Finally took the courage to leave GiffGaff after finding out they won't be supporting the iPhone 5 for a FEW MONTHS!!!
Nano-sim on '3' ordered with a very similar package to GiffGaff. Panic over. Now to get up early and purchase this bad boy!!!

Let's be serious here folks, secretly there's some of us here who think the pre-orders will start at midnight so we refuse to go to sleep :)

Sorry if it's been said already, but does anyone know if there's an order limit on the apple store? Need to order two.

Doesn't look legit to me.

Waiting in line

Any of you guys had experience waiting in line on launch day outside the apple store? I don't have enough money to preorder but will do come launch day.

If the shop opens at 8am what time would you recommend being outside? Do many people really do the whole camping thing?

Here's a question for those of you more knowledgeable than me...

Since EE hasn't officially launched yet, I will be signing up for a new contract with either Orange or T-Mobile. Given that they now share a network, which would you plump for, assuming the prices are the same? Any first hand comparisons in terms of account management, customer service, etc?

They look a little cheap don't they? Or was I just wildly overestimating the contract price? Hope it's true that the Orange or T-Mobile match them :)

I paid £36 a month + £209 for 2 Years with orange, for an iPhone 4, so seems too cheap to be fair,

but if EE converge Orange and T-Mobile, will my 4G be enabled on the Nano Sim, or are they even doing EE/Orange Sim free phones.

EE are saying on their twitter to get it via orange or tmobile and then you can "easily switch" when EE is available. it won't be automatic, they say you have to basically start another contract with them, so if it's a month after starting on orange, that time will be added to the EE one, they said there may be (or will be) a fee as well

10.30 and no news from EE. Not great service hey.

EE have been saying they will be announcing their plans and that in the coming WEEKS if you look at their site and their twitter, so there's no chance they're doing pre-orders tomorrow, even less likely they will be launching next friday...

A few simple questions really, since we don't know the prices:

- What is each carrier's coverage like in your workplace/home/other frequently visited places?
- How much do you care about visual voicemail?
- Will 4G be a big benefit to you?
- Will 4G even be available (on any network) in your area during the lifetime of the contract?

- I think all are quite good as live in a fairly major city (Edinburgh) and don't travel outwith that much
- I do really like visual voicemail but I suppose I dont get that many messages so might be willing to compromise say for 4G if I can get it and it is worth it (for speed).........that I guess is what I am unsure about!!! AM sure I read EE were testing 4G in Edinburgh but not sure where I read that.

Right fair enough. So where are orange and tmobile? They have the prices of course so just release them.

Depends on the store.

I queued for the iPhone 4 at Manchester Arndale. Queued from about 3am and was sixth in line (although was first out of the store!)

I would say that by the time the doors opened at 7am (an hour earlier than scheduled!) there were roughly 100 people waiting. Seemed to have enough stock for everybody. I hear it was a similar story at the Trafford Centre.

So, all things being equal, you probably don't need to be there before 6am but the earlier the better. Nobody camped on this occasion, but we stood around chatting and doing our various bits and pieces. To be honest, we didn't even really form an orderly queue til there were around 20-30 people milling around.

The prices between 32gb-64gb don't = £100.Why would 3 sell a £100 upgrade for less than £100?

£100 difference is for sim free, contract prices have always differed by £10-£20 a model...

the networks won't release prices until someone else does first, so they can tweak theirs if they want. since orange has said they're doing 8am pre-orders, you can bet that all the other networks will release their plans at that time too

Well there you go then.

If you want visual voicemail but are willing to wait until the middle of next year (probably) for 4G go for O2.

If you're willing to sacrifice visual voicemail but get 4G by Christmas, then go with Orange or T-Mobile (and migrate to EE when it becomes available!) I can't tell you whether you should go with Orange or T-Mobile as you'll gather from my previous post (just above.)
