Still processing...

Same

I put a black 32GB into my basket at CPW online but couldn't bring myself to do it! I trust them about as far as I could throw them, maybe less! They could allegedly deliver one to my local CPW for Friday if I order before 5pm today.

For an order that was placed at midday on the 14th September it's disappointing to not have more info at this point.

Anybodys moved to shipped yet?

----------

Same...starting to get a bit angry because of the zero communication since we pre-ordered.

Yes indeed.

Especially when they pushed some peoples 2-3 weeks forward a bit and it's a bit of an insult they can't meet the 2 week time frame or atleast 2 and a half to three weeks.

As I say the 9th is over 3 weeks for most people. Isn't that more 3-4 weeks?

And if it arrives on the 9th shouldn't they be saying sorry I'm sure that date is just to cover any delays they are having.

Guys,

Currently on the apple UK site it says dispatched 3-4 weeks.

Where is that dispatched from? Is it China/America/Jupiter etc where it will take numerous more weeks or is it delivered pretty quickly once dispatched?

3-4 weeks is what it says now.

Many of us ordered at 2-3 weeks.

And I'd say once dispatched 2 working days atleast before it comes.

Cheers, I'm just wondering whether to order online or keep trying the random reservation or even hope the stores will have decent stock within a month.

You could order it off the site now and keep trying the reservations, and if you get lucky cancel the online order. I'd imagine with the wait times you'd have about 3 weeks of leeway to cancel.

No luck for me either, I've been trying since the reservation site went live. I've tried for Black & White in 16/32 and not gotten anything. I saw one person on this site managed to get a White 16GB, can't remember if it was Eldon Square or Metro though.

Hi mate, that was me, reserved last sunday afternoon and got e mail about 7pm that night, picked up on monday evening, well happy. At the time and thought loads would get them easy, not turned out to be the case.

It was from Eldon square, Newcastle
This is what I got

As a matter of interest, how may reservation requests did you make on the day you were successful?

And the worst part is that the template response is "you'll get it on time". We'll see, apple, we'll see.

you may not get a notification of shipping until the 8th then and it will still be within the boundaries of what Apple have told you.

Still no dispatch email nor has money been taken out of my account. This is a joke now!

Why is it a joke? Your delivery estimate is up to the 8th, they can leave it until the 7th to notify you and charge your card and you'll still receive your phone on the 8th.

Just looking at the T&C's at the bottom of that email. I wonder if Apple view multiple applications as "abuse" of the service.

I know this may p**s a few off but only one, I just thought there would be loads up for grabs when I got my e mail so thought nothing of it until I have watched comments unfold on here all week
Really hope it improves and u get your phones soon

This is something I've begun to suspect. Most people who are successful seem to be people putting one request in. The people going mad putting multiple requests at multiple stores seem to get nothing.

I wonder if Apple aren't using some sort of IP tracking in the reservation request page.

You put in 15 requests from one IP, you go straight into the bin.

Quite possibly as so many of those buying phones are simply selling them on ebay for a profit and the genuine good folk are getting nothing.

How do networks assign new stock they get in? Do they clear online orders and the bag log of pre orders. Or so they split it and give some to store for walk in purchases?

To be fair it doesn't say on the application form that you can't ...

It does, in a way, you can't buy more than 2. So reserving more than 2 would be an abuse of the system, and as posted a few posts back, Apple do reserve the right to refuse service to people they feel are abusing the system.

Of course, it's everyone's own choice how they reserve, but from reading here and elsewhere, people putting stupid numbers of reservations in at multiple stores seem to get nothing or very little, especially in comparison to people only reserving one.

If it was anything goes, wouldn't the 15 reservations at 2 or 3 locations a day person have far more chance of being successful than the 1 reservation at 1 location person?

It's always been on a waiting list, I'd be surprised if that's changed.

Stock arrives in the store, salesman starts phoning down the list of people waiting. When there is more stock than waiting list, they offer the balance to walk-ins.

Thanks for that. Clears that up. I makes sense.

The only time I've been offered a reservation is when I sent a single request. That was my first attempt at getting one.

I didn't want the phone at that point, but now want one. Since then, I have sent loads of requests every day and never gotten given one. I think tomorrow I will just send one request...
