UK iPhone 5 thread

No status change this morning as yet.

I am waiting to advertise my SG 111 which is only 2 months old and like new, I have tried it but am going back to ios. Where do you all sell your old phones to get a good price.?

Hope someone can advise me. I am planning to go on a 24 month contract with either tmobile or 3. I am assuming the phone comes sim-locked. Can I ask the carrier to unlock the phone for me? If it's sim-locked I will not be able to use my phone overseas. Sorry if this has been asked before.

The proof is in the pudding !

You could check their terms and conditions in their home pages and or give them a call.

They probably won't unlock until the contract is up tho to recoup the initial subsidy.

And yes it will be sim locked.
 
Damn! Woke up and just noticed that it is still processing!?! Sure it won't get here by tomorrow...I'm in the Oct 3-9 lot:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Thanks, but I will still be on contract with them. I just want to be able to use the phone abroad. But you're right, I should ask them.

Most of the Uk Networks have some form of roaming service.

Unlocking a contract phone on my network 02 is free but will only be done on completion of said contract term.

Thanks. Roaming rates are atrocious though! Just got some info off the websites, doable after 30 days, by paying a one off fee.

Personally I do not think this is bad follow up service, sending pictures of fault is usually the norm.

The initial damaged phone is bad I get that.

Couldn't you cut all this out and swap it out in store?

How do you know it isn't? (That sounds aggressive - just genuinely interested!)

BTW.... Reservations are..... OPEN.

Just put my request in.

Do apple proritise Safari? Had it open on a PC and my air, and the air had the open page, but the PC was still showing closed even after a CTRL+F5!

Is that a change in policy? Both O2 and Vodafone have been happy to unlock iPhones on day one for quite a while as far as I'm aware. I've had O2 unlock two iPhones within the first month of an 18 month contract.

I thought Vodafone was free, and o2 on contract also free - £15 on PAYG.

I don't know for certain, but it seems pretty likely. Myself and others on the forum have been ordering pretty much instantly at 9 everyday and have had no luck.

Also someone on here ordered the same model that I tried to get from the same store, but ordered several hours later than me, but they got a reservation where as I didn't.

Yes! Made 5 reservations for different London stores at 9:00 sharp. Knowing my luck, if I do get an email tonight, tomorrow morning by the time I'm entering the store my "pre-order" will change to preparing for shipment, so I won't be able to cancel it :-(
 
So, anyone one with a delivery of Oct 3 - 9 had theirs dispatched yet? Mine is still processing.

When I recently ordered a rMBP laptop prior to launch it took 5 working days from dispatch to arrive... which means it really needs to leave China today to even make the 9th October. Starting to get impatient!

Same here...no updates and getting really annoyed...although to be fair, in March when I pre-ordered the new iPad it made it here from China in 3 days, so there's still some hope

Same situation here, my rMBP shipped on a Saturday arrived Thursday.

Think our phones have been used to stock the Apple stores in the extra 22 countries that went live last week!!
