pre-order 7:01am on Friday, have it delivered to my desk at work on the 14th.

Pop my giffgaff sim in for £10 a month unlimited data and texts.

Bliss.

Feel sorry for you upgrade suckers. :D

I have the exact same plan :D upgrading from the iPhone 2G 8GB so this is a huge upgrade for me.

Same. I was hoping for a re-design like others but I just can't hold off any longer. Compatibility is a nightmare on the 2G now.

Buying sim-free and going on GiffGaff £10 like bryanjc.

Anyone thinking of ordering from US ? In germany is way more expensive at 837 $ for the minimum version. Pricier than UK.

Is that doable ? Buying online from US ? Would the warranty work ?

is there anyway to pay for this half with debit card and half with credit card?

i want to pay £200 with debit and the rest with credit, or do you think il have to phone up?

what do people think about the time you need to get to an O2 store to line up?

It's looking like there will be no pre ordering on O2.

If i got there at about 7 AM do you think I would get the phone? I live in Birmingham so I'll be going to one of the 2 stores in the city centre.

What were peoples experiences like with the iPhone 4? I'm guessing there will be bigger queues this year...

Does anyone know when UK networks typically start selling the iPhone on contract for business customers? I think last year they were really slow with the 4...Wondered how long I might have to wait to get a couple from O2.

I hope Vodafone offer a decent upgrade scheme for the 4S seeing as I can't really afford to buy a sim free one and get a pay monthly sim like a lot of you are doing.

It seemed all right when I upgraded to the 3GS when it came on Vodafone, so touch wood!

same as last time I think

one of the main reasons I went with Orange (though later regretted it completely)

My 18 Month contract runs out on 02 on my iPhone 4 mid November so I'm gonna hang fire and upgrade then - I'm not doing the queing thing and paying the difference as I'm personally not as excited about this upgrade - but I'll still do it - not just as quick.

just put the £200 from your debit card into your credit card now and then pay for the whole thing using your credit card. job done!

how long do you think we should queue on Friday morning to pick up the phone at wish??

Depends on how long you are prepared to queue i'd say as long as you want to wait. You sound as if we are all going to join you, there is no we it is all about you.

Is there any way to pre-order on contract? There's no way I have time to queue on the day! I have a 3G on O2 pay-and-go and I'm looking to go on contract now, probably orange, but I'm open to whoever does the best deal.....any pointers?

put it like this - my o2 store opened an hour late - I got my iPhone about 11.30 and I'd be queing since 8am.

I'm pretty sure I did my pre-order soon after midnight.

No, pre-orders definitely started at 9:00am UK time last year (i.e. 1:00am Cupertino / Pacific Coast time).

I actually waded through the UK iPhone 4 thread to check it.

This year, if they follow the same routine (synchronised release regardless of time zone) pre-orders should start at 8:00am.

Unless they've improved their servers it will probably be chaos though.

The networks don't tend to do pre-orders, however places like Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4 U might. So you can probably pre-order a phone on contract through one of them.

I'm hoping to pre order mine online on friday and have it delivered to my house. If that doesn't work then I'm camping out my local Apple store on the 14th.

I'm going for the 32GB White model. Will just cut up my O2 sim and use up my texts/web then I'll be going to GiffGaff. Sold my *cough*Blackberry Bold 9780*cough* to O2 Recycle for £106. I couldn't be bothered selling on eBay, I just wanted rid of the damned thing. Can't wait to come back to the iPhone side of life! Got a spare GiffGaff sim, and have ordered some screen protectors aswell! I'm all good to go!

Just nervous. Not sure how busy it's going to be on Friday morning, hopefully Apples site doesn't crash and there's no problems getting hold of a handset and everyone who tries to get one gets one!

Until the 14th (I hope) I'm using my old trusty Nokia 3310! Ahh, snake :)

Sold my iPhone 32gb for £282 @ o2 recycle. Could have got more at ebay, but too much hassle.

Exactly how I felt! I just posted my Blackberry >.< to them today so should hear from them tomorrow/friday :)

Yep.. same here.

Dealing with people messaging you, non paying bidders, "Can you post to italy" questions, 10% final value fee, insertion fees, having to wait for days..No thanks !

I will be preordering the 4S 16gb on Friday as soon as its available sim free from Apple. I have had enough of paying £50 a month for an o2 contract. £10 a month Giffgaff deal is where i'm heading now.

And unlike most people on this forum, quite looking forward to the 4S. Yes yes moan how it's not worth it etc etc, that's your loss if you don't like it. I do like it, I get the fun of looking forward to it, I can't wait :D

Very true!

I really didn't expect an iPhone 5. I love the iPhone 4 design, and giving it new insides is completely fine with me! I miss my iPhone 4, I can't believe I sold it for a Blackberry. Sold that POS and used what I get from O2 Recycle towards my iPhone 4S!

I'm all sorted. I just need the phone itself now. I'm just worried that I might not get a pre order. I really can't be bothered waiting outside the store for hours!

Hello Guys.

So, assume I get lucky and have a swift pre-order agreed online this Fri.

What % is it likely that my phone will be delivered on launch day?

I remember some time ago (iPhone 4) peolpe were getting them quicker by walking into a store.

Thanks for your help.

what the chances of success guys - i mean pre ordering and having it delivered on the 14th
