I have to say after buying almost every apple product except a MacBook over all these years the iPhone 5's rollout has been abysmal in my opinion and they have just been piling on more new products instead of dealing with supply problems with their current ones

Jeez.....I'm not going to go into my long saga ill just say like most of you guys I just wanted one black IP5 and could not get one through continuous reservations.

Placed an online order on the 4th of Oct estimated del 1st of November!?! With no sign of shortening. I am really infuriated with this and tbh I got a feeling this might be my last iPhone....it's really only the App Store that sets it apart from everything else for me anyways.

Not happy at all!

got my iphone 5, it's in perfect condition :)
can't use it though, orange couldn't give me a sim card in the store, have to wait for the post. 3-5 days!

Success

Anyone in the London area who is looking for an unlocked iPhone 5 and able to buy for a business - the Brent Cross and White City stores will help you out. Other stores gave me the standard "you'll have to reserve through the website" reply.

Cut it down, if you can cut a straight line, you can trim the sim.

Use the sim template from http://www.airportal.de/nanosim/

I posted a how to at AVForums, with photos, if you want to give it a go.

Bit late ;)

They are made public tomorrow!

What do you mean? How are they gonna help me?

The EE pricing feels like a ripoff.

The sim only price doesn't seem that bad, someone commented elsewhere that the plans are very similar to existing Orange plans just with higher bundles at the top end and all costing an extra £5 a month.

I suppose we should have expected the higher prices considering their monopoly for the next year. Perhaps we can expect better, cheaper prices around July/August to preempt 3's 4G launch which should be around September next year.

And here comes another day of reservation trials. Looks like they still don't have enough phones allocated to sim free. New retail strategy is abysmal

Sim only is a 12 month contract. Frak that!

Will be very interesting to see how 3 approach their tariffs. I think their roll out of LTE will be better than ee as they have the experience with their 3G network. That went up scary fast.

Black, 32gb, ordered on the 23rd, no news yet. My full size sim has been deactivated since the end of last month due to a brain fart on Three's side.

I went over 10GB for three months in a row, they didn't say anything.

Just saw EE's tariffs, and all I can say is what a rip off. Anybody who signs up to these extortionist plans is an idiot IMO

EE £36 p/m for 500mb data
3mobile £15 p/m for unlimited data
giffgaff £10 p/m for unlimited data

To even advertise a data plan of 500mb on a NEXT GENERATION HIGH SPEED 4G NETWORK is absolutely laughable.

Received my shipment notification. Checked the serial on my invoice and my iPhone 5 is week 41. So it was literally made 2 weeks ago. Gives me faith that this unit will be perfect.

Anyone else had theirs shipped today?

Yeah gotta agree, the plans are awful. Anything less then 1GB is just plain silly. Even 1GB is the bare minimum.

Manchester

Does anyone know how easy it is to walk into an Apple store in Manchester and buy the iphone 5 white 16gb on an O2 contract?

Really narked off! HAd iphone 16gb white on order from the 12th of October with three, all geared up for delivery tomorrow. Got an email today to say it wont be delivered until the 9th!

They can stick that where the sun doesnt shine, why tell me night before im supposed to get delivery. Order cancelled, probably shot myself in the foot as no idea where im going to get one now! (doh)

I see where you are coming from, but 4G doesn't necessarily mean increased usage, although if in a 4G area a user may tend to use their mobile data a bit more.

The main benefit of it is speed. A lot of users rely on mobile data for email and some browsing, this will speed up the process of checking mail attachments etc.

When 4G launched in US starting data allowances started at 250Mb, as that is all some people use. The £46 plan is pretty good if like me you still use a lot of minutes, as that also has 3GB. Not bad as the price was also expected to be a little more anyway. Each to their own I suppose, though I will be signing up with my iPhone 5 :)

Anyone who ordered online from the Apple UK online store with a delivery window between tomorrow and 30 October 2012 got their one yet, or had a shipping email?
I'm still on the 'Processing Items' screen on my 64gb white/silver for the 24th day on the trot. Reading other forums it seems as they have started to ship. I'm wondering if they might leave it to my last day to get it delivered to me.
