Am assuming white will be popular - just hoping the 64gb is less popular!

The guy in the O2 store I spoke to said that the cheaper the phone, the quicker they sold out. So, I'd imagine that white 16gb will be the first to run out. 64gb has quite a price premium, so hopefully that will put most people off.

I'm still quite confident that I will be able to get one - I think getting there for about 6.30am will be early enough. I may not be first in the store, but don't mind so long as I get one.

My 3GS will be sold as soon as my new phone is set up. Mazuma mobile were giving more than O2recycle by the way...

Me too - last time I queued was for the 3GS. Also plan to trade in my iP4on O2 recycle. Have already set it up online (price valid as long as sent in within 14 days in case the price drops in store on Friday ;)

You think the price for the iPhone 4 will drop much after friday on 02 recycle?

Ordered mine through Orange over the phone, has anybody ordered with them (or ordered with them in the past)? What are they like for on the day delivery?

Ordered an iPhone 4S on Saturday night through Vodafone, but haven't heard back aside from this message....

Vodafone said:
Before we can complete your order we will need to do a credit check using the details you provided. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long and we'll be in touch with the results as soon as it is done. If everything is fine, we will send you an email with your confirmed delivery details.

I figured I'd probably hear back today (first business day). Anyone else stuck at this step?

I pay £46 per month, and i'm still a silver customer, they won't allow me to upgrade till december!

Jordan

Has the fast track upgrade section been removed from your My O2? I first saw it on here and called to query and was advised that customers on £40+ and upgrading to a similar plan will be eligible for it.

I am Gold as I have had a few ridiculous bills but they said I was eligible based on my plan, nothing else. I would double check online or give them a call! :D

does anyone know if apple will be doing upgrades instore on behalf of networks like they did with the iPhone 4? if so i will just que up outside the apple store for my high five :D lol

I did a pre order with them around two years ago and I got the next email 2 or 3 working days later. I know this is on a shorter timescale to get it on launch day but sounds normal from my experience.

Hahahaha, they didn't do that in my store last year :( but I wasn't there till almost midday. To answer your question, yes you can do contracts and upgrades in Apple store! :D

I've seen a little discussion on tariff plans and which to go for, thought i'd just add what I am doing, maybe save some of you some money in the long run:

I have a Tesco mobile pay as you go sim. If you top up £10 in a month you get £30 worth of credit, £2/week for unlimited data and £5 for 5000 messages. presuming a 4 week month (obviously months are a bit longer) thats works out at £10 for unlimited data per month (fair usage: I think 500mb/week 2gb/month), 5000 sms and 170 minutes (the remaining £17 at 10p/min) for £10/month. The only down side of this is the initial cost of the iPhone. (12 Months 16gb iPhone = £619)

The cheapest o2 plan I can find (per month) (using o2 because Tesco use the o2 network) is £21.00 on a 12 month plan and without data (+£3 for 100mb) so £23.00 for 100 minutes, 500 texts and 100mb and requires a £429.99 payment for the phone. (Total cost = £23.00*12 + £429.99 = £705)

I haven't done all the iterations but might be worth considering if you can afford the initial payment.

Summary:

o2 cheapest 12 Month contract total cost of ownership = £705 (5000 texts, 2gb data 170 minutes)
Using telco mobile pay as you go and buying iPhone sim free = £619 (500 texts, 100mb, 100 minutes)

nice one dude:D I'm after the 12month contract from 02, i know reading this thread a lot of you guys are leaving 02, but they've always seemed good to me, the worst network I've ever been on is three, but that was years ago so maybe they have changed now.

Hey there,

GiffGaff can beat that, on the same O2 network. I moved to them from Tesco back in July.

TESCO £10 per month = 170 minutes, 5000 texts, 2gb/mo web.

GIFFGAFF £10 per month = 350 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited web. Plus unlimited (not removed from your allowance) GiffGaff to GiffGaff calls and texts (for up to three months - no more top-ups needed).

The only thing that Tesco have that GiffGaff don't are their Clubcard points, although the savings on GiffGaff more than make up for it.

All the best,

Mike

"Shipped by" is an Americanism that typically translates as "will arrive by" i.e. the shipping process should complete by the date stated.

I hope so :)

And some chap in America (there's another thread on MacRumors) has had his ship already it seems.

Maybe we're just 24 hours away from the first user reviews?

All the best,

Mike

What do they say about leopards???? :D

Some people are leaving due to them not being given the choice, as O2 have placed a few t's and c's around who can buy one, even for existing customers.

I got an Apple store near me so although O2 will have less of a queue, Apple will have more stock, so I'm probably gonna head there.

yh i just read the thread 'warning 02 existing customers wishing to upgrade' that basically if your not on a £40+ contract then your not allowed to have one as its the highest payers first then the lower ones after. i had an email in the middle of september telling me that i was a gold costomer (£52 plus i kept going over here n there) so i went to simplicity (£26 + £6 data) funtil the 4s is launched, does that been i can't upgrade? its not even been a month yet! if so looks like i will be eating my kind words for 02 lol:eek:

If its not been a month yet then you will probably be fine. The only way anything could change for you is if your bill date is before 14th? I think!!!

Vodafone UK Preorders

Any thoughts on the chanced of getting these anytime soon after the 14th - I have preordered to get the £59 discount but VF continue to take orders and they can't have as much stock as this for launch. I feel a few weeks wait coming on! Sadly.

How come Americans get to track their phones from China?

3!

Hey everyone, does anyone know whether you can track your order with 3. They have said that i will receive an email when it ships but is there a location on the website which allows me to track my iPhone?

Anyone have any idea what time I should start queueing at the newcastle apple store ? I was thinking 3am ish but would that be too late to grab one ?

OK, if I up my tariff today to £42 from £35, will the thieving b*****ds at o2 allow me to fast-track on Friday?!

Anyone made this enquiry yet??!

Sadly I don't think so, if it did work however you would have to pay a higher upgrade fee

The charge is your normal monthly subscription charge multiplied by each complete month remaining of your minimum term or next Business upgrade date (as calculated by O2) less 20% and then less the VAT (where applicable) on that remaining figure

Its probably worth calling to check, I would say no as change will happen on bill date, but if that happens to be this week then you could be in luck. Mine is 13th, so should have reduction in fast track fee.

well i ordered mine over the phone, and i was told that i would receive a text when it was despatched!

just read that this iPhone is one of the most preordered phones of all time!
not bad considering all the nonsense about it about 30 mins after the keynote last week!
