You think the price for the iPhone 4 will drop much after friday on 02 recycle?

It is a possibility I suppose if a lot of people trade in ..... the price is always going to drop over time. I have nothing to suggest it could it was more that the thought occurred to me that I would be really peeved if they offered less by Friday in store.

O2recycle were not the best price for 32gb iphone 4 but only by anbout £10 and they guarantee not to mark down for general wear. I have a teeny scratch on my screen and hear that some companies drop trade in price when they receive the phone. Ideally I want to trade in at the store on Friday so I can just extend my contract and pay the tenner or so difference.

So are O2 micro sims and they have far better customer service. ;) :D

i told him this!

he was like... no no, im sure they charge something. i said i had the page open in front of me (which i did!) and he still denied it!!

so ive been into a store... they told me to call... think im gonna call a few more times tomorrow and see what other answers i get!

yeah thats what he was saying, he said something about you only get them with iphone 4's . i was like... last year you gave them out for free so people could transfer.

he seemed pretty clueless tbh, i had to explain a few times that i have a contract... i just want a micro sim so i can activate it when i get my iphone and start using it!

Are you buying sim free from Apple? Either way pop in to an Apple store as they may have micro sims

I must be very very lucky, cause i almost have full signal all day with three. :D

I have the One plan and i have used 70GB in 4 months :D

I find Three have a very, very good 3G network coverage. Where O2 conks out, I can usually get a Three 3G signal on my portable Mifi router.

I'd say Three > 02 for 3G (and now HSPA+) network coverage but O2 have the best value prices through their MVNO's like Tesco and GiffGaff.

Tried to pre-order through The Carphone Warehouse for the o2 variant today but wasn't successful. Anyone have any luck?

Yep. I rang them friday and asked about this, as I got my 3GS through them no hassle a few years ago back when that was the new shiny.

They were not doing it on O2 then, so the woman I was speaking to promised faithfully to ring me back today, when they reckoned they'd have news. I wasn't expecting to hear from her again to be honest, we all know how sales people are when they say "I'll call you back" right?

Now 8am this morning she did ring me, and said "We can do you a 64Gb iphone 4s as an upgrade to your O2 contract but they're selling out very fast, if you're interested it would be best to place the order now".

So long story short, I did and she offered me my choice of black or white. Chose the white as I've always had black iphones in the past and thought a change might be nice.

But there's more... she then told me that their system said they had the phones actually in stock and that her system was letting her assign my phone for next day delivery... tomorrow. I was doubtful but she insisted, so I've been quite excited all day, until she rang me at about 4pm and said that my phone was still totally in stock and reserved for me but that they'd been told they'd have to put them on hold until the launch on Friday. Not unexpected at all but still I was hoping!

Very impressed with both Carphone Warehouse in general and the customer service from Kim, I think her name was, in particular. I used to dislike carphone warehouse greatly after some problems in the past but given my experiences with the 4s order so far and the 3gs in the past I really can't recommend them highly enough. Much more organised about sorting out O2 customers than O2 are.

I ordered at around 4:30-5pm (fast track upgrade thingy), and the system wouldn't let me choose a white 16GB 4S :(, so just went for the black! Would rather have one there waiting for me, so I'm still a happy camper :)

anyones shipping status changed on the apple website?

Nope! Still says ship by 14th. I spoke to two different Apple reps today on the phone who both said that the item will be dispatched on Friday! Not sure if they are saying that just to cover themselves though!

Thanks for this, going to call up tomorrow.

Will they be able to hold it in store for the release for Friday?

Ordered an iPhone 4S on Saturday night through Vodafone, but haven't heard back aside from this message....

I figured I'd probably hear back today (first business day). Anyone else stuck at this step?

I got the first email and another one shortly after saying credit check is fine and next email will be dispatch details. Ordered Sat p.m. and got both emails on Sat. I'm an existing customer though.

Just ordered my iPhone 4S White 16GB :)

I was a 3GS guy but switched to the Samsung Galaxy S2 a few weeks ago, initially thought Android was good and liked the phone but found myself pining for iOS the last few days. Hopefully I'll get quite a bit for the Samsung on eBay, it's going to be nice to be back using the iPhone/iOS :)

Can't wait!

Anyone have any idea what time I should start queueing at the newcastle apple store ? I was thinking 3am ish but would that be too late to grab one ?

Depends which model - these are the latest times you will need to start queuing in Newcastle:

BLACK WHITE

16GB 4:17am 3:58am

32GB 3:46am 3:07am

64GB 4:35am 4:06am

If anyone wants to know what time they will need to start queuing at any different Apple store, I have all the times here so let me know.

What time do you think for the Trafford centre ?

Has the fast track upgrade section been removed from your My O2? I first saw it on here and called to query and was advised that customers on £40+ and upgrading to a similar plan will be eligible for it.

I am Gold as I have had a few ridiculous bills but they said I was eligible based on my plan, nothing else. I would double check online or give them a call! :D

I can upgrade, but I have to pay.. here is what it says on my account!
As a silver customer you can upgrade early with O2 Rewards. You can do this from 18 December 2011, or you can pay £91.92 to Fast Track Upgrade now

There is no way i'm paying to upgrade! Im even considering leaving them, so may swell just wait till december, i'm not as desperate as some people on here to make sure I have the phone at 6am on friday :D

Carphone Warehouse definetly have them in stock now and have assigned their pre-orders for delivery on Friday 14th. The email i got from them says mine will be delivered on the 14th and if you still go and try and pre order one now it still says '' in stock'' and '' order now for delivery on 14th''. So fingers crossed.

I'll tell you what she told me when I asked about this:

Yes they can, but they along with all other shops are expecting total bedlam and chaos at their stores on Friday so she suggested against it.
