Anyone lucky enough to get a reservation?

Day 4 for me, out of my 3 reservations today (at different stores) i got.....none of them!! I'm off out in the morning to take a look at the Samsung S3.

Nope! Decided just to order with apple.com and wait it out............well, I do have a black 5 but sending it back for the white! Now just to wait 3-4 weeks! EEK!

Why don't you just phone Apple and ask for an exchange to a white one? That's what i did, there is no need to send back the black one and get a refund and then order the white one. You can just ask for an replacement. I got my black iphone on launch day (21st Sep) and phoned them that day to ask for a replacement to white, and i had my white one on Tuesday (25th Sep) and they also took the black one back on Tuesday aswell.

They said it would take about 7 days in total but that was just an estimate and it was done much quicker.

Did UPS do the swap? Did they call/email/text to let you know when they were coming?

I thought of that but there is nothing wrong with my black one. Was yours damaged? I didn't think they would do that just because I want the white one?

It's two seperate couriers that do it all. UPS phoned me on the Monday and arranged to collect on Tuesday, and i got a dispatch email from Apple on Monday evening saying the white one would be delivered Tuesday. The white ended up being delivered before the black one was picked up by UPS.

TNT delivered my white one.

Again no luck for the forth day!! I think apple are gonna loose a lot of customers! I'm seriously thinking to get something else!

Nope, mine was absolutely fine. Apple probably wouldn't care, they care about the customer being happy and customer satisfaction and all that.

Believe me they aint as bad as O2. I have a business contract with them, or shall I say I do until I swap in the next few days.
Since pre-order I have probably spend four hours on hold collectively, ordered 6 hand sets on launch day by the end, yes SIX handsets to be told they had the white ones in stock to be followed by the black "in a few days"
Told the three white 32gig unit will be dispatched Monday to me Tuesday.
Called Monday to double check that things were getting dispatched, "yes three white unit are down for dispatch today, delivery on Tuesday"

Muggins here ended up sitting in the my office all day (staff were out selling to help pay for the phone) waiting on Mr. Yodel to turn up. Mr. Yodel shows his face at the usual time, but ZERO phones. Back on the phone to O2 Business, 40 mins on hold as per usual. This is the answer I got. " Sorry Sir I can't understand why you was told we have or had stock. We haven't had any stock since we ran out of them Saturday morning the day after pre-orders started. We won't be seeing any stock for at least 3 week but could be as long as 6 weeks!"

This is what is called sharp practices. It's also one of the oldest tricks in the books, you can't ******** a sales rep which is why I can see through this type of crap. They make you think they have a product only to be told you was miss-informed. They then hope that you don't cancel your orders.

Well I did. I have been with O2 for several years and have seen their customer service go to ****. You think you have it bad as a normal consumer, but when your spending thousands of pound per year with a company you'd expect better service wouldn't you.

Honest I wish I could just walk into any shop and sort this out too, but most of the high street shops won't deal with business users.....I'm glad I don't run my business like these idiots.

My word, it does sound like you have been through the mill with o2 business thats for sure. Its weird though as when I was with o2, I never had any problems with them and thought their customer service was great. Same with Vodafone. I suppose its all down to luck really as to how you get treated by each company as some people I take to say T Mobile are great but to me they are awful and some say that Vodafone are crap when I personally have had no problems with them in the past.

I will give them a bell in the morning and see. I will leave the one I have ordered alive at the moment just in case they say I can't swap it directly. Thanks.

Me too. Was looking at the S3 but don't really like white phones and the blue just looks awful. Now looking at the HTC one X, after using HTC for the last 6 years i like them so will probably go for that. I was being put off by the non replaceable battery or expandable storage, but then realised i was going to put up with that from an iPhone.

Thanks. The email had lead me to believe it would be the same guy dropping off and picking up the phone at the same time.

iPhone Customers: You can expect a UPS representative to arrive at the shipping address you provided, one business day from the day the repair was requested. The representative may arrive at any time that day, during standard business hours for your location. If the shipping address you provided is a work address, then please ensure that reception are aware and can locate you promptly. Please be prepared to give your original iPhone to the UPS representative upon delivery of the replacement iPhone. If you are not prepared to make that exchange, please understand that UPS will not be able to deliver the replacement iPhone. Do not include any other items, such as headphones or the SIM card, as they will not be returned to you. Also, please do not include any packaging as UPS will supply the packaging and send your original product back to Apple.

I spoke to Apple today and now have a replacement on it's way to me. They said 'You can expect a UPS representative to arrive at the shipping address you provided, one business day from the day the repair was requested. The representative may arrive at any time that day, during standard business hours for your location.'

Did UPS call you first? I don't want to leave my iPhone at home and be phoneless unless I know they're coming that day.

Mine was sent via TNT - although UPS are collecting my 1st handset - they called and asked when it would be suitable to collect - so I said in a few days time so I knew I had the new one in hand.

The Orange "5000"

Orange Customers

I've got a status of 'Collected' at 0951hrs this morning.....with delivery date of tomorrow.......

Whats the experience of others - are they managing to collect one day and deliver the next ?

No txt message - nothing.

I'm one of the 5000 Orange customers they offered the additional £30 upgrade to 64gb white.....and guaranteed delivery last Saturday....

Im going to try my luck, and order a Black 32GB and a Black 64GB at FOUR stores.
My Wife is going to do the same on her email address. With 16 Reservations going in I must stand SOME chance surely :(

But, I want it SIM free, so probably not.

I'm in the same boat, collected 26th, expected delivery 27th.
No text or email from Orange, I only noticed when I tracked my order on Orange's website.
I'll let you know if/WHEN it turns up tomorrow (Thursday) & if I get a text from courier.

So if I get an iphone on contract with 02 and its faulty or with scruffs/scratches once I unbox it. Do I take it back to 02 or contact apple (no apple store here). Also will it be a straight swap for a brand new iphone boxed because I don't want a refurb.

Thanks

You have to deal with o2 directly and not Apple. The only way Apple will sort it out for you is if you buy your contract from an Apple store. With regards to getting a new one straight away, it all depends on stock. If they have stock then the chances are you will get a replacement sent out to you quickly but with stocks so low at the moment, I would expect some sort of wait if I were you.

Indeed, most of it is down to how well the operators deals with you, most of it is down to training really, or lack of it.

Anyhoo I'm glad I'm swapping from O2, mainly because of the LTE issue when it does start rolling out on other networks people will be pissed off once they realise the current iPhone 5 is on the wrong frequency. Also unlimited data on the data hungry phone will be handy. I called t-mobile yesterday had a nice chat with a sales rep, phones ordered. I like the fact you get a direct line number for your rep which O2 never did. £30 per month, unlimited everything.

Now I just need to prise all the PAC numbers off O2....joy another 40 minute wait :(

Latest update shows "At Delivery Location"......which is interesting.....I've looked down the drive and its not sitting there........that was at 0603hrs - presumably when the driver picked up his load ?

This is going to be a bloody nightmare - the wife will be out taking our boy to school and walking the dog and then the delivery driver will turn up.......if they'd texted we might have SOME idea !

Has anyone gone for the T Mobile SIM only offer through Chitter Chatter? £15 ppm (or thereabouts) for the full monty?
