Going to go into the T-Mobile store on either Friday or Saturday morning, so fingers crossed, pick one up then!
Does anyone know whether a PAC code is SIM specific?
Here's my situation. I'm currently with O2 and have pre-ordered sim-free from Apple.
I will be starting a 12-month sim-only contract with Orange.
Orange have told me that I won't get a nano sim until at least friday, maybe after, so I haven't signed up to the deal yet.
However, I've requested my PAC code from O2 since it's valid for 30 days - the thinking is that I can get a nano sim from O2 to tide me over for a couple of days after launch until Orange nano-sims are widely available [and available to select through the website = Quidco].
So, my question; if I get a nano sim from O2 this afternoon/week, will I need a different PAC code to transfer to Orange?
Yeah, I'm really tempted by Three (thank you) but unfortunately the signal for them really sucks hereThat is pretty good for a steady user! Or if a bit heavier data wise you could just pay £2.40 more a month for unlimited data from 3.....200 mins and 5000 texts
...
Just got a call from my Stamford O2 shop-they have the nano-sims in stock BUT can't give them out until Friday because they can't process them!!! Pointed out that they CAN'T be processed until Friday anyway 'cos nobody will have an iPhone 5 until then!
I wonder whether there is anyone at O2 with the intelligence to manage what should be so simple? Grrrr
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I'm sure that the PAC code will not change if you get the nano sim from O2. The PAC code will stay the same if your number is the same.
Someone mentioned screen protectors...
I've just ordered a bumper and screen protectors from Amazon...
(I know the image used for the screen protector is not the right phone, I've gone for it anyways)

Just as a temporary measure until I decide if I'm going naked for the first time ever!
I'm sure you'd need the PAC code if you were going from a pay monthly sim to a PAYG sim on the same carrier?
Though I may well be wrong.
PAC - Porting Authorisation Code. If you're not changing carrier, you're not porting your number.
Here are my 2 pennies worth...
(Ordered 64gb one sim free on apple app store at 8.02) Went to preparing for shipment later that day. Has been allocated a serial number week 34.
Now for the shipping process that differs from the US. Most of the UK's are already here and will be shipped from Hinckley in Leicestershire like most new iPhones and iPads on pre orders. Therefore they probably wont show as shipped before Wednesday if you have a 21st delivery. Spoke to a guy at Apple in Cork who indicated as much though couldn't confirm date of shipping etc. Just another clue is the amount of orders Carphone are taking. I used to work for them for years. I would guess that they bought a shed load of them from Apple and have them sitting in Wednesbury already for Friday. There is no way IMHO that they could be taking orders today if they still have to be shipped from China for 4 days time not to mention then be allocated with the correct nano sim. They are also fulfilling o2's pre orders this year.
I spent most of the weekend being told over the phone by Vodafone that they would be dispatching a nano sim to me today for delivery on Wednesday. After what happened with previous orders with them i ordered one through their sales team and stupidly asked for a DPD before 10.00 delivery (£11.99) which is coming tomorrow all being well. DPD are pretty good and actually text you on the day an hour slot on their standard all day delivery. Anyhow I will do the sim swap tomorrow as managed to buy a nano-micro sim adaptor and it does work with iPhone 4s etc. Don't want to be doing a sim swap on Friday as it's gonna be manic. Will probably be getting a few more blank sims tomorrow from the previous orders I placed for free with Vodafone using Royal Mail as have received 4 separate texts confirming Royal Mail dispatch today.
If you want to waste your money like me here is a link to a nano-micro sim adaptor that does surprisingly work with iPhone 4s as tested it this morning using a 3 nano sim that I got hold of.

Like I said in my ramblings this is just my thoughts...if it helps anyone else even better.
One of these days I may get a life but until that happens I will just keep going to my Apple Anonymous meetings while checking MR/AI/9TO5/MacWorld/Engadget/Verge/ you get the gist!

This is up to O2 - if their systems allow the same number to be used on a different type of plan then they can do it. I have done exactly the same with Orange and no PAC was required. But if he still has a O2 contract with the number he wants he cant use the same number on the PAYG O2 sim as well?
I'm heading off to both the O2 and possibly 3 stores shortly, to see if O2 have any clue about nano sims, if they're still clueless ill be off to get a micro sim adapter from 3.
After today i'll either be staying with O2 or jumping ship to 3![]()

Just spoke to Orange. Despite the fact that my contract end date changed, and completing my order online with no problems, it seems the order is not actually ok. They are still looking into it, but they cannot see it.If it is not there, they hav just lost a customer.

Is your adapter metal? The one I got from the 3 store is plastic.

What a nightmare - I was going to go along to Stamford this afternoon to try my luck. Peterborough were less than helpful yesterday saying there wouldn't be any until Friday, even after reading the page on news.o2.co.uk which said that they'd appear today.
I got my nano sim yesterday from 3, it activated about 5 hours after receiving.
