I think its safe to say the UK shipments are coming from our neighbours in Cork Ireland not China like the US ones.

Therefore there likely wont be any shipping notifications until late Wed or Thurs.

I think DPD automatically deliver the next day unless you tell them otherwise. The E-Mail is just for if you know you won't be in Friday and want to tell them to deliver it Monday. Saves them a wasted trip.

Thank you. Not trying to annoy everyone. Just have no idea and yeah I'm excited for it. I always queue up you see.

Will the iPhones be shipped tomorrow if delivery date is 21st I've been waiting ages for a tracking number and I defiantly want to know if I'll get it Friday.

what was there reason? if u dont mind me asking

They said they are overwhelmed with orders due to them exclusively doing lte for the ip5. Both over the phone and visiting my local branch has resulted in them saying there is no chance for Friday delivery.. I have no idea why they are saying this yet other providers are almost guaranteeing Friday delivery for early preorders..

I phoned them. Was a bit worried with all the conflicting information regarding delivery dates. I actually phoned back up about 9:30 tonight just to see if a consignment number had been given and the guy went into the usual defensive mode that everyone is describing on here of "we will not have stock of the phone till Friday, the phone will then be despatched then and will take 3-5 working days for delivery by ukmail blah blah blah" I let him give his speech before telling him I'd already been told they had stock and had been given an order number, got put on hold, came back on and said he spoke to his manager there, it's defo on for an am delivery this Friday and apologised for the mis-information as this was news to him. Still couldn't give me a consignment number though but noticed a note on the order the someone called Kayleigh was giving me a call tomorrow to give me a consignment number. Was quite chuffed with that last bit as it means I wasn't just getting fobbed off

I need some of that Brady1981 luck with T-Mobile customer service rep's! Every time I call I feel like im talking to a rock.

My nano sim arrived today, it really is tiny. This is the first time something has went completely smoothly with vodafone, now I'm just waiting for the sim swap to go horribly wrong! Need to give credit to the customer service people though, they are always friendly, although it does help if you do your research beforehand as many aren't informed of nano-sim policy etc.

Has anyone with a UK preorder from the apple store had their iphone shipped yet? Mine still says preparing for shipment which is fine as long as it isn't lying half way across the world i suppose :D

WOW really? What model did you order? I am going to look at the CPW site now.

I just cancelled my back up order with Apple today as well. How did t-mobile let you know that?

I ordered the 16gb white one. I've phoned them 3 times and visited the local branch and each time I've been told the same thing, that Friday delivery won't happen.

T-Mobile confirmed to me tonight that I'll definitely be getting it AM on Friday 21st via royal mail. Even gave me the order number for it. Consignment number will be available tomorrow. Cant understand why they have told you such a long delivery date. It was the 64gb I ordered and the did say the other day they were struggling to meet demand with the 16gb. Don't know if this is making any difference. When did they take your payment for the handset from your bank? Was it online or an over the phone order? Sounds as if they are giving you the wrong info, especially as you mentioned in an earlier post that your status was 'picking' would come after processing

I'm not sure when the money was taken, will need to check. Really don't understand how we've been told different things. Maybe it's a problem with the 16gb? I guess time will tell, but in the mean time I have a back up order with CPW.. Please keep us updated on here tomorrow if you get a consignment number!

Wow, that guy doesn't even speak English well enough to provide effective customer support. T-Mobile need to train their staff better.

The problem here is that due to the secrecy that Apple demand of people in the supply chain, it is impossible to train all the support staff... Otherwise there would be leaks all over the place....T-Mobile will have thousands of CSR'S in the UK..... Multiply that up to all the carriers globally.... That is a lot of people to try and keep quiet under NDA's

I feel for the people in the call centres who have to deal with our frustrations because of the way Apple whips up the hype around the products without allowing any of the carries to train staff in time.

I would put good money on people coming to work as CSR's to find out that the iPhone 5 has just launched and not have any training or info... Not through lack of organisation ....just the secrecy demanded.

As the iPhone gets bigger and bigger.... I don't know how long apple can maintain this secrecy.... Well I guess they have a harder time these days given the volume of phones made, media / consumer interest and the amount of people involved..... That is a lot of people to NDA.

How to move over to nano sim???

I pre-ordered a iPhone 5 with Apple, should be with me Friday, I'm on a iPhone 4 at the moment on O2 pay as you go Simplicity, I'm getting conflicting info as how I transfer my number and balance to the nano sim in the new phone.

