I am little confused with the new EE plans, so you get ULTD Mins & Texts plus the 4G data, but will we still have access to the 3G network (is it still unlimited 3G wit the data cap on 4G only, or will the 3G be taken from your data allowance?).

I am currently on £46/month Full Monty from Tmobile, will I be able to go on the £46/month 3GB 4GEE plan, and is there a benefit to it?

Thanks

James

I hope to be wrong, but as they described it yesterday, you get an allowance and then are cut off completely.

No data at all. It's a stupid idea if true, especially for T-Mobile users with unlimited browsing and email, even when their allowance is used up (and even then most people are only throttled 4pm-midnight in reality and can still stream and download, just slower in those times).

Once you switch to EE your on their network. All data be it 4G or 3G will come out of your allowance. 4G is only available in selected areas and there is very little benefit as they claim their speeds are 8-12mbps but you can currently get that on your 3G network. Everywhere else you go you will use the Orange/T-Mobile 3G network

To switch you must move to a plan of the same or higher cost and commit to a new 24 month contract.

Question, are you unhappy with your current speeds and coverage and do you live in a 4G enabled area?

Was reading through the thread. Just wondering if you got sorted?

Sorry only just seen this.

Yes it's all been sorted I had to purchase another iPhone which was then sent to my local store ready for me to pick up, after a few days Carphone had sorted my refund just took constant phone calls and chasing

I now have my phone and I love it, just wish I didn't have to go through all the rubbish

Just recieved a week 41 Black 32GB sim free phone. One pretty annoying dent on the top left and a smaller dent on the right hand side, kind of peed off.

Obviously I didn't test the duff iphones in the apple store, but the perfect one I ended up with is as follows:

Model introduced: 2012
Serial number: xxx
Production year: 2012
Production week: 41 (October)
Name: iPhone 5
ModelCode: iphone_5
Group1: iPhone
Group2:
Generation: 7
Machine Model: iPhone5,1
CPU speed: 1.3GHz
Family name: Become a pro user to see this information. (sorry)
Screen size: 4 inch
Screen resolution: 1136x640 pixels
Colour: White
Capacity: 32GB
Factory: C3 (China)

Week 41 October is pretty new isn't it? I wonder if that explains why I eventually got a good'un?

still processing

ordered 29th sept and got delivery times of 24th - 30th Oct as most others did. Getting excited now!

Anyone who ordered online from the Apple UK online store with a delivery window between tomorrow and 30 October 2012 got their one yet, or had a shipping email?
I'm still on the 'Processing Items' screen on my 64gb white/silver for the 24th day on the trot. Reading other forums it seems as they have started to ship. I'm wondering if they might leave it to my last day to get it delivered to me.

I have just checked and mine is now being prepare for shipment so hopefully either yours is the same or soon to follow? Good luck! :D :s

Me too!:)
Ordered on the 30th and got an estimate of 24th-30th Oct.
But I wonder how long does it usually take for them deliver my phone:confused:
I'm leaving home on Friday around 3pm, do you guys think the phone will make it? Otherwise, can I phone Apple and tell them to change the shipping address:confused:

Cheers

Unfortunately it's too late for you to change anything so just gotta hope it will turn up before then... When you say leaving home i hope you are able to go back? And not moving address? Just going away.

No I'm going to be back in a week or two. Someone will probably sign it for me. It's just that I want to be able to take it with me during that time or else i'll have to wait for another week. Let's just hope UPS is efficient:(

Anyone here has got their phone from Apple website can tell me how long does it take for Apple to deliver the products once they're shipped:confused:

Cheers

Yes! Mine's just gone to 'preparing' status too :D
It's my understanding that once that happens the status usually goes to 'shipped' within an hour or two, and once that happens you get tracking info etc. Can anyone affirm or deny that?

To those lucky to already have had their phones shipped, at what time do shipping notifications get sent out? Unless you lucky lot know otherwise, I'm assuming it's during working hours...

Hi guys.

I received my iPhone today. I ordered on 26/9/2012. It was a week 41 so I expected it to be perfect! How wrong was I? Super wrong!

Some tired factory must have really the dropped the ball when handling mine. There were a total of 11 spots / scratches where the paint had chipped off and scratched the bezel. It had clearly happened after the anodisation process, as you could see the silver underneath.

Contacted apple right away on the free phone number and spoke a lady in Ireland. She asked me to email some pictures, so I did. She is going to arrange for a brand new replacement for me within 3-5 days. Defo going to look for some kind of goodwill after all is said and done. Premium price, not so premium workman ship.

I will keep you updated.

Anyone able to reserve in the past few days? It doesn't seem to be getting any better. Should have ordered mine though the online store

i ordered mine 4 days ago after so many unsuccessful reservation. sick of Apple's reservation games. i doubt whether there are any lucky guys really reserve a sim free iphone5 through this ridiculous system.

Ordered 1st Oct

Ordered 1st October:

Went to 'Preparing for shipment' about 6 hours ago.

Still the same status.

Anyone know when they should be with us by?

I heard Apple does not use a courier that delivers weekends, so maybe early next week?

Finally struck lucky today with a reservation. 16gb black. Been trying everyday for the last 3 weeks. First day I have used 3 separate email addresses and placed 3 reservations at 5 stores making 15 reservations in total. Only had one successful but that's all I need!

The irritating thing with all this online reservation nonesense at the Apple Store is that they've got stock, and if you take out a contract, you can have one. Want it sim-free and you've no chance.

It's the same hardware regardless.

It is indeed, but they don't want to allocate it to unlocked, whether it's a decision of someone from the upper level or managers in the UK. Will try 3 emails in one store today, don't think honesty with one reservation will get me anywhere

exatly - ask for a retail box replacement within 14 days, and they've got plenty.

Would it be unfair to suggest its all the fault of that ex-dixons bloke apple have employed to ruin their rep?

They are different stock. The contract ones are sim locked. They have them because no one is buying them. It's not like they have a pile of phones and choose to only sell them on contract.

When your iPhone gets activated, it gets locked. The iPhones are unlocked in their box. The Apple Stores may have different shelves for ones they plan to sell as contract and ones as unlocked, but there's nothing different between them.
