No, i was with giffgaff but since they aren't having nano sims in time for launch i ordered a nano sim from three with the £18.90 1 month rolling contract and i'm now trying to set it all up in my 4S with the adapter but have no idea how, lol.

Have you cancelled everything with giffgaff?

3 should have activated it in store for you, I had to wait about 7 hours for my nano sim to become active. Put your old sim in and wait for it to lose signal completely, try turning it on and off every hour or so too.

It was sent in the post as i ordered the sim and contract online. My old sim is giffgaff, not a 3 sim so i'm guessing the process is different?

No, not yet, as i wanted to port my number over to the three sim once it was activated. I've got my PAC code off giffgaff.

Well normally if you get sent a sim in the post then you have to activate it yourself don't you? I'm not too sure to be honest, try ringing 3 maybe...

Anyone ordered a new contract from 3 online and had any kind of confirmation or even an acknowledgment of their order?

Not sure as never been with 3. Yeah, i'll ring them up in a minute and ask.

Cheers. :)

Just do it all when your iPhone 5 has arrived? That's what I'm doing

UK iPhone 5 tariff matrix comparison at the following link:

www.tiny.cc/UKiPhone5tariffs

  • Includes all UK operators (T-Mobile), Orange, Three, Vodafone, O2 and GiffGaff (based on buying iPhone outright and using the £15 goodybag)
  • Tariffs are broken down by handset type (64GB/32GB/16GB), and are displayed on separate sheets

I've got a nano sim off Three and an adapter and i'm trying to set it all up in my 4S but have no idea how, i've put the sim in the phone and i've got signal bars but no 3G sign at the top and can't make calls or texts obviously.

Do i have to activate the sim, if so, how do i do it?

Also, does the sim have to be activated before a My3 account can be created?

When I joined Three all I had to do was put the sim into the phone and the services activated automatically. No harm in phoning to check. You can sign up to MyThree as soon as the sim is active in your phone.

Try that, although some come activated but the process can take a while.

[edit] Ignore me, that's when switching to a micro sim, it SHOULD come activated but when I put mine in my phone for 4s it took about 5 hours before I could make calls, despite having full signal..

Essentially what EE’s saying is that you should sign up with Orange or T-Mobile right now. You’ll then be able to break your Orange/T-Mobile 3G-only contract early and swap to a new 4G contract, essentially upgrading to a new EE plan. If your price per month on the new EE 4G plans is the same or more than your old 3G-only plan, then the early upgrade will cost you nothing (but you'll obviously be paying the cost of the new EE plan instead). If not, well, there’ll be some sort of upgrade fee. You’ll also have to sign for two years again.

You will also have option for 18 months with EE subject to a one off payment of £149

I wanted everything setup before the 5 arrives, plus i need to port my number over and stuff and it's just easier to get it out of the way. Plus three will probably have loads of port over requests once the 5 is actually released, so best to get it out the way.

Kk, cheers, gonna phone them now just to make sure.

How are you porting your number over before you've got the phone?

Has anyone else pre-ordered through CPW over the phone and received any form of communication from them afterwards?

I ordered over the phone today and haven't received any confirmation e-mail or texts which isn't very reassuring.

I don't know if this has been posted already but Quidco are offering £97 cash back for pre-ordering iPhone 5 on 3 network, think it's only today and tomorrow. Just ordered mine!

Awesome deal, very tempting.

Does anyone know when in 2013 Three are launching 4G services?

All I had was a text to say they couldn't get hold of me, although, they did and I was told it would definitely be with me Friday. Nothing else from them.

Supposedly they should text you a tracking number once dispatched, Fingers crossed.......

Ordered an iPhone 5/32GB/White off Apple at 8:00:46 AM

Got it off the Apple Store app - no issues.

Would like to thank the person who posted the check your iPhone serial number link - didn't even know the support profile was user accessible!

To check your iPhone week of production, grab its serial number and put it in this decoder - http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

I am week 32.

I'm planning on running mine on giffgaff, £15pm.

Have got nano sim cutter and a bunch of prototype nano sims i've made, if they're successful in working i'll be selling them on ebay, or you can PM me if you want me to shave your current micro sim down to a nano sim. :apple:

Mine is

Production year: 2012
Production week: 33 (August)
Factory: C3 (China)

I initially decided to stay with my Three PAYG so I phoned up Three and asked them to send me a nano sim and transfer my details to it. Three however have the single worst customer service reps in the entire universe. Two different reps assured me I was getting a nano sim. What arrived yesterday? Yes. A micro sim.

I've decided to switch to a rolling monthly contract anyway and ordered it from the web site. The confirmation email says it's a nano sim but we'll see. I've been reading horror stories about people trying to get their new sims activated so anything is possible. Three have a great data network but god help you if you actually need to talk to them.

64gig black iPhone 5 for me. Preparing for shipping.

Ah missed the £45 cash back for t-mobile :( but it wasn't available yesterday so no bother

From my giffgaff sim to the three sim in my 4S

Oh I see, because you're on Sim Only, guess I have to wait for my phone, they won't send my sim out early would they?

Unfortunately for me I have to stick with o2 for the time being as I only signed a 24 month contract in June, I'm going to nip out tomorrow afternoon and pick up a nano sim!
