That's Not Right

Update: Lloyds TSB cleared the funds to Apple - looks like Apple have cocked up on my order; they've confirmed that they've got my money, or a hold on it at least.

I'd get on to them, Apple have never taken funds from my account until after the good's have been dispatched.....In fact, more often than not, they take the money after they have delivered my stuff.

Took them a week to take funds after my iMac was delivered. Same with my MBA. Can't remember how long it was with my phone though.

Finally....Phew!

Just got my e-mail confirmation for my order placed at 8:43 this morning. Only took 12 1/2 hours to confirm it with me!!

Still says ships by October 14th

Let's hope it's like last year and it arrives on launch day (or possibly the 13th)

Thanks - but I've been told that the only thing I can do is make a new order, whilst Apple continues to hold my money.

Time to email Tim, the supervisor and the guy I spoke to didn't know why it was cancelled. The bank confirmed that no block was in place.

I've now to wait until the 28th to hear anything.

Sorry to hear it. I hope that you get it sorted and please let us know what happens, please.

Not any more Mike. Prices increased to the £12.50-£13.50 mark a while ago.

Cheapest at the moment is £11.49.

You're right! Wow, prices for these 'disposable' accounts fluctuate wildly.

All the best,

Mike

When I spoke to CS about the money aspect (and this could be the CS not really knowing what they are talking about...again!), they said, if it is a debit card, they pre-authorise the full amount.

If it is a credit card, they pre-authorise £1

I checked my CC earlier today, and it has an available balance of £1 less than the credit limit minus the balance, so that kind of ties in with what they told me, so worth just checking the balance, and available credit tally.

Yeah, that works out for me, ta for confirming that. Still haven't had my confirmation email but finally got my order status out of the Apple store account and it confirms it went through and is "processing" (although then after that it says "dispatched, ship by the 14th October.") I got nervous because my shipping address is different from my billing address (I just moved house last week and my bank hasn't updated my addresses yet.) But it sees to be no probs at the moment.

So there is still hope. I ordered around the same time and still no mail for me. Btw I see my order on orders page and it's on processing and delivery by 14th.

I haven't decided if I'm upgrading yet, if I do then I'll head up to Apple, Westfield Stratford City on Friday hoping that they will have plenty in-store.

I've never had an iPhone on contract, I bought the first iPhone from the US and then always sell them on and put the rest towards the new handset, this is never more than what I would pay for the handset on a contract, plus I do not like being tied into a contract as I tend to upgrade every year.

I'm currently on the £15 GiffGaff deal for 400 minutes, unlimited text and internet. I would like to tether but the option has vanished and I'm not sure it's possible.

Three website is buggered, can't take orders... tells me to phone but want to get cashback so I'm pretty stuck.. will probably change my mind by tomorrow!!

The UK gets ripped off...

I am studying abroad here for the semester... I planned on buying the 4S until I learned that Apple basically acts like £1 = $1... The 16GB costs 800 USD here. That is just ridiculous. Sadly, I'll wait til January.

Side Note - I love the carriers here though... I get more minutes, text messages, and data Pay as You Go on o2 than I do on Verizon for less than half the cost.

Yep - there is no carrier profile for GiffGaff (you have to enter the APN manually). So, you can't tether a GiffGaff iPhone. You could jail break of course.

Who purchased from o2 on launch day last year?

Hi,

I am going to do my fast track upgrade with O2 and just want an idea to what time the queue starts to build.

Anyone on here who was in front 10? If so what time did you arrive before store opening?

I am tempted to just go to Apple store but as I have to pay fast track fee there and then, I'm a little hesitant to do it in Apple store as although they have gateway system, I'm not entirely convinced that there won't be any issues processing payment, then upgrading! :D

How long is left on your contract? If your fast track costs more or around £200, then personally, i would buy sim free, as the cost is going to be close once you have paid for the fast track upgrade and the subsidised handset price.

It's only gonna be around £80. If prices are similar to the 4 then gonna pick up 32GB on 12mth for £140, or 64GB if not much more.

You wont get a handset for £140 on a 12 month, O2 dont even do 12 month on iPhone tarriffs. Now, the only way you can currently get an iPhone 4 for £140 on 24 months is by paying for a £47 contract. Expensive. Or £52 for 18 months. Ouch.

I just canceled mine 32 gig order 10 min ago and asked for 64 gig instead. 32 was scheduled for 14 Oct so I lost that delivery date for 1 - 2 Weeks Delivers 21 Oct, 2011 - 28 Oct, 2011 instead. Oh well...if that not change then I might cancel again and try early trip next friday morning to local Apple store:D
But if that won't work out then I am screwed....:eek:

This is also what i'm doing - u[graded to '4' in June '10 - will fast-track my 4s upgrade also. When is o2 offering this, next friday also??

Those O2 tariffs don't include data though, you have to add that on afterwards. And considering it's £10 for 1GB of data I think those tariffs suck to be fair.

Just for info (I didn't see it in this tread) Quidco is offering £109 cash back for 4S pre-orders on 3. I think it applies to the One Plan only.
