This might be a stupid question 
Just been browsing 9to5... and they are saying unlocked iphone 4s' wont be arriving till November.
Now, im not sure if this is the case in the UK... but how can Apple stores be selling iphones at there unlocked price in store... £500 etc... on launch day if unlocked phones arnt coming till November?
Am I missing something? Can I pick up an unlocked iphone next friday in the UK and put a simplicity tarrif sim in?

I've recommended GiffGaff to many friends and they have never looked back - it really is a brilliant thing they are doing I just wish more people knew about them. I would be with them but O2 reception is awful in my house so I'm with Three.

Just the upfront cost might be a bit more-as upfront cost goes down in price during the year-the longer the phone has been out.

Unlocked in November refers to US only.

Only in the US, other countries have unlocked phones from 14th October.
Ordered at 8:40 and had my confirmation email by 9:20...

That's in the US - they run iPhone sales differently over there.
So if we look at the £35pm deal and £99 for the phone it works out to be:
(35 x 24) + 99 = £940
(940 - 500) / 24 = £18.33
It'll still be by far the best deal around however unless you need the minutes I would say you're probably better off buying the phone outright.

Just ask instore for a microsim and then top it up with £15 and buy the add-on online and it should work. Or just get the sim and cut it down yourself.
it will be someone who is on giffgaff now flogging their referral sims as both parties get £5 credit when you do that, also if you actually want a micro sim (without having to cut it down yourself) you need someone to pre cut it down for you and some of the community do that.

When you get the mirosim pay as you go.
You top up £15.
Then convert this £15 to an add on.
The £15 credit will transfer to 300 minutes, 3000 text and all you can eat data.

Some three stores may charge £5 for a micro sim.
Better to order online for home delivery (free) you also get another pay as you go normal sim to give to a friend...

Order went through straight away. Had One-Click activated, so only took 20 seconds to place the order.
However, no confirmation e-mail yet, and nothing has come off my credit card. No pre-authorisation. Balance is the same, available credit is the same.
But my order is there on my account on the Apple site, and still says Dispatched: Ships by October 14th"
