Maybe because Americans got theirs around 1 week early and we get ours on the LAST day of our wide delivery date.

Apple hav always heavily favoured American's first, both in Customer Care and there products (Siri and Maps).

I'm gonna have an expensive day if it doesn't come on Monday.

Since ordering I've been itching to have a new toy to play with and have bought a raspberry pi, various cases, a dock, a magic trackpad, minidp to dvi adapter, HDD enclosure and now a HDD caddy... and that's me holding back!

I'm dangerously close to buying a £400 monitor...

Without trying to be sarcastic or righteous, Apple did give you that option on the 21st Spetember, and as I heard everyone who queued at the Metro Centre that morning got the iPhone 5 of their choice.

You can't really moan, you were given exactly that option.

I took that option for the 4S, the 4 and the 3GS.

With the 5, I got it delivered by 3. Unfortunately it turns out in various places not listed on their own website, the signal is crap. They were very good though and happily cancelled the contract. The iPhone has now gone back to them.

My point: Yup you're right, but at the time I didn't think I needed any other options.

I just think the reservation system is a joke.

Sorry but I've read you constantly bleating on about having had time off work, and since I got scalded earlier on the last page too, you can have some abuse instead.

Apple gave you a delivery estimate. Forget the US, forget everything else, you had a delivery estimate that many stores don't bother with at all. You also knew stock was going to be tight.

No one forced you to get a week off work, and apple at no point suggested it would be early, late or anything other than roughly within a delivery estimate.

They appear to have kept to that estimate, and therefore have done nothing wrong.

Quit moaning. Mine's due 24th October.

yes!, finally after ordering an hour after they started taking pre-orders on the 14th!

the wait has been pissing me off tons, esp considering I'm using a 3210 nokia at the moment and it's a fair upgrade for me!

Who's fault is that? Don't bother telling me when you're delivery is thinking it makes a difference in your argument. I have the right to feel aggrieved that other people have received it a week before me and we get it as late as possible without it actually being 'late'. It's annoyed a lot of people in this thread and you're little paragraph of crap doesn't change that so run along for another 2 weeks as you won't be seeing changes for a while.

I could say (if we are bandying fault around) that the time your order has taken was down to you not getting up early enough on the 14th to place your order and ensure delivery on the 21st.
