Ordered my iPhone 5 at 10:30am friday via oranges website.

I got a confirmation email the same day with an order number which ive tracked and oranges website says, order being readied for dispatch.

Can anyone clarify what this means? Will i get my phone friday?

Also means youre lucky..you seem to be one of the few that has received any contact from orange!

Have they taken the money for the phone or sent you any sort of email/text confirmation yet?

I've pre-ordered through CPW over the phone. I have been told over the phone that my order has been processed fine, the contract has been set up and i have passed the credit check, but i am yet to get any confirmation in writing.

I also got a text saying that they had tried to contact me to finalise my pre-order and sort the contract out after it had already been done.

I'm also getting my phone sent to the local shop instead of my home address. I hope they still deliver it to the shop on Friday and let me know what time I can pick it up.

I pre-orderd through CPW and my new contract is not yet on my o2 account.

I believe it takes effect from bill date as said in a previous post. I vaguely remember mine being similar a few years ago

I hate yodel ... This time last year I waited all day for my MacBook pro .... Never came, rang up and they said to come get it or else wait tomorrow .... Decided to go get it because it was my first MBP and I was excited ... Took about half hour to find it once I arrived ... Urgh

Right. Rang Orange as i was beginning to panic. And hey - they've messed up!
Whoever took my order entered iPhone 4 :eek::eek::eek:
which has despatched, so they have to recall from courier, and the sort out new order. Friday is looking unlikely now. They are ringing me back on Monday morning. What idiots!
They have credited my account with £30 as a gesture.

I called them at 8:01am on Friday for my long overdue upgrade, and they processed everything through for an iPhone 5, but dispatched a 4S!!!:mad:

I wasn't offered any gesture of good will, and I need to reject the phone tomorrow, then call back on Wednesday to upgrade again. At this point they should offer me something!! Not a happy bunny!!!

I'm not sure if anyone else picked up on this but O2 have updated the FAQ to say nano SIMs will be available tomorrow afternoon (17/09)

"Q: What if I get an iPhone 5 from somewhere else? How do I get a nano sim?
A: You’ll need to pick a nano sim up from one of our stores from Monday afternoon (17th September)"

Nice one. I was in last week and they said to try again the middle of this week. I'll maybe go in tomorrow though and see if I can get one now before the rush starts.

I'd speak to orange as they may be sending you a 4S like some people have had happen in this thread

I ordered before you and my order number doesn't work yet, orange told me it won't until they get the stock on Tuesday/Wednesday.

I went into both Cardiff O2 stores Saturday, they just gave me their phone numbers and told me to keep calling.

Edinburgh Queuing

Anyone from Edinburgh on here queuing? If so, what time you thinking of starting? I'm thinking about 3am?

I did email them as they sent me an email telling me to contact them about a credit check. They said that it has been processed and will be dispatched when the iPhone launches on the 21st.

Weird. I was told Friday and yesterday that they were unable to tell anyone when they're getting them until Tuesday/Wednesday and that until then they can only say it will be within 30 days of launch

They must put a tonne of extra staff/drivers on for the release day to handle a massive increase in parcels, presumably a significant amount of iPhones must be going through in a short space of time. Makes you wonder how they will deliver them all and guarantee the release day.

It's in their interest to ensure a smooth delivery, since it's a massive contract for them and they'd presumably be dropped for the next launch (iPad mini in October?) if they make a mess of it.

Order placed at 08:17 preparing for shipment now.

Just got off to vodafone contract ends in April 2013. Paying £42.00 p/m. To end my contract would cost £284.00. Is it worth moving to Orange or T-Mobile and eventually move to EE for the Lte?

Depends if you're loaded or not...

I wouldn't base your decision on LTE on EE as we don't know enough about it yet in terms of the pricing, plans and actual level of coverage. I'm on O2 but my contract ended a while back and I'm just paying month to month. For various reasons I'm seriously thinking about moving to another network and on the basis of current sim only plans T-Mobile makes the best sense for me. LTE would be a bonus although the rumours are it may not be available on SIM only plans. I'm not sure if I would have the option of taking out a long term contract to get it if I already have the phone but regardless for other reasons I think I need to move to a new network anyway.

I was the same, my O2 contract ended last year and was letting it just run, for £35 I was getting 600mins, unlimited texts and 500MB data. But, there is no 3G around my area...at all.... so I got sick of O2 and moved to a Sim Only 30 day rolling plan on T-Mobile. For 15 every 30 days I get 350mins, 500 or 5000 texts (can't remember) and 1.5GB data! Annnnd, theres pretty decent 3G coverage here.

Why I didn't do this years ago cause I always buy the iPhone from Apple I don't know!

I just got tired of O2 not actually upgrading their network in my area, T-Mobile seem to be going nuts trying to get mass coverage!

So in my opinion ;) I would move from O2.
