the same today, it's on it's way for the 14th.

However my bills are regularly over the amount, they are usually around £18-£20.

Benefit of Simplicity is that you can just sell the phone and stop the contract, or just carry on the low contract with another phone whenever you want. Not that I've done that haha, so I guess I pay the same overall compared to having it on a large contract.

Went through the order process and it timed out, did it again and it completed. Now I have 2x Black iPhone 4S 16Gb on preorder/processing. They have already allocated the money aswell. Do I cancel one, or keep them and eBay one? :S

not really cost effective - its 199 from voda on a 12 month paying £46 monthly = £751
it costs £499 from apple, that means I would need to find a sim only deal for £21 monthly over 12 months.

actually, I stand pretty much corrected lol. O2 do a Sim Only deal for iPhone at 21.50 monthly and gives 600mins and unlimited texts with 500mb monthly - its 25.50 monthly if have 1Gb

decisions decisions

You're paying more... and yet its not cost effective?

WHY? You will still get a phone on the 14th..... just because you havnt ordered it? is that a big deal?

You seriously think that ordering on the 12th, that i will get it on the 14th?.

Dunno if i wanna take the chance tbh..

Ah, I forgot how much I missed the manic excitement of an iPhone pre-launch!

I guess that by this afternoon once we get over the mad server-bashing rush we'll all know if it was worth the stress - either you'll just be able to go on to the Store website and order an iPhone 4S as easy as pie, or they'll be showing either revised shipping dates or even the dreaded 'Out of Stock' and we'll know it was worth it.

Then we've got the next few days of relative calm with the occasional posts about shipping dates and 'will it be with me on 14th', and then the 14th will arrive and it will go crazy again with the 'Mine has just arrived' and the 'Where is the courier?' posts getting even more desperate as the day passes...

I love this stuff and hate it at the same time!

I've been looking into all this too... at the moment (as O2 havnt got prices up) vodafone seem the cheapest for 12 month contract!

32gb phone over 12 months total cost on all tariffs £831 so you'd just have to decide if you want to pay more per month and get more minutes but have lower initial out lay..

im toying on what todo my self! Cheapest thing todo over 12 months! HMmmmm

Don't forget resale value when you come to sell your iPhone - unlocked will sell at a premium over one locked to a network.

yes, thats 2 days..... next day delivery...

or go into the store!

Maybe O2 are waiting to see what all the other providers are doing before they release their tariffs.. and beat everyone?

I'm on o2, and can't upgrade till 17th december, so i'm waiting anyway! BOOO!

Do whatever you want of course, but a sim only deal + handset cost will save you money over time, than £45 a month!

Just ordered 32GB Black 4S!

I was going to choose white but it brings too much attention since it stands out.

Well it's taken an hour but finally got my White 4S 32Gb ordered :D

I reserved for in store pick up last time which was super smooth. Did those ordering for delivery get theirs on release date last year?

How?

I've been sat looking into this for a couple of days.... Can you show me some figures please... or explain a little!

Here is what i came up with..
Vodafone
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/brands/iphone/pay-monthly-iphone/index.htm

12 months contract with vodafone
£41 per month.
500 mb
600 minutes
32gb phone £339
total cost £831
Actual monthly costs £69.25

Again sim only 12 months sim only with o2
£21.50 per month
500mb data
600 minutes
32gb phone £599
total £857
actual monthly cost £71.41

its cheaper to sign up with vodafone overall, yes its £41 per month, but overall its cheaper! you can still sell the phone on both contracts to get money back.... so I don't understand any other cheaper way... your getting the same minutes and everything!

In fact, if you paid £46 per month, you would get 900 minutes, and 750mb internet.. still for a total year cost of £831!

Cancel duplicate orders?

Has anyone managed to cancel their duplicate orders? Both mine are now processed and I have the cancel button available but it just gives me the Oops error

Judging be previous launches, I wouldn't be surprised if O2 and the other providers don't even have any idea how much launch-day stock they will have available yet. Maybe rather than have its fingers burnt again, O2 is hoping it might have a better indication by 12th.

Yeah probably, but is this loosing them business... if vodafone over sell and dont have stock for the 1st day, what are they going todo about it? Nothing, probably hope that people don't cancel the contract and wait a few more days...

I can't see o2 waiting just to check stock levels? must be something else..

ordered my 64G white 4S, finally and got confirmation email so can relax now.

Ordered mine over phone with Orange at 8:45am. Took 20 minutes to get through and they had 220 people in the queue they said.

They said it will be here in 30 days, obviously their get out clause as they Probably don't know until Monday how many phones they will have for launch day.

Gone for the 64gb in white...
