How do companies react to you requesting another courier?
I never really thought of doing that.

They normally do dispatch it with a different courier - their loss of business at the end of the day! Only problem is that you have to spend about 2 days emailing before you can order!

At least my rMBP I ordered on Thursday shipped yesterday.. but expected delivery date for that is 25th Sept!

Apple are killing me!

(btw is there anyway to track deliveries from China as the Apple tracking says it dont have any detail until my items are merged and with my local courier)

Interestingly, he also said that if you have gone for the 32gb version, you're more likely to get your phone sooner. apparently they have far more stock of them than 16gb or 64gb.

I don't think its that they have more 32GB but more a case of most go for 16GB. Thats why if you ordered a 32GB on sat your still more likely to receive on Friday than if you ordered a 16GB on Friday afternoon/evening

My account at Apple says this :(

I have a bit of a wait still :(

Did you order 2 phones or 1 phone and something else like a lightning cable. If you ordered something with it then that's why your delivery is delayed. It's waiting for lightning cable/adapter stock. Remove it and you may find it jumps up.

It's not delayed. I ordered at around 4pm after I realised I was going to leave O2 and get a SIM only from 3. By then pre-orders for the 32GB was '2-3 weeks'. I took the hit and will need to be patient. Might be a slim chance it comes a little earlier? 2 weeks from the 14th is the 28th surely so not sure why it's 2nd to the 8th. 5th should be the latest as that 3 weeks from the 14th.

Anyone on 1st Oct delivery? Seem to be seeing a lot of 2nd/5th, but not that many 1sts?

Not that one day makes any difference, just curious...and bored, very bored.

Vodafone nano-sim arrived this morning after ordering on Friday over the phone (the lad I ordered from was excellent, very clued up). New customer on a 30 day contract.

No adapter though. I ordered one from an ebay seller called computestore who was very slow to respond to messages and didn't send the adapter until today despite me ordering and paying for it on the 13th.

I'm exactly the same. Did you have to wait for you email with account and new phone number to get the nano sim? I don't have this yet but do have my pac code from O2 but chatted to Vodafone today on livechat and they couldn't order me one

Sounds like there is a misunderstanding somewhere along the line....

So are you saying then, in your opinion, that sims are basically non-network specific, and if you laid your hands on a a nano-sim from somewhere, then you could in theory port/transfer your existing number onto it regardless of your network provider ie. 3/O2/Vodafone etc?

Yep.

October 1st, Thinking about queueing up at the apple store around 6am, to get it on release date, maybe cancel the order whilst in line

According to Vodafone:

Your order has been selected in the warehouse and is pending dispatch

Email I got after ordering said expected Friday 21st delivery. *rubs hands*

Pants. I've had nothing from Voda.

What size did you go for? I went for 64GB.

Darn, I ordered as soon as the preorder went up on their site.

October 1st here, can wait, Only a week on monday and could arrive earlier as impatient people cancel from friday onwards due to getting their phone from the stores.

managed to do a quick download test on Three's 3G and I managed to get close to 6mb download.. and that was indoors!

If they keep that up I will be seriously impressed.. I know they were pretty flakey when they were first on the scene so avoided them but now with their prices and unlimited data they're gonna be hard to beat

Okay, I'm nearly set. I have an unlocked iPhone 5 pre-ordered with Apple for delivery on the 21st (still says 'Preparing for Shipment', mind), a Three nano-SIM (the £12.90 one month rolling contract one) and both mini-SIM and micro-SIM adaptors (picked up today for free from the Three store at London Liverpool Street).

My question is this: do I insert the nano-SIM via the adaptor into my iPhone 3GS to activate it and port over my number from O2 now and beat the rush on Friday, or do I leave it so that the new iPhone 5 is the first thing the nano-SIM goes into? Will activating it in my iPhone 3GS make the 5 miss out on any carrier settings or anything? Thanks!

I would activate it it beforehand to make sure that everything is working. *Some people have said that their nano SIM didn't work and they had to get another sent out. *Also if you have a problem of any kind it would be easier to get it fixed when their CS is a bit quieter.
Right, I've put the new Three nano-SIM into my 3GS with the adaptor. The phone just says "No Service" - should something have happened? How long should Three's activation take?

With 3, It took my girlfriend's and my sim card about 8 hours or so. They should have told you it can take anything up to 48 hours.

Just keep your original sim in until you lose signal or can't make a call, then switch :)

I ordered from 3's website early this afternoon - according to the site it'll arrive on Friday. Do you guys think this is likely?

Would be sad if it didn't, but will be getting £101 cashback, so happy even if I have to wait (not too long obviously)

o2 have had a nightmare getting it together for this release with information. How one company can have some many different things coming out of it is unbelievable.

Anyways, got the nano sim yesterday and have set it up this evening. Using the texting service, literally took 10 minutes for it to swap over. So my iP4 is marrily using the nano sim awaiting the 5 :D

How do you do the sim swap via text this online doesn't seem to be working, although i used loads of times before and normally done within the hour.

Did mine online last night. Thought it was quick and simple. Then tonight I called them as it still hadn't gone through. Did it over the phone and it transferred in 5 minutes.
