I'm with Three and glad I am, they currently have HSDPA+ which the iPhone 5 finally supports, and they'll be getting LTE within the next 6 months. Also very good value and they have info on Nano SIMs already.

Just got off the phone with my local 3 store. They have nano SIM's in store and can swap anyone over who buys a SIM free iPhone 5 :D

Now to sell my 4S...

64GB White Factory Unlocked... anyone fancy it?

iPhone 5 thread probably not the right place to advertise ;)

So can you pick up a Nano SIM before you get the iPhone 5? I remember my Vodafone store asked me to bring my iPhone 4 in to get a Micro SIM.

I didn't ask that, tbh it would make no sense to do so, you'd have to go back into the store once your iPhone5 arrives to have the account swapped over... unless you get a nano->micro SIM adapter....

Actually, forget I posted this.

Of course it will function on non-LTE as normal 3G phone.

Three.co.uk has already listed the Nano-sims as confirmed. http://www.three.co.uk/_standalone/Ready_for_Three_3

Thanks!

Spoke to O2 and they said:

Nano sim available on 21st sept. Mine is gonna be delivered to my home address- very kind of O2.

Migration from old micro-sim to nano-sim will probably take 24 hrs after that...

so all in all it will be like 24hrs after getting ip5 that it sill be fully usable.

I got the same info from O2, bit of a poor show if that is the case, but in all fairness it was only announced yesterday so by early next week we will know where we really stand.

O2 have revealed contracts earlier... But they are clearly going to mean the handsets cost a ridiculous amount of ££... Unlimited minutes/text & 1gb data on all of them! We all know no one really wants unlimited minutes and they'll use it as an excuse to charge probably up to £500+ for the 64gb one lol.

I don't understand why they're only offering a 24 month contract? Mine is a 12 month at the moment.

I'm going to Mazuma my 4S, it's not in tip top condition and they're quite.. lenient.

i heard the same, but where do we apply for it :p

O2 seem to very very nice this year, just noticed this in their iPhone 5 nano sim section:

Need to use a different phone?

If you ever need to revert your nano sim to another phone, we'll give you a converter.

Your nano sim pack will come with two converters: one for micro sims and one for standard sims. If you ever need another one, you can get one at an O2 shop.

Free nano->micro/regular sim converters! I don't know why this makes me so happy lol.

I have been assured that availability of nano SIMs from Three won't be a problem. They have large stocks in the warehouse already. I don't know the mechanism for distributing them yet, but I expect something will be announced within the next day. :)

That's good - they're saying that there'll be more details today.

Where did you see that? They've only just signed a deal with Samsung to provide the hardware and EE are not in a hurry to release the 1800MHz spectrum to them. I'd say 6 months is highly optimistic.

They were talking about before the end of 2012 so I added another 3 months leeway.

"Three has licensed existing spectrum from other providers in order to rollout 4G phones on 3, hopefully before the end of 2012."

does anyone know if O2 will provide these Nano Sim packs for customers buying the phone unlocked from Apple?

you'd have thought the carriers would have been ready to announce their compatibility/plans etc.. first thing this morning.

They all want to beat each other, so they wait as long as possible to get the best deals out there.

these will be for the people coming to o2 with simplicity and handset only, the guys already with o2 or getting a contract with handset will get the correct sim in the phone box
