I'm pretty sure that UKMail like every other courier company work through the night - all of the sorting and bulk delivery stuff happens out of hours.
 
lesson learned in 2 years instead of over the phone or website upgrading I'm going instore like I did iPhone 4 I had no hassle like this

Mine is in Burgess Hill West Sussex, I live in Worthing West Sussex.

So yes, I think things are moving 🙂
 
CPW update!!!!!!!

Just called CPW and was assured that all orders are closed and as long as i ordered before yesterday when stock ran out they will be delivered for friday.

I asked why no confirmation e.mail of dispatch and they said problems with system due to huge volume of iphone dispatches.

I was told not to worry and assured phone would be with me friday - i got the funny feeling it was being said to keep me sweet.
We will see what happens but i don't have much hope.

Noticed iphone order page has slipped to 2 weeks for preorder deliveries now.

There will be some angry customers if these phones aren't delivered tomorrow as promised.

Ha - it would be if my delivery is late! I'm having it delivered to work and it's my last day! CPW have told me it would be difficult to get the delivery address changed once its in transit.

I didn't think that one through did I?

I got an update in that other shipment is with UKmail, not Royal Mail as I was told earlier. I now have a good tracking number.

The last useful call I had was with T-Mobile earlier on, when the guy refused to give me any shipping details, but said that, having looked at the order, I should expect to receive my handset "very soon." When I pushed him on it and asked if that meant tomorrow, he said that he wouldn't promise anything, as "people are posting so much stuff on forums, and if I say it's coming tomorrow and it doesn't, you'll be complaining about it." I asked if I should read between the lines and expect it tomorrow, to which he replied "you'll be receiving your handset very soon."

Still no text or email though!

I was about to give up hope but just received a text from o2 saying 'thanks for choosing to stay with us' etc and then checked my order status and says it's been dispatched!

I know exactly what you mean there - I told a friend about the reservation system, he didn't bother with it and just called them up on Sunday and it was dispatched yesterday.

Sods law was in full effect when not two minutes after posting that I was annoyed with CPW an "order dispatched" email arrived. There is hope yet!!
 
Called Orange up and they refuse to give me a tracking number and they just say they haven't recieved it yet. I called the morning they started taking pre-orders and sold my phone the day before and the woman on the other side of the phone is telling me I'm going to have to wait 8-10 days?! yet my friend on T-Mobile ordered later in the day and he has already had an e-mail confirming delivery dispatchment!

Haha definitely! I haven't actually received the physical 'order dispatched' email yet but on the order tracking website i've been provided with a tracking number.
