So gutted the Three signal is poor here... I'm on 4 bars with O2 (or rather GiffGaff) and download at around 200kbp/s, my colleague and boss are on 3 and have 1 bar and the 3G signal is intermittent :(

Would LOVE to go with Three otherwise

Three is good here, im getting just under 5 meg download and 500kps upload.

Haha nope, no sarcasm!

I moved from O2 to Three in June, and the difference in network performance is stunning. One bar of 3G on Three is noticeably faster than five bars of 3G on O2.

I'm on their SIM-only £15 a month plan with all-you-can-eat data, and I've even been tethering and haven't run up any extra bills.

I 100% agree with you about Three! I moved from Orange a year ago and the internet speeds are so much better.

One question: I'm on the £25 a month rolling 'One' plan, but the only real reason is the unlimited tethering. I've been told by Three that this is the only way to get tethering so I'm interested to know how you are getting it on the £15 option?

I get it on PAYG £15 pm.

I tether on my SIM 600 with AYCE Data, technically not allowed to but its enabled on the phone and I haven't been charged yet.

Ordered one on the Ultimate Internet 200 plan on Friday with an expected delivery date of today, nothing came this morning. Bit of a pain really as I need to change my number over before Friday.

You've got a full week to do so.

yup, signed for a new 30 day contract on 3 on Thursday night and had the sim in the post Sat morning.

have only just tried to activate and port my number across to it and they have said its not showing on their system

Exactly the same here... spoke with Customer Services saturday, told me I had to speak to Sale Escalations, they put me through to Online sales, who were going to put be through to iPhone support, wtf... after convincing them it was nowt to do with phone, they put me back to Customer Services who then told me they had sent an email to the activation team and it would be working later today.... I smell *********.

Trying to register online with phone no and last 6 digits of the sim tells me my number doesn't exist...:(

That's what I thought too, but tethering is enabled and I have been using it without charge (I even watched last week's iPhone keynote while tethered). I had 2 bars of 3G and the entire thing played without buffering. It's really impressive!

Vodafone Nano Sim

Got another text message from Vodafone this am, telling me that my new nano sim has been dispatched by Royal Mail.

----------

Been talking to Three customer support on Twitter. They say that the nano sims they are posting out have an adapter included.

So can anyone who has got a Nano sim from 3 they ordered online confirm this? And did the sim work (some are saying it wasn't properly registered!)

I did NOT get an adapter with my Nano SIM from 3.

No, i have emailed Expert Shield as their 4S ones were superb but not had anything back yet, i'm also looking for a Belkin TPU case seen as though the 4S one is best case i've used. :)

Amazon are showing a pack of 12 screen protective films from MOFRED for 0.01p which just sounds wrong.

I have ordered a temporary one from Terrapin on Amazon for £2.99, until such time as better ones come to market.

Just got a call from my Stamford O2 shop-they have the nano-sims in stock BUT can't give them out until Friday because they can't process them!!! Pointed out that they CAN'T be processed until Friday anyway 'cos nobody will have an iPhone 5 until then!

Quick update from Stamford. I telephoned and they said that they hadn't had their delivery yet, and that they couldn't give them out until Friday anyway. I said that the O2 website was saying available from this afternoon, which surprised them, but they said that once they'd had their delivery they'd give me a call.
Anyway, half an hour later they called back to say that I could pick one up whenever I liked.
Arrived at the shop and had to wait five minutes because they were still booking them in to inventory, but once that was done they handed one over.

@rogerram - was going to PM you, but since I only registered today I cant send a PM. Hope you spot this.
Cheers,
Andy

O2 Store - No nano sims available in Newcastle city centre (Eldon Sq and Northumberland St). The rep in Eldon Sq said they won't have any until Friday. When I mention the O2 FAQ saying they would be available today rep just pulled a 'meh' face and shrugged. Northumberland St guy said they'd have them in on Thursday, didn't even bother arguing with him.

3 Store - Eldon Sq had no sim adaptors left. Northumberland St had 'shed loads' and gave me one without any fuss. Mentioned to the guy that O2 must be losing customers, he said he had a fair idea, lots of customers had been in, bad mouthing O2 and had switched to 3.

Add me to that list!

This website seems to think that all the mobile providers apart from o2 still have stock of the iPhone..I really hope thats true and I'll get mine friday! Unless o2 are the only ones being honest, seeing as Orange are telling everyone 30 days they probably wouldn't have to say if they were out of stock or not.

On all other plans its £5 to add tethering (2GB allowance i THINK) to your contract for the month.

I just wandered into my local Three store and asked for a nano sim adaptor. They gave me one without any problems.

Now I just have to hope that when my contract sim arrives it actually works. :/

I Have a SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal on pre-order, says will ship on 24/09 or earlier, praying i don't have my iPhone fully naked for too long

YEY! :D O2 Nano SIM activated and using in my 4S with adapter until Friday.

It took a good 20 mins. Imagine what It will be like on launch day. Good luck all who are getting their phone and SIM on Friday!

Not sure if this is anything to go by - but on iPhone 4S launch day it took around 20 minutes for my micro SIM to activate from a standard SIM. Granted though that a lot of people already had a micro SIM from the iphone 4 but I think 20/30 minutes is pretty standard for o2's SIM switch online system.

How does it work then? Guessing all your contacts are swapped over from the micro sim? Do you need to speak to somebody to activate it? Guessing it's like when you swapped from normal sim to micro?