When I picked up the nano sim in store they said either text the number 20202 or do it on the website, great, that's fine but some are saying I could do it now in my current iPhone 4 with a converter (which I wasn't given) or is it fine to put it in the iPhone 5 and do it then on Friday ( or whenever I get the 5 :-/ ) and then sync the phone from my backup in iTunes?

Thanks for any help.

I all honesty I can't say a bad word about them. I must have phoned them umpteen times in the last couple of days getting through to a welsh operator each time and they have been very helpful, knowledgable and quick to go and ask a manager if they didn't have an answer. I'm just a new customer with them moving from O2 but never had a problem with O2 customer services either. Only moving due to the chance to move to 4G in the coming months as I live in Glasgow city centre which is getting it

Just to clear up any confusion that stores may be giving you in regards to the T-Mobile pre-ordering:

If you pre-ordered from a TM or OUK store before the end of business saturday your handset will be waiting in-store for you on Friday. The handsets are getting sent out to the stores on Weds and Thursday so you should be able to call up and check when they have the delivery in to check on your pre-order. The handsets will have your name on the paperwork that will be sent with them so they can check directly. We were told today by the network that anyone pre-ordering now will not get the handset on Friday. What this means for Mondays pre-orders we have not been told yet, some might get them and some may not.

For the Nano SIMs the stores will be receiving them Wednesday or Thursday also. Probably cost you £10 if you are replacing your existing SIM and not getting the phone directly from TM (not sure on OUK's policy)

I've not had a good experience, they don't want to take ownership of an issue. They just say they are not responsible for the decisions which is true, but they should be willing to escalate the issue up the chain. I've filled in the complaints form on there website now.

Are you sure you weren't given a SIM adapter? It should be in the nano SIM pack. Its better to do it earlier since there is a high probability of system crashes on Friday leaving you hanging dry

That said if you do it now and don't have an adapter you'll end up with a working nano SIM that won't fit in your existing phone.

The other option is go and get a nano sim from Three and use their adapted for your SIM.

You dont need to get a sim from Three, I went to a Three Store today, I asked about adapter and they instantly ran off and came back with just an adapter and gave it me :p

Rolling contract sim

As giffgaff are moving their unlimited data to only the £15 tariff upwards, im now looking at the other sim only deals out there.

Ive noticed that 3mobile do the Ultimate Internet SIM 200 1 month, £12.90 p/m, and you can also add tethering for £5 p/m, making it £17.90 p/m. Does anybody utilise this tethering, what are your experiences.

My only worry is about 3s network coverage. The last time I was on 3mobile, (over 6 years ago) coverage was very spotty to say the least. One thing I can say about O2/giffgaff is that ive never really had problem with decent coverage

Also quidco offer great cashback for ordering 3mobile sims, e.g £25 cash back for Ultimate Internet SIM 200 1 month. approx £90 for an iPhone 5 contract.

I must say I have had conflicting responses from them, so I am going to phone the number suggested by Brady tomorrow and hopefully clear things up!

Then again O2 seemed very messy when it came to pre-orders initially, with users getting told soon where soon meant in 10 hours! It seems most UK networks at some point have been having bad customer service. But at the moment it appears T-Mobile seem to be the ones with the most confusion.
Which is unfortunate as I have pre-order with them!

I find it odd that Orange give tracking numbers and T-Mobile don't when they are under the same parent company and the websites are virtually identical though.

Do you work for T-Mobile? if not where did you get the information? also when you say ™ or OUK stores I assume this does include online?

Interesting. Thanks for this! I pre ordered at a T-Mobile store on Monday and was told there would be one waiting for me for collection on Friday. Surely won't it vary from store to store? As in demand and stock etc. If you find out any more information on Monday pre orders can you keep us informed? Thanks.

So what happens to people who preordered first thing over the phone on Friday?

No pack (probably cos I bought the phone from Apple instead of them), just the sim on the card in folded cardboard with the instructions about texting that 20202 number to balance transfer to this new sim, I got this free, thought I might have to pay £10 topup for it but no charge which was nice but no converter/adapter with it.

What should I do, should I ask in store tomorrow for a converter, and do the transfer in my current iPhone 4 and then just pop it into the 5 on Friday or do the transfer in the 5?
