I'd check that Barclays plan if i were you - IIRC their mobile phone insurance has a higher iPhone excess of either £50 or £75 but is lower for every other smart phone. I could be wrong though - let me know either way!

Looking through their T&Cs, they do NOT differentiate types of phones. So in other words, all are classed the same, e.g £25 excess 1st claim, £50 excess 2nd claim.

Obviously, the best way to find out would be speaking to an advisor over the phone or in branch, or, somebody who banks with them with this package.

Do we think the shipping has gone to 1-2 weeks because a lot of people accidentally ordered more than 1?

If we have already had a confirmation mail for the 14th October thats not going to change though is it? IS IT? TALK TO ME PEOPLE!

Three pre orders

Getting the error message on the three website as soon as I try click on the preorder link now....

Hopefully they are sorting the issue out...

Unreleated slightly

So do we think iPad 2 will get Siri seeing as it's basically the same hardware? Unless there is a special "Siri Chip" we don't know about in the 4S...

EDIT: Sorry, did not see this when I looked but I opened my eyes second search! https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1239294/

I just wish I had a confirmation e-mail

Ordered at 8:42 this morning, and still no confirmation e-mail from Apple, though if I log into my account, my order is sitting there (with an order number).

Would still like the security of having a confirmation e-mail though

Wasn't there this issue last year when Apple CS reps said it would be dispatched on release day, but they were mis-informed and we did actually received our iPhone 4s on release day.

It seems to me like a carbon copy of last year.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It all depends when you did the order, and how much stock they have. If you were one of the first, you will get it on the 14th, if not, then it will be after. Simples.

I understand that the phone will be shipped by that date, so it could be shipped this Thursday. It might be delivered to you on the next few days.

Same here:)

A £20 goodybag on GiffGaff would get you; 800 UK minutes, unlimited UK texts, unlimited mobile internet. On top of that you'd get free giffgaff to giffgaff calls, call forwarding, video calls, etc and texts (for up to three months with just one goodybag). No contract :) Plus you get 0800 & 0500 numbers free and the call rate out of allowance is 10p per minute.

I just top up the £10 one each month (250 minutes, unlimited texts + internet). More than enough for me and as it's pre-pay I don't get Tesco messing up my bills each month and charging me extra (as they did with the iPhone 4)...

If you're referring to GiffGaff, they do not allow tethering. Unlimited Web is for phones only.

Yep, and they've literally launched a 'data only' product this week.

£12.50 per month gives you 3GB of data.

I think that's a bit high considering that ~£8 will get you a 3GB/3mo Three SIM from a well known auction or book selling site.

Me too. I would also like to be able to actually log into my account because I keep getting a "we'll be back soon" store message when I do. Argh. Money not reserved on my cc either.

Anyone upgrading from iPhone 4?

i was seriously considering it then thought, it wasnt worth it, and the more i think about it the more i think im right!

What? Hope you can find out why -- quickly..
First agent said the he did not know why, and told me to repurchase, second one says it's not cancelled but is looking further into it as I type.

They've got hold of two charges.

He's just ask me to contact my bank, Lloyds TSB

Yeah I did. Reason being that my iPhone 4 was already sold, and I have recently sold a SGS2 so I had the phone for nothing with money left over. Why not!

Plus the 4S has a meaty spec under that familiar shell ;)

bit the bullet and bought with Vodafone on a 12 month deal. superb customer service. £60 off and 3 months of unlimited data. Ta ra o2.

How did you get the £60 off and the unlimited data?

EDIT: Just checked out the website. :)

Do they actually even find out though? My friend has been tethering to his PS3 since December last year and he's still doing it.

I truly don't know. My best guess is that it depends on whether they bother monitoring your usage. If you have a significantly high data throughput and it is mainly non-mobile web traffic e.g. file downloads, non-mobile web pages, then they may ask you to stop. But this is only a guess. It's not easy for them to snoop.
