So who's getting up early on Friday morning? I'll be going to the Apple Store in Glasgow, what time is best to get there to guarantee an iPhone? :D

Might depend which store you are going to.

I went to the 4S launch in Braehead last year. Arrived just before 6am and was about 30th in the queue. At least it's indoors if you want to stand and queue, as they let folk into the mall to wait right outside the Apple store.

Apparently it's called a PAC Code, fail!

Cool… some of my family are on Vodafone, signal is OK.

But O2s offers don't seem anywhere near as good as 3s.

Thanks for the head's up.

 You're right, I just tried. They shouldn't be allowed to do that, IMO. If you're wanting to leave today, you should be able to… anyways, I'll probably go into an O2 store this week and cancel from there. Tinkers.

I am thinking to go on 3 now, their offers seem too good to be true.

I've had great luck with O2 sticking to the cost of my bill though.

Is it still common for other contracts to be charged much more than you should have been charged? That's what I seemed to have before I moved to O2. Orange even lied to me twice saying they'd never received my call when I'd cancelled with them for two consecutive months. T Mobile were similar.

You can't cancel or get a PAC code instore with O2. They will just give you their phone if they have any available and dial customer services or tell you to dial from your phone.

You just have to sit in the queue and wait and I'd rather do that at home than in a shop.

That's good news although I'm very likely to change to Everything Everywhere through T-Mobile as I'm not keen on staying with O2 moving forward. EE/T-Mobile offer a better plan with more included for less plus there is the option of 4G to look forward too. The only thing I will miss from O2 is visual voicemail but I think I can live without that.

T-Mobile UK mentioned via their twitter account that Visual Voicemail is coming to their network in the new year, I assume/hope this also applies to Orange/EE.

Still waiting for EE to announce their dates and tariffs...

I'm waiting to sign up straight with them (rather than go with Orange/T-Mobile first and then change to a new 4G EE contract) as their current testing coverage of London and Bristol is good enough for me!

Ah, that may be a better option. But I'm back at Strathclyde the same day, so will have to stick to the city centre which will no doubt be much busier!

That was exactly what I was relying on last year, and it seemed to pay off. I don't think as many folk seem to think about going to Braehead, they just automatically think of the Buchanan Street store. Ideal for just parking right outside too at silly o'clock in the morning!

Well If I switch it will probably be to T-Mobile initially anyway with the likelihood of moving to EE's 4G service when it's available assuming its a reasonable cost.

Where did you get information on their testing coverage ?

Yeah, I had actually completely forgot about the Braehead store! I'll have a think about it. Should just have ordered it online!

I work for Parcelforce (Charlton depot) the phones are security packaged and will get delivered first thing in the morning from 7:30-9am (that's if you've paid for before 9am delivery) because it's a security package, if no one is in, we'll post a "739 card" in your letter box to let you know that we've tried to deliver the parcel and will try again the following day. If its 9am delivery, with Parcelforce, then I'd advise you to be up by 7am because we have other drivers that start at 7am. Hope this helps!

So there was a choice of delivery times when I put the order through with Apple? I'm confused by this :(

There wasn't because the delivery option hadn't been determined at that time by Apple. It's only when your phone actually ships will you know which delivery company is being used for it. You can't choose in advance and in fact have no choice.
