I've been with Three for over a year on their One Plan one month rolling contract and always been happy with them. I certainly plan to continue to use them for the foreseeable future.

I recently upgraded my phone from unlocked 4S to an unlocked 5 and while I don't think the download speeds are any faster between the two handsets I have always found the 3G to be decent pretty much everywhere.

I've seen a few people posting speedtest.net results as some people find them useful, so I thought I'd do the same. This was taken this morning in in Dorset.

I've just done mine. In Central London. 1.58Mb Down 0.39Mb Up

Can someone confirm/deny this for me please. O2 on web chat have just said to be there's a special 'upgrade to iphone 5' for exsisting customers. So basically even though im not in my upgrade period yet, there's an offer if i want to upgrade early to the iPhone 5. I haven't heard this anywhere else, and he couldn't tell me what the offer was, just to call 202 and find out if i wanted more infomation.

Anyone??

Cheers!

I saw a 6 month early upgrade on the O2 website. £61 on a 24 month contract.

You do the maths lol

Edit - £63.

Can someone with knowledge on the issue please help me with my query?

I just received my iPhone from CPW and it is contracted to Orange. I took out an Orange contract because I have a family member who works at CPW to take advantage of the staff discount. I found out that staff discount on Orange contract is only for staff members and only O2 offer the discount to family and friends.

I would like now to exchange my Orange contract for on O2 contract, but I was wondering, as there is a shortage of stock, would I be able to keep the phone and just ask for an O2 sim card? Or will the phone have to go back to? I have not activated the Orange sim card.

Cheers.

The phone and sim are orange stock and the phone will also be locked to EE.

You would need to return the lot and start again.

So what did they say when you called 202?

I would hazard a guess they would be the best to answer the question.

The process is outside of Three's control.

All of the networks use the same system, with the same rules and the same timescales.

As you gave them the PAC after 17:00 on Friday, your number should be ported tomorrow (Tuesday) and you should receive a text/email today to confirm that.

Day You Give the PAC (before 17:00) > Day your number is ported

Monday > Tuesday
Tuesday > Wednesday
Wednesday > Thursday
Thursday > Friday
Friday > Monday
Saturday > Tuesday
Sunday > Tuesday

In terms of the time that it happens, the system operates within working hours. Your number will actually port any time between 08:00 and 18:00. You will almost certainly lose service on both your old and new SIM during the day and at some points, both may work with the same number!

One thing to note is that the system requires that the network submits the port request by 17:30 for it to happen the next day, so if you give a network your PAC late in the day and they're very busy (as they almost certainly will be at the moment), then it might not happen the next day.

I sent them my pac code through the three app yesterday evening but not had anything since, do you know when I might get an email or text? Is there a usual time?

Hmm might give 402 a call :)

Got my iPhone today, it's beautiful! You really appreciate how light & thin it is, especially if you've had a 4 in a case for a few months straight.

I sat refreshing the upgrade screen on the 14th, eagerly waiting for the 5 to appear. When it did, I went through the preorder process.... only to realise at the end I'd clicked the wrong button and upgraded to a white 4s! Nice, I'd been a numpty and upgraded to the phone I already had. Rang O2 straight away and I was "too late" to cancel the upgrade! 5 minutes was too late lol.

Thankfully the phone arrived on the monday and I returned it within minutes. Return was processed on Thursday.

On 21st I rocked up at an O2 store in the sticks 15 minutes before opening... I was 6th in the queue! Got my white 64GB.

Loving it.

Just got my iPhone 5 today - black 32GB. It's absolutely beautiful!

The first thing that hit me was the thinness. The weight reduction is great, but my God, this thing in tiny!

Going to cut down my SIM later on - can't wait to use it!!

My black iPhone5 was damaged from Apple, call them up straight away.

The lady I spoke to, she arranged a priority replacement whilst I keep the dented handset and I can send it back a few days after, so that I'm always with a phone :)

You cannot beat Apple customer service

My black 16g was due today, TNT website said that it was not delivered due to time constraints, nit happy, so rang TNT at 2:30pm, lady on phone said it will be redelivered tomorrow, moaned and said is that garunteed as was now a day late, she wouldn't confirm and juts kept saying that it will be out again tomorrow for re-delivery, again expressed my annoyance and left it at that, went back to work. Then got home at 5:30 to see they had tried to deliver at 4:30pm?! Rang TNT again and guy said that first driver passed to another driver to attempt delivery, I said good effort but useless due to advice I was give just 2 hours prior, so now had to wait again to tomorrow. But frustrating I missed him by just an hour and if the first woman had said this was standard practice I would have waited in... Annoying especially as the first driver ran out of time at 1:10pm? Makes no sense, hope tomorow goes more smoothly!!

Dont know if this is common knowledge or has been discussed but im gonna post it anyway,

For those who have had their new number ported across following submitting their PAC Codes,

All seemed fine, text my sister (who has a HTC) to check my original number was back, she said it was, however when i text my Wife (iPhone 4s) she said it was still showing the new 3 mobile number (which came with the sim) after a bit of head scratching i realised that in the iMessage settings it was still showing the 3 number in the Send & Receive section, however it was greyed out and wouldnt let me edit,

However i discovered that if i turned iMessages off then back on again, it changed to my original number (from my old network)

As i said, it might be common knowledge but oh well :D

Gave Three my PAC code on Fri by dialling 333. Never got it in before 5pm as DPD delivered it just after 5pm! It's an automated service press 1...press hash...and at the end it told me that my number would transfer on Tues 25th Septemeber! So hopefully it will all go well tomorrow! Haven't had any texts or emails since though :-/

A man from DPD has just been and handed me my new iPhone 5.

Ordered as upgrade (from iPhone 4) from Vodafone on Friday night, and arrived Monday afternoon. Not bad going.

White 64GB

So thin, and so light, oooh.

Forgot to add the sweetener...

New tariff means not only unlimited voice and text with 2GB of data and wifi, but a 50% reduction in monthly cost, from 45 quid down to 30.

I'm afraid I don't.

Basically if you do anything other than giving them the PAC over the phone (call 333 from your Three phone to do that), it takes as long as it does for them to get through all of the requests that they have.

I submitted my PAC through the web site at about 16:35 last Friday and I got a text this morning at 9:00.

While the submission was before the deadline, they clearly had a lot of requests because of the iPhone 5.

Noted! Should come in handy tomorrow when mine changes over. Thanks.

No, I've used 3 or 4 sims so far, no activations after the first one.

All SIM cards from the same country? My problem seems to be between a Vodafone UK sim and an Etisalat one from U.A.E.

Also did you set it up as a new iPhone or from back up? If from back up was this an iCloud back up or an iTunes back up?

Thanks a lot! I am trying to narrow down the issue.

Got my iPhone 5 16GB white from Brent Cross Store today. Reserved it at 12pm yesterday (Sunday), got an email later that day saying come and pick it up whenever. Walked straight in. Found someone. 5 mins later walked out with it, even with a free vodafone nano sim. Went home, punched in SIM to vodafone website, iCloud downloaded data. Total time from 4S to 5 was 2 hours. Amazing!

PS I'm on pay monthly SIM, so that made it all easier.

Whats everyone's experiences with the scuffgate issue? Particularly with the bare metal (white) vs anodized finish (Black) and the black being easier to scratch?

Does anyone on Three know what happenes to your My3 login after you port your number? Can acess My3 using the number that 3 gave me as login but will this change when my number ports?
