I know its a pain but could you drive up to Belfast? Or do you know anyone up here who could go to the apple store for you?
Bloody foreigners! First they steal our jobs, now they want our iPhones!? Close the borders I say! ;) Only joking, I seem to recall people from the South traveling to Belfast for iPhones last year too.

Not really.

I pay full whack, and sell on for about 80% value.

Just sold my iphone 4 on ebay for £370 last week.

That will go towards my iPhone 4S which is £499 so it only 'costs' me £130.

indeed...that and the fact it will depreciate by another £100 if you keep it until next year means the upgrade really only costs you £30 :D

I love the uk iPhone threads. !! Been here since first iPhone. ! Will sell my 4 and get the 4s in white. !!

Hey Guys,
I'm with Orange. Can anyone remember if they offered early upgrade pricing to customers last year? I have the iPhone 4 on a 24 month contract which I signed up to on release day. Upgrade is officially in March 2012 but just wondering what they did last year.

----------

I have to say, my 3G varies on where I am. In Barry, it sucks. In work (Treforest) it's amazingly fast. My BT Open Zone didn't work but after resetting my password it works like a charm! Not hassle free though, but then BT never is!

Yeh, there were early upgrades offered last year but you have to speak to the right person and get lucky, Some are great, some are horrible. It's luck of the draw, but the ip4 wasn't new then, now there's a new model it may not be so forthcoming?

It depends on the network, Three have launched a new MiFi product which is capable of data speeds up to 21Mbps so the networks are definitely ahead of the curve on this one but best to check what each network supports.

Thanks for the reply.
I'd rather not switch to 3. It's between O2 and Vodafone for me if I'm being honest. So hopefully this HSDPA stuff. Orange would be in the running but they don't have great coverage in my area compared to the others!

My contract with O2 is up for renewal at the end of November - fully intend to sell/recycle my current iPhone 4 (should get about £300) at that time, get a new contract with a 4S and pocket the difference :)

Despite all the b*tching, the 4S is a solid update to an already good phone. I'll gladly upgrade to it now while my iPhone 4 has some resale value and see what the future holds with the 5 next year (?)

It's 12:01am Pacific Time according to this website but is that for the USA alone?

If that's the time internationally, then it's 8:01am for us.

I don't believe that they were. As I said, people were allowed to queue outside the store itself hours before.

I doubt that there will be massive queues this year.

So if it's 8.01am here, I might just make that. However I'll be suspicious and end up staying up all night anyway!! Lol

It doesn't work that way. The UK and US markets are totally separate with specific stock for those countries. The US pre-order start time has nothing to do with the UK. Most likely in the UK it will be the same, i.e. 12:00am Thursday night/Friday morning UK time.

Oppssss quoted wrong post! Was referring to the post from Mr C. Will go away now!

Hello Guys.

So, assume I get lucky and have a swift pre-order agreed online this Fri.

What % is it likely that my phone will be delivered on launch day?

I remember some time ago (iPhone 4) peolpe were getting them quicker by walking into a store.

Thanks for your help.

Is this HSDPA double download speed stuff they mentioned going to work on the UK networks? I read that it only works with GSM networks so it should, right?

Yes, they just use HSDPA, been a technology we have been using here in the UK for over 5+ years, most larger cities now have HSDPA+.

I think when i did my iphone4 online it started about 8/9 am in the morning same time a america .

Hope same again don't fancy staying up till midnight

Really hope 3 keep their iPhone 4 prices with the 4S, that's the only way I'll get a contract otherwise it's sim free for me.

Yeah all the phone companies are advertising iPhone 4S now, just got to wait for Three to provide pre-order information.

Any thoughts on what's happening with the UK 3GS pricing? Is it likely to stick at £20/month (3) or £319 (non-contract)? Seems incredibly high considering it's now two generations old.

does anybody no if apple will let you change your shipping address for the iphone pre order, im at uni in sheffield, and i remember last year some people saying they weren't allowed to have the phone shipped to any address other then the billing address, otherwise im gonna have to go apple store in meadowhall at 3-4am to pick 1 up. :(

I'ld imagine it will be dropped in price and the 8GB iPhone 4 takes it's place.
