How do you place a reservation? Do O2 let you reserve in store?

No I was in an 02 shop earlier in the week and overheard an 02 guru tell a customer over the phone it's a 1 st come 1 st served basis. Shortly after a young guy walked in. , said I want to upgrade to the new iPhone. Soon after completing the paperwork, off he walked out with a 64 gb white iPhone 5.

Ok thanks. I don't want an unlocked one from apple. I'd like to get one via O2. May have to wait. Which Is fin
Thanks for your reply

The only time I've been offered a reservation is when I sent a single request. That was my first attempt at getting one.

I didn't want the phone at that point, but now want one. Since then, I have sent loads of requests every day and never gotten given one. I think tomorrow I will just send one request...

You sent a reservation request and was successful but didn't want the iPhone 5 !

Why ?

Bet your kicking yourself now ;(

If you're planning on going with O2, you'd be as well with an original iPhone, for all the times you'll get a fast 3G connection :D

64GB seems to be available a little more than the others, CPW will sell you a white 64GB contract free at present (delivered in 2 days I think).

You won't get a 16GB or 32GB on walk in though.

Thanks for that... Worth knowing. All my local O2 stores are out of stock according to the online checker.

I'll hang on for a 16gb. I'm tight and its all I need to be honest. Thanks for the pointer

In the uk, the return period is 14 days, is this how much time you have to request the return online or the amount of time it should arrive back at apple?

i have an aversion to cpw owing to a bad experience a few years ago...Im in no great rush so can wait a bit for o2....how long until i break I don't know lol:)

I think if I don't get some change in status by lunch time tommorow or get one of the 2 reservations I have made, I am going to opt for CPW if they still have stock.
I am not wanting to go this way but I am getting really fed up of not being sure what is happening.

Same here. You go in and buy a handset and alls dandy.

Go back with an issue and the staffs face changes and kind of batten down the hatches saying it will have to be sent away for x amount of weeks ! ;(

Apple swap it out so that's why I stick with them !

indeed..not good...o2 have always been fine...i have insurance so if it does break it breaks good so to speak and i get a new one

Tight? Listen, Never mind the £700 for the 64gb.

There are many out there that consider paying £529 for a phone crazy money! Especially buying outright.
I've gone with the 16GB again, because I know I will not need any extra...being that I have a 32GB iPad3 already... And I often hear people saying they buy the biggest memory, even if they dont need it, for resale purposes, I dont understand that logic:confused: as you're getting less value for money, no?

Anyway, Apple WHERE IS MY PHONE??

very true :) I know im not going to use the 64 or even 32gb...i don/t use it for music anyway so 16gb is good for me i was going to get the o2 16 gb £250 and then 26 per month..i currently pay 21 on sim only with o2 so im happy with that. I don't want to shell out for an unlocked one and the still have to pay 21 a month

so, anyone got an email back from their reservation this evening yet?

Interested in this theory that if you put in more than one reservation request you get ditched, but there have certainly been some people who posted on here saying they had been successful after multiple (simultaneous) requests.

It would be extremely Apple to ignore anyone that tried more than once. They'll see it as follows:

Those that REALLY want an iPhone will reserve multiple times. Those that REALLY want an iPhone will wait. People who are SOMEWHAT interested will get signed up sooner.

Apple can then use the whole "people abusing system" BS to explain itself should it ever come to light.

PS No reservation for me yet anyway

My view is that they probably don't care. It's still worth the same money to them no matter who purchases the devices.

I've put in multiple applications to two stores, some for 32GB devices and some for 64GB using different email addresses .. but same contact details. I'm not trying to hide, I'd just accept either store and either device.

My suspicion as to those who have got reservations are they tried less popular devices (16GB, 64GB) in less popular colours (White) at stores who received more stock.

If you look back at the thread there's very few recent mentions of any reservations for sim-free BLACK phones, and none for 32GB Black which was the only device I've tried to reserve up until now.

I only submitted one application for a reservation yesterday and just picked up my iPhone today. Really pleased.

I got my reservation today - been putting in a couple off and on for a week or so. 32GB White.
