Delays are delays I'm afraid. This isn't a Country Club, nobody's money is "new money". Cash is cash to Apple regardless of whether you own 0 Apple products or 10, and every other company out there is the same
 
How fixed are the time slots for picking up a reserved phone in store? If you can only pick them up during a 1 hour slot, I may as well forget the whole thing unless there are still some available on Saturday.

Unbelievable how hard it is to get a phone. Stocks must be VERY low. How does this compare to the 4S or 4 launch when buying from Apple? I got mine from O2 last time
 
I must admit I've started to lose patience a bit.

I reserved a few white 32gbs at various vaguely-nearby apple stores and got nothing.

I was only gonna reserve once,but then read on here about people reserving plenty and decided to join in.

Hopefully there will be a lot more available tomorrow from people who didn't collect.

In the meantime,if anyone has a 32 white reserved anywhere in the north or midlands, and doesn't want it, or can't make the time, please feel free to chuck it my way - PM me :)

Don't forget they sold millions more on the 21st this year than the 4s launch, and demand hasn't abated in the original launch countries before Apple then launched again to the next 22 countries on the 28th.

With their aim of 100 countries by Christmas it will be a miracle if supply catches up with demand this year.

Whatever people are saying about the iPhone 5, it is undoubtably the hottest tech item released, probably ever.

Yeah no matter how loud the fandroids scream, there seems to be more and more so called 'sheep' joining each year. Must be so irritating for them :p

Guys, please note: these reservations cannot be exchanged or transferred. When you arrive, you will be asked for your name and surname, which they enter into their handheld devices. They will then ask for photo ID.

They will NOT sell it to you if the name does not match.

Ah ok. Is this common place in the UK stores? Photo I'd?? Seems a bit OTT, but then again I guess people really want them (including me).

What about people without photo Id?

If you are successful, the email will say to bring photo id when you collect. I've seen people come up with stories that they're collecting for their brothers,wives etc but staff has then refused to sell the iPhones.
 
Next year I might not bother pre ordering from Apple.

Bad enough a £30 price hike but to wait ages for it.. :eek:

I got my Ipad 3 on launch day in March at my local Comet..no hassle..can't they do it for the Iphone too? No it's all contracts
 
Great! Still processing!! I go on holiday on Sunday, so not gonna get it for before i go, was looking forward to using the camera while i was away. And will have to hope the courier doesn't lose it before i get back. :(:(:(
 
Anyone spoke to Apple about this long wait? Seems nobody in the UK has been getting iPhones for a few days...
 
When I did my reservation was able to collect any time between 9am to 5pm and they do ask for your ID.

wtf is going on. I called apple about this three times, and all they say is "it'll make the date on your window", Oct 3-9. I'm starting to think there's a real delay going on.
 
it's those lazy Foxconn workers. If they would just stop rioting for a minute and finish making our iPhones...
 
If they don't ship by the 6, it won't arrive in time. So 3 more days of potential.
Also, I think that the 2-8 and 3-9 batch must ship together now.
 
Holidays in China the entire week

Its Golden Week holidays in China this entire week of October 1st. Surely shipments will be delayed.

I was lucky enough to get one on launch day and ever since my Mrs has been bugging me to get her one, I was lucky enough to get a reservation at White City today (16Gb Black Slate), its under my name, if I go with her, will they let her upgrade or will I have to do it?

I don't think Foxconn will stop their factories....after all, Foxconn employees were the ones complaining when Apple/Foxconn decided to limit the number of working hours, as they couldnt get more money for the extra hours....pretty certain there will be a few thousand employees looking to be working on holidays to make some cash

Ship by the 6???:confused: That's optimistic :) Tracked shipments I have seen in these forums indicate that it's taking between 4-5 days from shipment to delivery, so to get it delivered by the 8th it must ship tomorrow at the latest.

I've just reserved a single 32 white at a number of stores. On one hand I apologise for potentially blocking other people here, but on the other, this utterly stupid random-factor lottery leaves me with little choice, and since everyone else is doing it, I don't feel too bad about it.
 
I don't ****ing believe it!! My mate at work went into CPW yesterday ordered a white 16gb model, he has just had an text message from yodel saying its out for delivery this morning!! This is so ****ed up!
