I'm looking to buy it sim free and get the sim swapped over from T-Mobile. As it stands they are currently clueless about when they'll get nano sims for existing customers! Anyone had any luck with them?

Just phoned Orange....the guy there told me they are DEFINITELY doing pre orders for the phone on contract from tomorrow at 8am....same time as apple are doing the unlocked versions.......he didn't know if we could order online at 8am tomorrow, but said definitely they are on the phone.....and the tarrif prices may come out tonight sometime hopefully but unsure.

Hopefully the tariff prices come out tonight, then I can decide if its worth paying the £70 to upgrade early.

Am i the only one who thinks iP5 is really a harder sell for 4S users. Outside of the bigger screen and LTE (A6 vs A5 isn't that much of a jump to me) there is very little advantage.

4S users get 100% compatibility with iOS 6 and the hardware is by no means a slouch.

Yes, if I had a 4S I wouldn't bother upgrading. I'm upgrading from my iPhone 3GS 16gb which I have had for just over 3 years, so I can't wait!

Its not a hard sell to me as I end buying a phone every 6 months! so in 2 years I've owned 2 iphones and 2 samsung's I then just hand them down the line to wife and kids, but its the same every year unless your on a 2 year cycle.

Delivery address

Will Apple ship these to work addresses (i.e. not the billing address?).

I've never had an issue getting a launch day product from Apple. The iPad 3 was available everywhere on the high street, and my iPhone 4 and 3GS I walked into O2 stores with no lines and picked one up. I think the the 5 may have more issues with demand due to the 4G/LTE though. We shall see.

Cheers.

yes, my 4S was delivered to my work address

Info from Three

some info from the oxford street three store.

Contract/upgrade pricing is to be revealed 7am tomorrow.

Pre orders are taken in store from 9am - you cannot preorder by phone or online. A pre order guarantees a handset on launch day that you can pick up at any time at your leisure.

You dont have to pay the handset cost until the day you pick up your phone.

Nano sim packs (including adaptors) will be issued tomorrow. Your sim will be transferred instantly.

Remember, when the iPhone 5 comes out Apple will only be selling 16GB iPhone 4S so people with 32 & 64GB shouldn't need to sell straight away, they will hold more value than the standard 16GB models.

----------

I am not 100% sure whether to wait tbh, I waited last year and managed to get one a couple of weeks after launch.

Luckily mine was the 16GB :D

Just got a nano sim from a 3 store. They are free when you sign up to a one month rolling contract.

I can confirm they don't do adapters for micro sim phones, only for normal sim phones

Is this the same for all Apple stores in the UK do you think?

That info was for the Three store. I did go into the apple store. You will have to source your nano sim from your network. However on the day they will be able to do contracts and upgrades in store (just not online)

anyone know if o2 are taking pre orders from people who have expired contracts they are still running on? I want to know if i can pre order of have to stand outside a store on the day!

UK Prices

Hi,
Sorry if this has already been posted-couldn't be bothered to read everything!

The 16GB is £529, 32 GB is £599 & 64GB is £699 & can be ordered by phone or online from 8.00am tomorrow. This is from Apple's enquiry line.

I have an iPhone 64GB 4S & do wonder about the cost and the benefit, although I have sorta promised my old phone to my son.

I'm with O2 Simplicity & have enquired about a nano-sim from them, although I'll stick with contract-free from Apple, if I talk myself into having the iPhone 5.

Just visited my local store too, they had plenty Nano-Sims in store for pay monthly available now, otherwise they would receive PAYG Sims tomorrow at £15 for my tariff.

Just phoned up Three to talk nano-SIM specifics, got close to ordering the £12.90 rolling 1 month w/ unlimited data... 'can I get that on a nano-SIM yeah?'... 'we don't have any of those?'... 'I'm looking at them right now on your website'... 'hold for 2 seconds please' ...comes back about 5 mins later... 'sorry sir there's been a mistake thanks for calling Three today'... and she abruptly hung up!

Some kinda conspiracy going on here.

I have a micro sim on a The One Plan 30 day contract with 3. I've just been into a 3 store to get a nano sim as a swap and was told I couldn't get one. I've also tried ordering one via 333 and was told I couldn't either. This is a contradiction from what their Twitter accounts are saying.

so just Three who have their **** together and the customer in mind today is it? shocking.

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm currently on a Simplicity O2 contract.

I want to get an O2 Nano Sim, but there is no info on that yet...

I also want to get an iPhone 5 on launch day, but I don't know when pre-orders will start.

On the 21st, I need to leave town at like 1pm. Any idea how early iPhone deliveries have started in the past? Is there ever a "Before 1pm" shipping option?

Exactly the same for me too, just popped out to their store at London Liverpool St Station and they said they aren't issuing nano sims for about a week! Clueless!

Hi folks

I also spoke to Orange today, they confirmed upgrades can be pre-ordered on the phone from 8am tomorrow for delivery on release day. The guy said they wil not know the plans / pricing until tomorrow morning themselves so no comment on that. I am looking for lowest up front cost, so hopefully they do similar deals as on the 4S now with unlimited everything for GBP51 per month with GBP30 up front.
