I just called Carphone Warehouse as I had not received a confirmation email, and was told I will get one tomorrow once the item is despatched.

I think it will be the same for most waiting for delivery from Networks. They would receive stock in to their warehouses today/tomorrow and then it will be sent out to us, so hopefully we should all be fine for a friday delivery.

I wouldn't worry if I ordered from Apple as I'm sure they will arrive on 14th. :D

My sympathy is with all those who are ordering stuff from china, unless a chinese product is branded and is in your market and you check it yourself in your hand, do not order one. You never know what will you get when you try your hands on it. So be very careful about this.

This is my friendly suggestion. I ve been victim of chinese brands several times so be careful about it.

Who said anything about ordering from China?

I can't see why everyone is bickering about where the phones are coming from.

From a logistical point of view, it makes zero sense for any company to ship something big like this for a launch from one location, using only one carrier.

Ship some from China direct to customer, ship some from a regional distribution centre. Then if there's an issue with one delivery channel then at least some phones make it, as opposed to no phones being delivered.

I wouldn't say that people are bickering.

The reason why it is relevant is that if they are coming from China and they haven't left yet, they won't be here for Friday.

Luckily, it looks like they are shipping from the UK, so there is no problem.

Couldn't think of a better word... :p

How could they add a gift message if its straight from china?

This.

If it was on its way directly from China, It would have shipped by now.

The option to add a gift message probably means a particular device has been assigned to our orders. The people who ordered late probably dont have that option yet.

So the device and the delivery note/gift message are ready to be printed off and packaged together.

It's probably easier if you just read the thread before commenting.

I know it's Friday, but some people on here are concerned. But you'd know that if you'd read the thread.

Over 2000 posts? Its alot easier to comment before reading the whole thread.

Yep, I'd agree with this.

The fact that the likes of Carphone Warehouse are also claiming to have stock certainly suggests that the phones are all in the UK, just waiting to be labelled and given to the courier.

On previous experience, that should happen sometime tonight.

How do you figure that ? Apple never promised to deliver the phones by the 14th.

If people in Germany are receiving them already and people in the US get theirs on Friday and the UK don't, I can't see it sitting well with a lot of people.

Yep, but you have to accept that you are likely to misunderstand what is being said if you come into a conversation half way through.

In this case, a skim of the last couple of pages would have done.

If carphonewarehouse and Vodafone and 3 and all the other networks are saying "YEAH we have loads of stock, you'll all get them Friday" (apart from some folk who ordered REALLY REALLY late) then I dont see any reason why Apple wont send out the phones that were ordered directly to customers FOR Friday?!?

I just hope the UPS or whatever Courier man rings my buzzer and doesnt look at my door and think "Oh, its a door, I'll just post an attempted delivery" like my useless posty man does !!

Reading this thread is getting a task now, guys, the iPhones shipped from china with no individual shipping label on them, they will be at cork in ireland as thats apples HQ for this area, thats where individual shipping labels will be applied and then from there they will be sent to different courier distribution bases in the country.

Srsly, I've been on this thread for long enough to get bored of the same questions. The thread is going round in circles.

When is my phone coming
Has your delivery status changed
Have you checked store.apple.com/cn
My status is the same, when will i get my phone
I've not had my confirmation email
I've been billed twice
I cancelled an order will it cancel both

I think its safe to say that 80% of the people posting on this thread haven't read the whole thread.

Absolutely, but you didn't seem to understand that people discussing whether they were being shipped from China was nothing to do with the reason why.

Anyway, I think we'd better just move on now. We can't stop people asking the same questions, but I'm quite happy to keep on answering them for now. You don't have to read it if you don't want to.

One doesn't have to read the whole thread before commenting... Just the last three pages will do. It's the same question and answer session repeated about thirty times :)

And if you think this is bad - check out the thread for the US-base folks. That's practically a real time hubbub of updates.

Exactly this ^^^

I can't remember which phone it was but it was the same situation at launch, no UK orders had shipped right up until the day before launch and they were all sat in a Cork warehouse and therefore next-day delivery is easy.

I don't believe they're in China at this point, they're in the EU somewhere

The deliveries will be on time, keep the faith folks.

I know everyone's excited and all that but I think there's alot of people who really need to chill a little. Deliveries are out of our hands. They will arrive when they arrive. Until then, and quite frankly, I don't care whether its coming from China, Eire, Tamworth or even Mozambique. Tracking numbers will be issued closer to delivery dates and that's when all the excitement will really kick off.

But for now, just chill people. Everything will be OK.

It was the iPhone 4. I posted links to the conversations a few pages ago.

To reassure people again, if the same timescales are followed we will see no movement until tonight, when some changes will be seen if you log in through the US site. In the early hours of tomorrow, they will be marked as dispatched, and some phones may even be delivered tomorrow with the rest on Friday.
