Anyone know where I can get an O2 nano SIM? Dont have a store anywhere near me.

In all honesty their handling of the iPhone 5 has been nothing short of abysmal.

Has anyone else who ordered early still not been allocated an iPhone?

I got my order in at 8:22am, its been 'Preparing for Shipment' since Sat. and Apple have taken the money out of my account. I only have one Apple ID and this is the first time I've ordered directly from them.

Have you tried this page to see if you have been allocated one? if you have there will be a serial number: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...5jXNtdX_KfgmL1_SA&sig2=plOD06cfhOo9_sj5d4o57Q

Don't worry, everyone In the UK is at the "preparing for shipment" stage.

I just got mine 10 minutes ago. 2 Nano SIMS in fact.

Walked into my local little O2 store, 30 seconds later, walked out with them.

Why will it take 1-2 days longer to reach you? what is their explanation?

There hasnt been any explanation so far. There is 3 of us in the office here, none of them have been assigned, all sat as "Processing" and all received the same email.
All of us ordered between 8 and 9 on the morning so I dont think it can be a cse of being too late with that.

ffs! look at @TmobileUKHelp feed.

They're now telling people Nano SIMs will be available to order from Friday and cost £10.21! the Absolute shithawks.

How are they missing a trick and forcing you to leave?! They have sim's, they're sending them out by post or you can go pick one up and keep your existing tariff etc. Am keeping my rolling 30 day deal with unlimited data from the 3g days and the sim will be with my by post tomorrow morning. This process never made me feel like they're 'forcing me to leave'?!

I was tempted to try 3 this time but their signal is terrible where I live (near Kingston, SW London. Hardly Timbuktu but I can't get a signal at all indoors on 3...

Me too, unlimited 3G :)

Nonsense. Three still use Orange for GPRS, except in areas where their own 3G service is able to cope with the demand and there is no need for GPRS.

Not anymore. I stopped getting GPRS signals some time ago and I read it on gizmodo or engadget. Cant remember which.

Everyone in the UK are 'preparing for shipment', I wouldn't expect this to change until tomorrow at the EARLIEST.

Let me clarify, I'm not asking when the shipping status will change but asking about having an iPhone allocated on the Apple Support site, so I can get the serial no.

Currently, I don't have anything listed/allocated.

Ah I see I'm not sure then, my was on there when I looked. Did you order it with the same account etc etc?

This is amazing news! Glad I stuck with 3.

Not sure if this works cross carrier though when other networks get theirs working?

Three have said they are working to get it across carriers. Seems this is a technical limitation for many.

Chances are you may never experience a wideband call as it needs to be from a compatible handset to another compatible one and on the same network. Could be 1-2 years before we see it across network as I can see them all trying to use this fact as a reason to convince your friends to stay on the same network as you

You can have a look at this site to find out where their nearest mast is:

OFCOM Sitefinder

Thanks for that- have had a look on there before and then again just now. There's a 3 mast approx half a mile down the road. Its about the same distance of the closest O2 mast. I easily get 5Mbps on O2 with an iPhone 4; using a 3 sim in the same handset makes it as useful an iPod touch when it comes to making phone calls / using data etc! Despite that, I've actually ordered another free 3 sim just to see if there's been any improvement since last time I tried...

Phone them and they'll send one in the post. Stay away from the online chat people, they seem useless.

Just ordered my nano sim from Orange for free. The guy said I should definitely receive it by Friday. My Belkin case is here too Yay!! Its Christmas everyone!!!:D

Maybe i'm a little old fashioned for this online 'pre-order' world. I'm one of those old school queue up on the day sort of people. I did it with the iPhone 4 and weirdly quite enjoyed it; being in a queue with fellow nutters waiting for some geeky gadget.

Question is are there any other people doing the same thing? I've pre-ordered at the Orange store for £25 and will be queuing up on Friday morning. However I've not heard of others doing the same or talking about the in-store stock allocation or even whether it exists.

One other question, if I get it at the Orange store, a big if, then do I need to get a nano sim before or will the chances be they have them if they are handing phones out too?

What a joke. That'll be me leaving for Three then...

Check coverage first, I have just ditched Three for T-Mobile. I live just outside London and I don't get signal in any building weather it is my work place, shopping centers, shops, restaurants anywhere, infact various points outside too :S

And I'm near the city! God only knows what rural areas will be like, so check!

I agree, it's tempting to quit T-Mobile because of this but Three is just not an option, terrible signal strength, and forget indoors.
