UK iPhone 5 thread

I ordered with Orange over the phone first thing on the 14th, wasn't given a tracking number though! Should I have received this by phone or text? In fact, I haven't heard anything from them.
 
*sigh*. Reviews are already pouring in which means these folks have had iPhone 5 for days...meanwhile i'm still stuck on...

I haven't had any tracking number from orange for the 5. Was told will get a text the day before it comes.
 
I ordered a black 16GB with vodafone on launch day.
My order status is "Your order has been selected in the warehouse and is pending dispatch". Are other Vodafone customers seeing the same thing?

My only worry is about 3s network coverage. The last time I was on 3mobile, (over 6 years ago) coverage was very spotty to say the least. One thing I can say about O2/giffgaff is that ive never really had problem with decent coverage

I thought giffgaff's plan was going to £12.50 or £13? Oh well, i was on giffgaff until a a few days ago and i've now moved to 3 because they were offering nano sims extremely fast unlike giffgaff which are useless when it comes to new sim launches.

Anyway, i get a better signal on 3 than i did on giffgaff, and i've just done a speedtest and i'm getting 6.86mbps down and 3.44mbps up. That's decent.

3s network coverage was pretty bad a few years ago but its much better now i believe. They have a network coverage thing on their website, check it out, you just enter your postcode.

Regarding the Three credit check, when is this done?

I ordered a 1 month rolling contract, is the check done as you order or at a later date?

Credit checks are carried out as you speak to them.

Most companies advise you that they are doing one in you and then confirm wether you have passed or not.

No product which requires such a check would not be supplied.

So if I ordered a sim-only deal online the check will have already been done?

Their does seem to be a lot of panic over being able to obtain nano sims !

It takes one thread talking about these sims which seem to snowball !

Actually getting the iPhone 5 in the first place is another !
 
Looks like the Apple.com pre-order thread will be overtaking us :/

2 days away now until D-Day. :)

I'm not so worried about getting a sim (although of course I will need one.)

I was just worried as that guy before said he had failed the credit check for Three and wondered how long they'd leave it to tell me (get my sim today then a few days down the line I get told I've been rejected although I've used minutes, texts and data!)

I'm not saying it will happen, just a worst case scenario.

Vodafone Nano Sim - Check

Apart from a lack of Nano-sim adapter I'm all set. Just need the iphone and I'm ready to rack up insane data costs!! WHOO-HOO!!...Damn it....

I also ordered a nano sim with a 1 month rolling contract from Three and mine was delivered with no problems. If you've never been declined for anything by a credit check then i wouldn't worry about it. ;)
 
Pre-Ordered my iPhone 5, the morning it was available.

American Express have taken the full amount from my account and my order says "preparing for shipment" - hopefully I should receive it on Friday :)
 
I wonder how the news that online orders are slipping again is going to effect sales in stores.
