Not true.

Of course it's true, all you had to do is go to the Apple store site and read the page.

3-4 weeks, can you read it?

Just because a few individuals are lucky enough to score the 1 or 2 a store gets doesn't mean everyone can just walk in and get the iPhone 5 of their choice, or are you trying to say ALL Apple Stores now have excess stock of ALL variants of the iPhone 5 just to walk in and buy?

While your argument makes a lot of sense, it doesn't seem to be the way Apple Stores work. In particular, thinking back to iPad launches in years gone by the online stores have always been backed up by a few weeks while it's generally been quite easy to walk into a store and buy one any time.

:(

Tmobile UK :apple:5 16gb black

Ordered white one (24th Sept) initially then seen how nice the black unit was at the apple store... I am still waiting which feels like 3 weeks rather than 5 days at least I got the text we have not forgot!

My dad ordered day before launch and got a launch day unit (white, which was perfect out of box)

Has anyone ordered around the same date had any luck, what is your experience?

:apple:

No, you won't. EE customers can use the existing 3G network, but Orange and T-Mobile customers cannot use the LTE network. Essentially, the brands Orange and T-Mobile will eventually die in the UK as people move to EE.

Tmobile/ Orange userers have to sign a new contract comitment at the same price or more to have 4G once EE has started to roll out regardless of the reamining months on the current contract :D

Yes, but that is because you are changing service provider (your contract will be with a different company). They haven't yet announced whether your new contract will last the duration of the old one or start all over again (i.e. 24 months).

I'm not sure it will. Almost halfway through Sunday and still no change. Damn Apple!!

DAMN YOU APPLE CHANGE MY STATUS ALREADY!!! I think we may be looking at delivery closer to the 8th

I too ordered from Apple and was given a estimated delivery of 3-9 October there is no status change as yet. This is the first time I have not queued up at store for the iphone and I am sorry I was unable to do that this time. I hate the wait.

I wish I could've queued, or pre ordered at 8. Couldn't do either as I had no money at the time (glad I persuaded my parents to lend me it for a few days before I got paid or I'd be waiting much longer!) Also I was working so couldn't have queued :/

I agree. If its not changed by tomorrow morning then we're looking at around 3rd or 4th minimum.

Very True, I wonder how theses new traifs are going to work out? thoughts? :apple:

Don't think ee will have unlimited data or if they do it will be pricey.

I was thinking the same, I have gone with tmobile UK full monty 36/ 24month, great deal but when EE arrives I honestly think it will be atleast £46 - £50 for the same tarrif? :apple:

Any one have "datagate" in the uk?

:apple:

I'm currently on orange on the sim only one month rolling contract. I've hear three will be offering unlimited data when the launch there 4g network next year.

My gut feel is that the contracts will take over from where the one with Orange/T-Mobile left off, but I'd be unsurprised to see a £10 premium. I'd also be surprised if there are any unlimited tariffs.

Show me once where I said that everyone can walk into a store and pick one up? and when did I say that stores have stock of iPhone 5's? if you read my post, it clearly says that I was referring to when I bought my iPhone 4S. Can you read that?

Also if you actually did your research rather make out that your word is gospel, you would know that the stock levels of Apple products (instore) is completely different to the stocks they show online. The guy told me this when I bought my 4S and it makes sense as online they were out of stock but most stores during November had plenty of stock.

Spot on. Thats exactly how the stores work compared to the online store.

I ordered mine from T Mobile online on Sept 18th and was told that it would take up to 30 days for me to receive my phone but I got it on the 27th so it took just 9 days to get it to me. I reckon you will get yours at the end of the week mate.

Who cares what you did a year ago? It has nothing to do with the iPhone 5, or iPhone 5 stock, how about you follow the sequence of posts. Or the fact Apple have had 2 launches a week apart, and with follow up launches to bring the number to 100 countries soon.

Go and read up about the differences between the 4S launch and the 5 launch.

QUESTION
Does anyone know when we could just walk in and buy one? e.g in 1/2 weeks, or will it probably be at least 3?

ANSWER
I'd be surprised if there was any sort of free stock before the end of October. Demand is still outstripping supply, and Apple are in the process of launching in another 22 countries this weekend.

Even the on line Apple store is quoting 3-4 weeks on orders, so just walking in for one must be further away than that.

So, my actual answer was para 1, and then added to with a proviso about the Apple Store.

YOUR ANSWER
Not true.

So why bother answering if you weren't referring to the question in hand, does anyone actually care about what you did 12 months ago in an entirely different launch scenario?

Hi,

Has any Uk iphone 5 owners had to take their iphone into a Uk Apple store because of one or more of the reasons already discussed on here.

If so......

What did the Apple employee offer and do ?

How many iPhone boxes were they prepared to open ?

Did you purchase the iphone 5 through a network and if so did this make a difference to the avenues of resolution offered by the Apple employee/genius ?

I don't expect any problems with my newly ordered iphone 5 but am curious to know what my options are just in case !

Not being negative, just being prepared.

You have a 14 day satisfaction guarantee from Apple, I'm sure they would rather replace than refund when you go in.

Quick q as my request on the wallpaper thread has gone unfulfilled for a while now: Does anyone have any nice union flag and/or british themed iPhone 5 wallpapers? :) :apple:

Yes (wifi issues)

Offered to replace the phone

I only opened one, it was flawless.

I purchased my phone through Orange, no difference to the resolution, other than much quicker than sending it back to Orange and waiting for them to replace it (it would probably have been returned with a no fault found, as the problem was intermittent).

You still haven't admitted that online stock is different to in-store stock though but I don't expect you to admit that as you seem to know it all. Anyway, this is boring and I don't want to clog up this thread replying to your drivel.

Moving on.

I think a possible design flaw with the lightning cable may be the exposed connectors on the plug. I always keep the lead plugged into my PC ready to charge but should the plug come into contact with anything metallic or suffer an electrostatic discharge I suspect this could prove fatal for the lead. I will certainly be taking more care in the future.

Wouldn't happen, read this

What week number is your replacement phone?

Well after an epic combination of cock ups by three, myself and t mobile, I'm now trying to source a sim free iphone from apple like everyone else.

Any news on when UK online reservations will open up again?

After a 32gb white.
