I rang Vodafone on Saturday morning to request my PAC code as I'm leaving for 3. Sure enough PAC code was received almost immediately.
However have just had a call from Vodafone to ask why I was leaving (despite
me telling them at the time I was going to 3).
I explained again and he has just told me that although 3 are offering a better deal they will be unable to sustain that for a much longer. He reckons they will withdraw unlimited data and put their prices up once they've got people on contracts. He said that their network won't sustain what they are currently offering for much longer.
I told him that if that happens I might regret my decision but that it is a risk I am prepared to take.
Hmm... sounds like sour grapes to me as Vodafone must realise that they are losing people hand over fist to 3.
Sour grapes probably as he obviously wants your business.
BUT....without even knowing it, he is right!
Three stated off SHOCKING....then they really stepped up their game and became the biggest and best data network in the country, blew the others away.
However they may have became a victim of their own success now and they need to invest desperately.
The network has struggled recently with capacity, used to fly, but not so much anymore. Currently going through the usual process of engineers looking at postcodes to figure out what is wrong in a lot of areas of London. Also up north everyone I suggested moved over to three are struggling now, data speeds and signal nowhere near what it used to be.
I have three twitter support 7 postcodes to check, ranging from down south to up north and ALL had capacity issues which "should be resolved soon hopefully" !!??
So this has made my decision easier, will be paying off/terminating (depends on outcome of fault checks) my contract with three and moving over to Orange. I hated orange in the past, very slow data in a lot of areas, but wanting to make the move to EE 4G so should be a short stay on orange.
Three remember give pretty much everyone unlimited data now (even PAYG) and they also provide Samba mobile with data where users get it FREE....all of this is taking its toll.
