I was told in the Cambridge store I would have to wait until next week, and ORDER an adapter.
Oh. Some disparity going on here then - I literally walked into the store, said I've just signed up to Three and need a nano-SIM adaptor. The girl got one out of the cupboard straight away and sent me on my way. All took less than thirty seconds. Never even asked for proof that I have actually just signed up to their network!

Has everyone from Orange still got the same? Has been like this since order was placed (yes I'm aware it was a late one :( )

What did you actually say to them? That you've just signed up for a contract or? I only ask cause I'm on Orange and I need an adapter so I might try and blag one from 3 tomorrow since they seem to have more than enough to go around haha ;D

Nope, the number I got sent always says its an invalid number but I think thats because I was sent that 'It'll be delivered monday' text by mistake. Thats the only text ive received.

I got my nano sim from an O2 store where the guy didn't even know that the sim pack included the two adapters!

I'm aware that this may be a silly question, but I'll ask anyway.........

Are sims specific to the provider that issues them, or are they somewhat generic and can be used for any network?

I know they all have a unique serial numbers allocated, but for example could you walk into a 3 store, get a nano-sim, then port your existing O2/Vodafone number etc onto that sim? Or, are the sims' serials perhaps recorded against the issuing network somehow, and it would simply fail?

They are Subscriber Identity Modules which are network specific. You can port numbers across networks though.

No my number keeps saying not recognised, i assume i am not one of the first adopters to be getting the iPhone 5 :mad::mad::mad:

Do you think I should order the iPhone 5 from Three or buy a sim from Three and the iPhone from Apple? (on contract - it's pretty much the same price for the same amount of stuff)

Im out on the town thursday night now! and if im in town still at 3am or anywhere near that time i might just settle down a bench outside the store! better than going home and coming back 3 hours later lol

Lol well I might be there too, sleeping bag and fold up chair :)

Same here, the idiot.. And when asked for the sim, he was like " we are not meant to be giving these out until friday " But funnily enough O2 themselves told me that the sims can be collected in store as of yesterday! Jokers

Glad I am leaving them to go on to t-mobile but still need an O2 sim until my contract expires next month.

Well, Apple have taken my money from the card. Good sign....
And I already have the new O2 sim up and running.

Who do Three use for deliveries? Preying to the almighty one thats its not YODEL (probably the worst company in the UK)

Someone say DPD or DHL and its :D and hugs all round !
