Brilliant thanks for that :) Must have missed it on the 150 pages! So glad to see theres so many other people as excited!

Doesnt really surprise me in some ways as a lot of things get delayed, but Apple are usually really good and show the same delivery time here as elsewhere.

Think my sim will be here today, so at least that'll all be ready!

My 3 nano-sims arrived today. Phoned the nice happy chappies at 3 to swap my old O2 number onto the new nano-sim.

The guy was brand new. So my experiences with 3 have been nothing but awesome.

Welcome to Three.

One thing you will notice, you will never have a GPRS signal as they simply dont do one. So its 3G or nothing but its nearly always 3G. They also support wideband audio for the iP5.

Phoned T-Mobile there just to double check i'll be getting the nano sim with the phone and the girl said it is 100% included with the phone. I was expecting that but just wanted to be sure, couldnt imagine them sending a phone with no way to use it. I asked if she could check the progress of my order, she checked and the status is 'waiting to go'. She then said that i will receive a text giving me a 2 hour time slot for delivery and it will mention in the text how to change this delivery time if it doesnt suit. Didn't mention when the text would be but after checking the ukmail site it says they text the evening before delivery.

I did the exact same thing as you and realized I should have gone for the one plan. 3 told me there's no way of changing it and you can't upgrade to that tariff either; you need to cancel the order and place a new one. I called up to cancel and then tried to place a new one online but had no luck- 10 minute phone call and a new order was placed and confirmed for 9/21!

Slightly delayed reply but I've just got an email off of 3, saying that if I want to change my plan it should be possible to do once I've received the phone.

"Please give us a call as soon as you receive your phone within the 14 days cooling off period. After we receive your call, we can connect you to the relevant team and they’ll help you change your price plan."

At least you got yours sorted for delivery on 21st anyway! Maybe there was a bit of mis understanding - Either that or I'm going to be sorely disappointed come Friday...

Ah, well I hope you get it as close to launch date as possible!

Agreed, just had something off Amazon delivered with DPD this morning, right at the beginning of the 1 hour slot. Been using them for years and they have never missed - would be nice if Apple switched to them.

Yep! Given how many of us still have O2 on 30days rolling contracts from our original iPhones, they're really missing a trick and moreless forcing us to leave!

How are they missing a trick and forcing you to leave?! They have sim's, they're sending them out by post or you can go pick one up and keep your existing tariff etc. Am keeping my rolling 30 day deal with unlimited data from the 3g days and the sim will be with my by post tomorrow morning. This process never made me feel like they're 'forcing me to leave'?!

I was tempted to try 3 this time but their signal is terrible where I live (near Kingston, SW London. Hardly Timbuktu but I can't get a signal at all indoors on 3...

The map posted earlier in this thread shows that Aberdeen will take longer to deliver to, maybe the person that didn't receive the e-mail does not live in Aberdeen.

Newbie hear - been lurking around this thread for days but singed up when i started to panic when people in Aberdeen started being told they wern't getting their phones on Friday - there was a postcode checker beside the delivery map - can the people who are not getting theirs confrim if they live in the postcodes listed?

I've not heard anything from apple but am AB10.

Order perparing for shipment with iPhones allocated.

Nonsense. Three still use Orange for GPRS, except in areas where their own 3G service is able to cope with the demand and there is no need for GPRS.

iPhone Allocation

Has anyone else who ordered early still not been allocated an iPhone?

I got my order in at 8:22am, its been 'Preparing for Shipment' since Sat. and Apple have taken the money out of my account. I only have one Apple ID and this is the first time I've ordered directly from them.

I ordered my phone direct from apple here in the UK at 08:37, as early as I could make it through the system and I have just received an email from apple saying that my order will take an extra 1-2 days to reach me One of my colleagues also just got the same email, although another didnt!

Oddly, the order page on the apple website doesnt seem to have updated to reflect this and it still estimates delivery on the 21st so not sure how long it'll take now as its a public holiday on monday so will wait and see if theres any movement on the order soon.

Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Why will it take 1-2 days longer to reach you? what is their explanation?

Just ordered a nano sim off Orange. The guy was not happy i preordered from Apple. Asked the size and colour i ordered then reluctantly sent me a nano sim and stated i should order off Orange in the future for a more 'streamlined experience'.

Wouldn't let me get a word in then said bye and put the phone down.

I love their CS!

Can you ring him back and say I would like the streamlined experience explained to me?

Finally ordered a nano sim with Orange! Just got the queue to look forward to on Friday as have decided to buy instead of upgrade. Stupid orange sending out an iPhone 4s!!!

Everyone in the UK are 'preparing for shipment', I wouldn't expect this to change until tomorrow at the EARLIEST.
