Orange & tmobile have said that Visual Voicemail will be later this year, nothing more specific.

A guy at orange told me yesterday that the day before delivery ill get a text telling me the 2 hour window for delivery. Not sure how factual that is!!

Just got mine on a 12 month lease with o2 on business. Free phone and 45 quid a month.. Very pleased tbh because it works out the same as if you got a 12 month contract and sold the phone at the end, with this way basically saving you the bother of selling the phone yourself as you give it back. Only thing I'm nervous about is damaging the phone, but I managed to keep my 4S in very good condition so I'm not too bothered. Was told that the phone would be dispatched on release day as their pre-order stock had run out.

Delivery is for 21st.

Yup, logged in and all other products are there.

Never mind, won't panic yet... ;)

Have you got (or had) two "Apple ID's"?

I could originally, only see a Mac mini that I ordered under my "xxxxxx@me.com", Apple ID, so I knew something wasn't right!

My login was defaulting to my "xxxxxx@me.com", Apple ID. When I changed it to the Apple ID ("xxxxxx@gmail.com") that I ordered the iPhone 5, under, it (and all the other stuff that I've ordered over the years), magically popped up!

Anyway, here's mine...

Production year: 2012
Production week: 35 (September)
Factory: C3 (China)

Ordered at 8:23am on Friday and i'm production week 35.

Went down to my local three store today to get a sim adapter to use in my 4S and i asked if they had any and he said yes but they cant give them out until Friday, i said yes you can because i phoned the store yesterday and someone told me to come down and get one today. He gave me one in the end.

Just a heads up if anyone else is getting one and they say the same to you.

Probably, but gawd only knows what they are.

I ordered using my normal Apple ID & it is in the Order Status for that account. Checking the Support page for that account all my previous purchases (iPad 3 etc) are there.

No worries - I'm sure it'll all be fine :)

Thanks anyway.

This happened to me too, ended up going to three 3 stores ironically enough, last one gave me a sim there and then, no hassle!

Anyone know whether the 3 nano sim ordered online comes with the mini/micro sim adaptor?

I'd like to do a signal comparison between O2 and 3 before committing.

School boy error on my behalf, wasn't paying much attention when I originally setup my simplicity plan and it turns out I'm stuck in a 12 month contract that runs out in January :( may well keep O2 going in my 4 as my work phone and the 3 sim in my 5 as a personal phone. Work phone is only really needed for on call purposes so won't need to have it on me all day.

If 3 offers a better signal/faster data connection I'll be doing this, then cancel with O2 in December, if not i'll have to cancel my 3 plan :(

Haha, yeah, everyone who works in my local three store are always moody so i wasn't surprised he tried to lie to me. At least we both got one in the end lol.

Nope, it don't come with a adaptor, mine didn't anyway and i ordered mine online. But three stores are offerring adaptors for free, i went down to a store and got one today, if they try to tell you they cant give them out till friday then they are lying.

Plus from what i've read on this thread, 3 generally are faster than O2. I've never been with 3 for a phone so i wouldn't know but thats what people are saying.

I have every confidence in apple getting the phone to me on friday.

I ordered at 8:07am.

I've ordered the ipad2 and iphone 4s previously this way and they both got to me on release day.

your not likely to get it early dont be thinking that..but im pretty sure if you ordered early you will get it that day.

I think I remember staying up keep checking the orders status, it didnt change till late the night before release day.

iPad 2 were never available to pre order from Apple.

O2 have stated they will deliver all iPhone 5 pre-orders on 21st. That's a pretty big comment to make, considering the amount of orders they've had. They'd be letting down a lot of customers if they don't.

Q: When will my iPhone 5 pre-order be delivered?
A: If we get your pre-order before 4pm the day before launch, we’ll get it to you on launch day. The only exception to this will be those customers with an address in the Highlands and Islands.

The EE customer brand will launch with 4G services for consumers and businesses in the coming weeks...

Four cities – London, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham – are switched on today for the company’s engineers to begin live testing and systems integration, in readiness for the customer launch.

EE’s 4G network will cover a third of the UK population in 2012 – over 20 million people – and customers on the EE brand will also have access to the largest 3G network in the UK outside of the 4G cities. Further towns, cities and rural areas, will follow rapidly with 2013 population coverage to reach 70%, with 98% covered by 2014.

EE’s 2012 launch schedule will see 16 areas of the country connected to 4G by Christmas – the UK’s four capitals and twelve further major cities. The 16 cities are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Glasgow,
Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.

The UK’s first mobile 4G network will be offered by EE, a new brand from the company behind Orange.

As an Orange customer, you’ll be able to move to EE for superfast mobile internet the moment it lands - here’s how:

  • get the 4G ready iPhone 5 from Orange
  • we’ll be in touch when EE launches
  • check where you can use 4G at ee.co.uk
  • sign up to the new EE plan of your choice
  • we’ll send you a new SIM and you’re good to go

4G: Subject to coverage. UK only. Pay monthly only. When 4G launches a compatible plan on EE is required. Charges may apply and you'll have to agree to a new minimum term on EE. Other terms apply. Superfast 4GEE: just how fast your 4G will be depends on a couple of things: where you are and how many other people are using 4G too. Have a quick look at ee.co.uk for more info.

Essentially what EE’s saying is that you should sign up with Orange or T-Mobile right now. You’ll then be able to break your Orange/T-Mobile 3G-only contract early and swap to a new 4G contract, essentially upgrading to a new EE plan. If your price per month on the new EE 4G plans is the same or more than your old 3G-only plan, then the early upgrade will cost you nothing (but you'll obviously be paying the cost of the new EE plan instead). If not, well, there’ll be some sort of upgrade fee. You’ll also have to sign for two years again. Rumour is the new EE 4G plans won't include any SIM only ones, and they'll all be +£10 compared with the equivalent Orange/T-Mobile contract.

I'm perfectly happy to put up with EE's patchy 4G coverage to start with (I work in London so that's me covered) and it'll just roll back to HSPA everywhere else. I'm just hoping that EE open up to customers sooner rather than later!

I've got a nano sim off Three and an adapter and i'm trying to set it all up in my 4S but have no idea how, i've put the sim in the phone and i've got signal bars but no 3G sign at the top and can't make calls or texts obviously.

Do i have to activate the sim, if so, how do i do it?

Also, does the sim have to be activated before a My3 account can be created?

Are you on Three anyway as a pay monthly customer? You have to wait before your current sim shows no service as this tells you that everything's ported over to nano sim.

When did 3 say the SIM would become active?

Ordered mine through CPW on Friday, did the £29 deposit and they called me and I changed network from o2 (been with them for 10 plus years), to T-Mobile. Needed the unlimited Data.

Major concern is i ordered my 4s and my 3G from CPW and both times things have gone wrong. Last year Yodel managed to send my 4s to Surrey instead of Suffolk, so I didn't get it until the Monday. If it happens this time I may explode.

They still use Yodel apparently.........

No, i was with giffgaff but since they aren't having nano sims in time for launch i ordered a nano sim from three with the £18.90 1 month rolling contract and i'm now trying to set it all up in my 4S with the adapter but have no idea how, lol.

3 should have activated it in store for you, I had to wait about 7 hours for my nano sim to become active. Put your old sim in and wait for it to lose signal completely, try turning it on and off every hour or so too.
