Come on tesco!

3 have by far the best deals so far, but I'm hopeful that tesco will reveal a blinding 12 month contract :)

Everyone who has asked me for a GiffGaff microSIM now has one in the mail (check your PMs to confirm, please).

Anyone else who wants one can pre-order one for delivery around the middle of next week (just in time for the iPhone 4s!). PM me your address and I'll mail one out to you, gratis. You get £5 free when you top up for the first time (and I get 500 'community points').

All the best,

Mike

The 3 deal is better if you're going to tether. If you're not then I would go with Giffgaff. :)

You can use hotspot on the iphOne and connect upto 5 devices like having a mifi with you.

Unlimited Internet all you can eat data.

Connect your mac/iPad on to the hotspot and enjoy unlimited data for the low price only on three

Having done a bit of reading it seems as though tethering is only allowed if you choose the £25 1 month contract "One plan", as people who have been tethering with the payg add on have been blocked after a few days from doing so.

Anyone had any luck reserving for collection with apple. I phoned but was told they didnt know if they were doing that yet ?

So it looks like queueing, what do you think my best bet is , apple retail store , or O2 retail store ? Planning on getting there for 6:30-7 at latest .

IIRC it took a few days after the main providers for Tesco to start offering the iPhone4, and their initial stock allocation was dire. If you're willing to wait, then Tesco are likely to come up with something good, if you want something on the 14th then I wouldn't hold your breath. That said, things might be different this time round. I was going to say that demand/supply for the 4S might be better than it was for the 4, but judging by the shipping dates now showing I'm not so sure...

Ordered around 10.30am, just received order confirmation email stating ship by 14th October!

received - Thanks, I can't wait to be on board :D

This might be a stupid question :) Just been browsing 9to5... and they are saying unlocked iphone 4s' wont be arriving till November.

Now, im not sure if this is the case in the UK... but how can Apple stores be selling iphones at there unlocked price in store... £500 etc... on launch day if unlocked phones arnt coming till November?

Am I missing something? Can I pick up an unlocked iphone next friday in the UK and put a simplicity tarrif sim in?

My experience with apple is that all of those "confirmations" are liable to change near the last moment and there are going to be some irate customers on the 14th when they discover that they won't be getting their phones as promptly as they thought.
They know that most people won't cancel their orders at that point because it would mean even longer delays, so they are stuck waiting.
The only ones who may actually get a phone on the 14th are the ones who have been camping out in line at a store, assuming that they don't run out.

No pre-orders on o2 at all for 4S. That's a bit of a fail. Especially after one of their staff told me I could pre-order a couple of days ago. Egg on my face.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration - I'd say that the majority of people who've been given delivery dates of 14th will get them then, but yes, based on track record there will be a significant minority who get let down either by Apple (usually with advance notification) or by courier companies who run out of time of the day.

Quite so, I have had an iPhone that was delivered early so that's almost the complete opposite. Although I have always managed to get an order put through within 5 mins of "go live" time on website.

Just a heads up you will get your delivery according to the delivery drivers route schedule, if your on the way of his route youl more than likely get it quicker if your not even close then you can dream on for 14th october...
