Does anyone know if I pre-order with 3 today online (claiming the quidco available aswell as it's been extended to Sep 24th) will I receieve my iPhone on Friday?

Haha, I have over a tenner of credit left on O2. I have 14 days to spend it all (& I barely call, texts & internet included in my latest top-up). Hmm, text a few premium rate numbers perhaps?

Yup. Told the staff there I'd signed up for a contract on Friday (Which is true but they didn't check) and the girl went and got me one. (Both regular and Micro)

Nice one I just walked up to my local Three store and got one, I said I am on Three which I am, and that I have pre-order iPhone 5 which I have (just didn't mention that I pre-ordered with T-Mobile ahaha) and I got mine too.

To be fair I deserve this adapter for the amount of times I have had dropped calls, unable to send text messages and no 3G!

To those of you who picked up a nano sim from a Three store, are you all existing customers or intending to sign up with them?

I just wanted one for the adapter; went into my local store today and was told that they had them and that they're free for existing customers of £5.11 otherwise. I'm not a Three customer so opted to pay the £5.11, but then the guy refused to sell it to me because I didn't want to sign up for a contract there and then. Wasted trip.

i am an existing customer, so that's how I got mine, but how bizarre. Where abouts are you located, do you have any friends or family on 3 already? Or Just try a different store stating that they forgot to give it to you when you got a nano sim.

Try another 3 store and say you ordered your nano sim online and it will "arrive today" but you need an adapter. Many have commented that they give you an adapter for free. I'll be trying it out tomorrow! (although i have actually ordered a nano sim from them! :p)

I visited the Weymouth store, but live nearby where there's no 3 signal anywhere, so nobody uses them!

I was told that even if I signed up for a contract then, I'd still be charged the £5.11. Nonsense! I'm getting on to customer support.

If you order online you get a NanoSIM posted to you right? I don't see why they should charge new customers in store then...

Unless you guys want to move to PAYG on Three, and not a SIM-Only contract.

yup, signed for a new 30 day contract on 3 on Thursday night and had the sim in the post Sat morning.

have only just tried to activate and port my number across to it and they have said its not showing on their system

How are you all activating your nano sims?! What are you putting them in? Or does it come in a micro sim frame? Or you got an adapter??

Just got a nano-sim from the O2 shop at Cribbs Causeway. The two guys there said they had 200 but had no instructions or guidance on what to do with them. They weren't sure if there were allowed to give me one but decided they would give them out until told not to. I didn't have to give any proof that I was an O2 customer or had ordered an iphone5.

The "guru" advised me against trying to ring customer services on Friday as they'd be really busy, and said I should be able to manage the changeover myself online. He said they didn't have any nano/micro adapters so advised against swapping the number over until Friday. However I have since found that there are adapters in the pack they gave me.

They were as friendly and helpful as they could be, but clearly didn't have any guidance from O2 centrally.

Is this a serious question? Contacts on a sim?

Sorry meant in terms of having the same number so everything is switched off from the micro. Not sure why contacts even came into my head. Meant just switching over everything on your current number.

Going to apple glasgow store to try and buy it on friday. Any idea when the best time to queue would be to get it.

How many iphones are the stores likely to stock on friday?

Based on my experiences of major product launches at Apple Stores, literally the earliest you can get there. I got in the queue at around 10-11am for the iPhone 4 and had to wait 4-5 hours to get into the store.

Finally managed to obtain an o2 nano sim after many hours of conflicting information and excuses from local stores. I heard everything from "We won't have them until launch day" to "We only get deliveries on Wednesdays". I called my local store again at 3pm and asked the same mundane question, expecting the same result. To my shock they said "Yes, we do". After confirming they were nano sim and not micro, I headed down to the store. 10 minutes later I was transfered over to the new sim by an o2 member and walked out a satisfied customer. There is light at the end of the tunnel... Just don't give up.

The good news now, I'm officially ready for the iPhone 5. Bring it on!

I have just bought a pack of 10 screen protectors for 3.50 off amazon, I have used Terrapin before and can confirm they have excellent screen protectors that are pretty scratch resistant.

O2: People are placing them in the supplied Micro SIM or Standard SIM adaptor then using the O2 website to swap their SIM.

Other providers, when they have Nano SIMs, seem to do this in-store or over the phone.

Why are people so impatient? My order is due to arrive on the 1st of october, I can wait as its only a few days. Don't understand the rush. Some people acting like its a matter of life and death to have the phone on release day. Find that sad.

Apple is laughing all the way to the bank. While some act childish make themselves broke to have latest on launch day.

I enjoy watching you get nervous over a phone, its funny and sad. I will post my 5 on here just to let you see i do have one but its not a rush. Over TWO million sold, the phone will be common it wont be exclusive to you just because you demand it for the 21st.

Anyway enjoy and this is NOT directed at the patient crowed. Peace

Still waiting for my O2 one to activate, spoke to a Guru and they said it'll be in the next 4 hours, great.
