Got my iPhone 4S 32GB white pre ordered about 8:40AM (UK). The store was taking its time to go up, but I kept refreshing. Had no problems placing the order. Got my confirmation email :) Can relax now!

Should receive my case and screen protectors soon! I'm on O2 (pay as you go) at the moment but once I use this months credit/texts/web I will be moving to GiffGaff which is £10 a month for 250 minutes/unlimited texts and unlimited web :D

This week is going to be long, I'm using an old Nokia 3310. The most fun thing to do on it is play Snake! Can't wait till I take delivery of my new iPhone :D

I'm guessing we can still que up on the morning of the launch at the O2 shop?

Seeing as im not going for the unlocked version with a sim only. As you can get it unlocked through O2 anyways, and its only generally a saving of around £50 anyways.

Might have missed a thread somewhere, but I can't see any reference to Applecare+, even when ordering. It looks like regular Applecare is offered during the purchase process.

I would really like the accidental cover, does anyone know if this is a deliberate US-Only thing?

Hi all, I've just pre-ordered my 16gb black model... I'm going to have to be honest - seeing £499 disappearing like that definetly leaves its mark :D
What i found strange is that Apple billed me immediately... Didnt happen when i bought the ipad 2.

Anyone knows why?

Are you sure they actually billed you, or have they just pre-authorised the transaction which will put a hold in the money in your account (the money will still be there, you just can't spend it for a few days)?

GiffGaff do Microsims ( unless thats what you mean )

It says on their website that they don't:

Unfortunately giffgaff as a company will not be supplying any MicroSims at this time.

We have not produced any MicroSims as yet but we are looking into it. There is no timeframe yet for the product.

However we are aware that some devices use MircoSims alone. For example:
iPhone 4
iPad

giffgaff users are allowed to use a MicroSim in any mobile phone handset that uses MicroSim technology but we DO NOT permit the use of these in the iPad.

The use of a giffgaff D.I.Y MicroSims in an ipad, dongle or any other device except a mobile phone is strictly forbidden under clause 5.11 of our terms and conditions. Click 'here' to view our terms and conditions.

We have had a lot of discussion on the forum within our ideas section and some of our excellent forum members have taken the initiative. You can click 'here' to view the discussion on our ideas section.

A forum member has also agreed to rent out a communal cutter that will come in handy. To order it here.

If you fancy a bit of D.I.Y then another forum member has designed a cutting template so you can manually cut your SIM. Click here to get a MicroSim cutting template. You can cut your SIM so it fits you iPhone4.

While our community has been active in the use and production of MicroSims giffgaff are not responsible for any damage caused in their D.I Y production.

Hey guys... I have three iPhones that went through. I have all three confirmation emails... Should i cancel the two orders that went through later and keep the earliest order?

The first two came up with the Ooops message, the last order went through.

Yeah I'm curious with this too. I thought they only billed once they shipped the item?!

Maybe they have put them on the van for delivery already?! Ha kidding - would be nice though eh?! ;)

I've had one in my iPhone 4

I hear ya. It took me about 30mins before I could get in to see the details. Hang in there dude. :)

i feel quite smart. I went to a different apple store i knew would be less busy, like the Japan store.. logged in, no orders !:eek:

Now what ? do i just assume it will show up later when its not so busy or what ? i'm not liking this now  I ordered it from the Apple Store App, maybe thats why.

This is so awkward, i can't go an order another one incase i get charged twice

whats so great about vv? for £10 more a month you want to see something on your phone that you could listen to in seconds... *shakes head* just get the giff gaff and stop the riff raff coz you know it makes sense

Its not that much cheaper if you want 800 minutes! even at the 400 minute tariff its £15 per month, £180 per year, plus £599 phone £779 total, saving you £52 over the year.... yeah its £52, but for customer service that you can just phone up, and vv, maybe its worth that extra £52?

doesn't vodafone do VV?

First time I've done it like this - for those of you that are veterans at this, how soon after release date did you receive your iPhones?

I have my O2 Simplicity sim on order and should have that in a few days so all set and waiting to pop it into the new handset :apple:

Most got them on launch day but a few of us got emails a couple of days before saying ours would be delayed, and I think those turned up Monday. The emails said that this was due to where we lived, but that didn't really hold up as there were people living in the middle of Manchester and Birmingham etc.

Tell me, that £499 I paid has already come out of my account and I pre ordered about 15mins ago, and no confirmation email - they're like a tramp on chips

With regards to GiffGaff and topping up £10 a month, is it like 02 and t-mobile where after your month if you haven't topped up your £10 will start to decrease? Or do you start getting charged outside of the £10 if you dont top up after a month? Thanks

Good question... and what if you go over your minutes? How do you get billed?

Yep, looks like you're right. Thanks for the link, just ordered one. I guess giffgaff need to update their site a bit better!

I have ordered one, just out of curiosity!

That's not Giffgaff's official site. That's just someone who gets giffgaff sims and then cuts them down to size foryou.

Nothing has left your account yet - Apple have requested your card company reserve £499 as an authorisation which they will later use when they despatch the phone to *actually* take £499 out. If you cancelled your order the authorisation would simply expire and the £499 'hold' would be released.

with regards to giffgaff one of the technical directors actually has a deal with o2 which giffgaff are owned by, to state that your not allowed to put it in your iphone, if your a little girl and are scared then dont do it, but if your a man or a woman, then just do it, the worse that can happen is they block your internet until your next monthly usage, or you could get tracked down and arrested... only joking nothing will happen stop worrying and live a little jeeezzz

Just switched my 02 monthly rolling simplicity to 12 months.

£16.50 with 500mb, unlimited text and 300 mins.
Ordered a microsim at the same time.

I called them and they said they were very busy this morning due to the 4S, and they said the site should be updated soon but they don't know when!

You need to top up before it expires.

No, you don't get billed.
