O2 Nano Sim in hand

:D Managed to get my hands on a Nano Sim from O2 store today.

Comes with an adaptor so I can swap ready for my iPhone 5 to arrive from :apple:

It was painless ... for a change!

For £530!? Surely it would be cheaper for people to buy out of their contracts? Especially as the wait time on Apple is 2-3 weeks

Nope. Most of the time its cheaper to buy the phone outright and get a sim only contract

Just phoned my local store and they are still saying friday!!!

I see Three are still showing as delivering on the 21st when pre ordering. Do you think they're being optimistic? Tempted to cancel my Apple order and go with them on contract as after the Quidco cashback and O2 Recycle money for my 4S it's working out at about £540 over two years for me

The deed is done!

Finally ditched O2. Couldn't put up with any more of their incompetence.
Now off to Three to get my new nano sim :D

Looks like they have a bunch of new customers joining!

Not if you pre-ordered early (again, like a large portion of us on here appeared to have done).

In terms of it being cheaper - if you can afford the £530+ from the onset - you can potentially save a few quid in the long run by going SIM only (and the added benefit of being able to upgrade every year).

Am doing the same and effectively worked out at £36 a month for my iPhone 4S last year for 12 months. 4S for £500 (sold for £300) and then £18 a month for 12 months.

They are telling fibs! O2 have advertised the fact that they are available in store from this afternoon. Go tell 'em that you know other people are getting them.

They did have to ask the manager as they didn't know what a Nano Sim was - but it's O2 so no surprises there. The manager was busily loading them on to the system.

£530 for the phone, then £10p/m on GiffGaff/Tesco SIM only deals.

Good luck finding a 24 month contract that works out cheaper than £770!

Why is everyone getting nano sims separately? Are you all buying the phone directly from Apple?

Im only buying the iphone 5 from apple becuase in the past i could not afford to buy one on launch day, now that i have saved the £600 im looking forward (i think) to go getting the phone on launch day.

I phoned O2 today and they said friday as well. Absolutely useless!

That's why as of tomorrow I will be a Three customer :D

Been talking to Three customer support on Twitter. They say that the nano sims they are posting out have an adapter included.

So can anyone who has got a Nano sim from 3 they ordered online confirm this? And did the sim work (some are saying it wasn't properly registered!)

It depends on your tariff and whether or not you want to keep it or move to a new one. I have an old school 'simplicity' tariff with a small discount, so am still getting unlimited data, 600 minutes and a ridiculous amount of SMS all for just under £15 per month on a 1 month rolling contract. Can't beat that really. Throw in the fact you can swap networks at will and buying the handset unlocked is a no brainer.

total cost zero, waiting for the sim to transfer from one to another at presnet, voda cs recons one hour.

Congratulations to all you guys who are moving to Three. They really have their act together, and the service they provide is brilliant. The speeds are just crazy.

when i ordered my nano sim today Three told me that in 24hrs my micro sim will be deactivated and when the new nano sim arrives its just a matter of putting it in the iphone.

I phoned my local O2 store up again and asked if they had them (they told me they had 6 on Saturday) and the reply was sort of. He hasn't had any instructions to hand them out yet. Told me to try again on Wednesday and anyway they would swap the sim over so I wouldn't be able to use my number.

I hope it's not a sarcasm!
How long are you Three customer? What can you say about their AYCE data services and coverage?

lets see how the speeds hold up after all us new iphone 5'ers join and swamp them :D

I picked up my nano sim in a three store last friday. They had to supply the adapter separately from the nano sim. It only took about an hour for them to activate the new sim and stop my micro sim from working. Roll on friday when i pick the new phone up

Haha nope, no sarcasm!

I moved from O2 to Three in June, and the difference in network performance is stunning. One bar of 3G on Three is noticeably faster than five bars of 3G on O2.

I'm on their SIM-only £15 a month plan with all-you-can-eat data, and I've even been tethering and haven't run up any extra bills.

That would never be the case. The porting system does not allow you to move a number between accounts on the same network.

Actually, I have needed a PAC to move on the same network.

Although that case was a little different to usual, I'm just saying it does happen.

So gutted the Three signal is poor here... I'm on 4 bars with O2 (or rather GiffGaff) and download at around 200kbp/s, my colleague and boss are on 3 and have 1 bar and the 3G signal is intermittent :(

Would LOVE to go with Three otherwise
