Maybe i'm a little old fashioned for this online 'pre-order' world. I'm one of those old school queue up on the day sort of people. I did it with the iPhone 4 and weirdly quite enjoyed it; being in a queue with fellow nutters waiting for some geeky gadget.

Question is are there any other people doing the same thing? I've pre-ordered at the Orange store for £25 and will be queuing up on Friday morning. However I've not heard of others doing the same or talking about the in-store stock allocation or even whether it exists.

One other question, if I get it at the Orange store, a big if, then do I need to get a nano sim before or will the chances be they have them if they are handing phones out too?

I quite like the idea of queuing up tbh. Just for the banter. Dont think the wife would be too chuffed mind lol.

Three have sent me a nano SIM - replacing my phone number on my current micro sim - telling me originally to order on Friday.

I told the woman - very poor English and reading from a script - that it wouldn't make any difference, I'd still be waiting?

So I have a nano sim - NO adapter - and my micro sim stopped working this morning.

Any ideas? I feel like writing a complaint

There hasnt been any explanation so far. There is 3 of us in the office here, none of them have been assigned, all sat as "Processing" and all received the same email.
All of us ordered between 8 and 9 on the morning so I dont think it can be a cse of being too late with that.

Hmmm, sounds strange, have you guys tried your Apple support page to see if serial number has been put up, if not try here https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...5jXNtdX_KfgmL1_SA&sig2=plOD06cfhOo9_sj5d4o57Q

Oh well, nevermind. Tried contacting O2 about a nanoSIM again and was once again met by a very rude CS agent telling me to go to a store.

Looks like I'm cutting down my existing SIM.

Has anyone else who ordered early still not been allocated an iPhone?

I got my order in at 8:22am, its been 'Preparing for Shipment' since Sat. and Apple have taken the money out of my account. I only have one Apple ID and this is the first time I've ordered directly from them.

Odds are you've been allocated an iPhone 5 already. To find out go to this link and enter your Apple ID / Password: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do

The iPhone should be listed in the "My Products" list off to the right...

Go get an adapter from a 3 store and stick yer "activated nano-sim" into yer existing phone?

Orange took my money yesterday. I'm upgrading out of contract with Orange. Had the email from orange last week that came with an order number but cannot trace the order on any delivery website.

Ordered 14th September 08:45 am GMT (uk time) - money came out instantly . White 64GB (GSM) from the Apple Store Online.

I used a debit card, the money was whipped out of my account faster than the speed of light. I got my confirmation email, and it says delivery 21/9

I bet we won't get a shipping notification until tomorrow, maybe Thursday

I think for those who are on Preparing for Shipment the iPhone has been already allocated - mine has. Hopefully we'll get it on Friday, mine is being delivered in my office :D

Three nano sim

Just got three nano sim by post and called to activate but was told to request replacement activation online by filling form. Has anyone done this on the phone with three?

Made a mighty muck up?

Ordered iPhone 5 and spare cable with confirmed e-mail showing delivery of 2-3 weeks. Only recently discovered the slow delivery time is due to the addition of a spare cable so now cancelled that.

Phone status now changed to "delivers 09/21" but no trace of it being allocated in Apple Support Profile and looks as if it is stuck in "Processing Order".

Should I now be worried that it won't arrive on Friday?

UPDATE O2 NANO SIM

Just went to the O2 store on Upper Street in Islington, waited in line for 10 minuets just to be told they had no nano sims and I would need to queue on Friday to guarantee getting one!

Walked two stores down and got these:

Three have said they are working to get it across carriers. Seems this is a technical limitation for many.

Chances are you may never experience a wideband call as it needs to be from a compatible handset to another compatible one and on the same network. Could be 1-2 years before we see it across network as I can see them all trying to use this fact as a reason to convince your friends to stay on the same network as you

T-Mobile and Orange already have it, launched last month. Had it confirmed to me by them on the phone the other day that the iphone 5 will be able to use it straight from launch whether it be a t-mobile to t-mobile call or t-mobile to orange call, never mentioned Three though. Quite a few of my friends are getting the new phone on orange or t-mobile so i'm expecting my first call to be an HD Voice one. Three use the same 2100mhz band so i could see it being technically possible to do an HD voice call from T-Mobile to Three, whether you can or not is a different matter.

ORANGE have just tweeted this! :

Great news - existing Orange customers can now order their iPhone 5 nano SIMs from customer services on 150

02 Nano Sim

Went into an 02 shop today and managed to get a nano sim.

Had to persuade then guy as he seemed to say that i would receive one in the phone box but all good. Will be using the 02 sim swap website to change my simplicity contract to the new nano sim ready for Friday.

:);)

Really I was speaking to T-mobile live support on their site and they said that I will only get Wideband when I move over to EE, as it will be available when 4G is available. But then you can never trust that these support people actually know what they are talking about.

I asked for a HSPA+ coverage map and they sent me a link of the iPhone 5 specs and told me yes the iPhone 5 supports HSPA+ see here!

Useless support people!

Anyone used Insure and Go before?

Looking at getting insurance for the new phone and they seem the cheapest at £39.50 a year

Got my sim from O2 Huntingdon at lunch. Still trying to work out if O2 have the best deals, anyone used GiffGaff before?

Just picked up 4 O2 Nano sims for Staines in Surrey, waiting for my number to be moved as we speak. Any news on when the iPhone is shipping from Apple?
